Such a bad experience at the groomer’s. I made an appointment several weeks in advance and when I arrived with multiple proofs of rabies vaccination in english, they refused to take my dog as it wasn’t in the format they were used to.I sent an email to customer service, again with all the proof of vaccination but they sent a generic email saying they passed it along to the appropriate department. A real vet could have looked at it and confirm it was ok but they just don’t value their customers…That’s too bad, I wanted to make Petco my unique go to place for vet, grooming and store but they just lost my business. I guess it’s a company that is too big to make their client and pets feel special…

Went in on a Saturday afternoon (busiest day of the week) with my dog and I guess they have “dog training” on these days?Well the whole class with their dogs decide they’re going to take the whole isle and I’m not talking about a side isle I’m talking about the long main isle that goes along the main part of the store. Tried going around separate ways but you had employees stocking shelves so to get to the isle I needed I had to cut along the class. I was told “you need to go around” and “can your dog not sniff my dog”First of all maybe NOT dedicate a training class to a public place where yennow people bring their dogs cause it’s a pet store…Either they need to do the training somewhere else or not do them at all.Also if they are training any sort of dogs with aggressive behavior IN A PUBLIC PET STORE WHERE ITS EXTREMELY NORMAL TO BRING YOUR DOGS WITH YOU TO SHOP is NOT okay AT ALL!!!!My dog is not aggressive at all. Not an ounce in her body is aggressive, so for someone in the training class to have the audacity to say that to a buying customer…. Yeah she can take that entitlement somewhere else.

I take my kids to Petco every now and then so they can see different types of pets. I try to make it a learning trip. But they like it and enjoy seeing all the different types of animals. It also helps me see what animal would be great when I decide to let them have a pet.

Worst grooming service. Today( 15th October ) I went to groom my 2.5 years old beagle. My pet is little sensitive to mail trimming. I gave heads-up before checkin and informed not to do incase if he is not allowing. While checking out, he first asked me to make the payment. That was unusual. I did and he informed me that my pet was aggressive and dangerous while trimming the nails and they can’t allow him to any petco anymore. He also said he is Absolutely fine with bathing, brushing. I found ridiculous. If he is aggressive for everything then its a behavioral issue and it’s a concern. If he is not ok with nail trimming, it’s obviously he is not ok with it and he could have just left as it is and label him as “dangerous”.I didn’t say anything as I felt so dumb to argue with someone who don’t know about pets.

Brought my two kids in to purchase fish for our established tank. They picked out the fish then the employee refused to sale me the fish! He asked me to drive 20 mins. back home to bring him a water sample to test from my tank! Seriously? 🤣🤣🤣 People this is absolutely NOT store policy and corporate was notified. Went to Petsmart right after and purchased fish with no questions asked. I will be pulling my dog from Vetco and never return just for principle.

Made a grooming appointment for my dog a few days ago at the Petco in Parkside. I've been here several times before but they must have had staffing issues because the grooming service was shut down temporarily. The old staff was great. I called and made an appointment with someone after not being able to do so online due to issues with their website. The woman asked me to bring proof of the rabies vaccine since I had not been there in a while, and that's it.I get to the appointment and they ask if my dog is on any meds. My dog is 14 yo and is on an anti-inflammatory med, so I said yes. They proceeded to tell me that they cannot provide service to my dog because she had a dose of medication today. I said no one told me that at the time I made the appointment. Apparently if I had not given the dose today but gave it to her every other day this week, then they would provide service. There is no indication of this policy written anywhere. I asked to see the policy and they couldn't produce it. The employee, Ann, said it's an internal policy, and that even she doesn't agree with it. The store manager, Dustin, was called and he didn't seem to know about this policy until Ann mentioned it. If it's internal and not posted and not communicated, how is the customer supposed to know about it?I will NEVER use Petco again. Very poor customer service.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but of all the petco stores I’ve been to this one was by far the worst. The entire time I was there no one wanted to help or even look at us. And when I got to checkout the girl behind the register obviously hated her job, she was so rude for no reason. I work in customer service I get that sometimes you’re just over it but this was ridiculous. She rolled her eyes at me multiple times and wouldn’t keep her eyes out of her phone, said everything with an attitude. Even tho it’s out of my way I’ll be going to the Durham location I’ve never had issues like this anywhere else.

I reluctantly maintain my son's aquarium while he is away at college. I have no experience of maintaining these fish. However, I can consistently depend on the petco staff to provide the proper advice and recommendations and then sell me the best product to meet the needs of my pets

CAUTION: This Petco has incorrect hours on its Google business listing. They have a handwritten sign on the door stating that the hours are 10am-6pm due to short staffing and have been since 3/11/22. We saw several people walking up to the door thinking it was open.

A seriously solid petco. Best aquatic selection I've seen. The aquatic team really knows what they are doing. Fish are happy and healthy. Tanks are kept in top notch condition. Plenty of stock. The rest of the store is organized and clean. Cashiers are incredibly friendly and helpful. What a wonderful experience here

Most incompetent employees here. I’ve had to call corporate twice for issues they could’ve solved in the store. Corporate even said they didn’t understand why they weren’t able to help. The staff will say it’s because they’re short staffed but not sure what that has to do with their ability to read pick up orders and grant refunds. Everyone is short staffed, that doesn’t excuse them from doing the absolute basics of their jobs. When I asked to speak to someone else at the store they didn’t even attempt to grab someone they just informed me they wouldn’t be able to help either.Corporate was able to refund my money and give me 20$ off on my purchase.

The staff was so friendly. We went for their Vetco clinic and the prices to get my dog's shots up-to-date is unbeatable. The wait was a little long, but worth it for the price. The vet was so careful with my dog, who is always very nervous around new people. They worked quickly, but carefully. We will definitely be back.

I called to see if they had and blue damsels. Girl on the phone asked, and said we have 6. So, I load my disabled husband in the car, drive 40 miles, walk in, NO BLUE DAMSELS!!. fish lady said we only have black and white damsels. Sorry. Me too. Goodby petco!

Not crazy about the location. I am a fish and reptile enthusiast. Some of the staff is knowledgeable but others are not at all. Fish don't look very healthy, and there are frequently dead fish in the tanks. When I have asked simple questions like when do they receive shipments of crickets or new fish they basically stare at me blankly and say they don't know. I went there during the dollar a gallon tank sale looking for a 75 gallon and they just shrugged at me and say they didn't stock them. The website listed the tank. When I asked about having one ordered they said that it was impossible. I get the feeling most the folks working aren't all that interested in helping the customers if it means asking another employee or manager they will likely turn you away. I will only return for crickets and worms for my bearded dragon because it is the only pet store close. If I want fish I will drive the extra 20 mins to other stores.

Was not notified of return policy on saltwater sealife. Tested water before putting in my clownfish and saltwater life I purchased and even drip acclimated them. Within 2 days 3 of the fish died but everything else is alive. Store won't help and neither will customer service line $80+ dollars wasted
