If I could give this place negative starts I would. Brought in my chainsaw to have assessed and fixed. They held my saw for SEVEN WEEKS! Called multiple times for updates and received different excuses every time as to why the job wasn’t completed. Finally gave up and went to pick up my saw and they charged me $40 “for the work they did”. Then proceeded to give me my saw entirely dismantled and in a box. Absolute waste of my time, if you value your time and use your saw or mower for anything business related then take them literally anywhere else.

Edit: you're right you don't refuse to sell parts you just can't be bothered to look them up and return phone calls. Hopefully it makes sense nowBought two very expensive mowers here and I've been trying to get over $2000 worth of parts from them for a month now. Evidently my money isn't good enough. I will be going elsewhere from now on. It's such a shame I'd much rather support local business but not when they can't be bothered to help.

Stopped in to see if I could get 2 blowers serviced and get them back in 3 days. I know what was I thinking in prime cutting season. So I just asked Amanda for the service kits so I can do it myself. They had one but not the other, so Nick took some time looking up that item to piece one together for me. I really appreciate both of you for helping me today. Thank you!!

Never buy anything from this place. Anything wrong with it they will tell you it was bad gas and not covered. Go to Lowes or Home Depot. My Toro mower had less than an hour on it. They tried to tell me it was bad gas but all my other mowers are running just fine on it and I only use ethanol free 89.

Very detailed oriented company. Lots of equipment to choose from. Techs are pretty backed up but usually pretty helpful and leave detailed notes. HOWEVER if you choose not to continue with a repair they dont reassemble units unless requested ahead of time so double check to make sure you have all your parts.

Took my weedeater in for warranty repair ended up having a stuck valve, denied warranty, they state moisture caused rust, I paid the 41$ to pick it up they then tell me it's in pieces and so I got a weedeater completely disassembled and there is no rust on the stuck valve, no rust on it at all its a stihl fs111rx that I bought from them last August for $450 they want $400 to repair.

Excellent customer service. Had chainsaw serviced but had a slight problem after getting it back. Took back and they said they would check everything again and make sure it was good to go. Had no hassle and they happy to take care of me. Great place to buy equipment and have service done.

If you value your time and money, do not go here. This is a terrible small business. I've brought my mower here 5 or 6 times for the same issue that is yet to be fixed. Each time they've looked at it, it's been a 3 week process before return without a resolution. The reasoning is always the same. They are either really backlogged or the mechanic is out sick 3x a week.The last time I picked it up they sent me a message 2 days later asking me to come pick up my mower. It came from the same person who returned it to me prior. Where is the accountability of equipment that people are trusting to this business?I was told before this last diagnosis that if it doesn't work well help you get reimbursed from cub cadet. Just come or call and tell the staff you want cub cadet to buy it back/reimburse. Called cub cadet and confirmed this is something they actually do. All it needs is the mechanic and business signing off basically saying they do not know what is wrong or they can not repair it. Mentioned what the previous employee said when I called in. I was told the "boss" would be calling me to help get cub cadet to reimburse. All I got was a text message saying we're not interested in buying your mower... which is not what I asked for in the first place.Save yourself many headaches and seek out a different small business for your needs. Definitely will not go back and recommend you don't either!

5/16/23: DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Brought my working chainsaw in for a cleaning and tune up 4 months ago. Long story short, constant excuses, no progress. It worked when I brought it in and now they can't start it. After 4 months and multiple phone calls and visits, I was told it was ready. Drove an hour to pick it up. Turns out they have not touched it in 30 days. Owner is worthless and only has excuses. Will never come here again. 5/17/23: UPDATE. After yesterday, I thought nothing would surprise me. Today they text me and told me it needs a new part (they have had it for four months) and that will be an additional $70 bringing the cost to over $220 for what should have been a cleaning. After I explained to the employee that I was done doing business with them she said she had heard about me and would not deal with me and then hung up. Absolutely the WORST customer service and INEPT repair shop I have ever done business with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE.

You can't get a five star review, that would mean you were perfect in my eyes. That fifth star is not there because instead of putting the gas pump in front so it's easier to get to that great fuel, you put two "charging" stations in front, worthless to MOST people that will visit you. Notice I said most. And, for the most part most of your store is good or better than Lowe's Home Improvements and Home Depot. IF you could clone your son, that would be great, or if he could really TRAIN someone when he's not there. MOM IS THE BEST, but over worked. I did buy many STIHL produces from you guys. I'm greatly appreciative of the fact that the son talked to my husband about safety equipment for our chipper. I did buy our Toro lawn mowers in Pittsboro, but they do not carry STIHL products.I like to spread my money around to "LOCAL" small businesses instead of the big boxed stores, when possible. I will not stick around if people think they can take advantage of me or take me for granted. They need us, we can go somewhere else, and I think they KNOW THIS, and they work hard to help you. This store cannot change policies that a company makes for THEIR product. I don't mind waiting for BETTER service.YOU, the customer have to ask questions on parts and guarantees, and warranties.My perimeter is large, in terms of "shopping around"! I'm not going to live in any 15 minute city, I will go two hours one way for the pizza I LOVE, when a store stops carrying it around here. I've been to Greensboro to pick up a DR Trimmer. I have the time, energy, and money, but for service and a friendly smile, it's easy to find at Carthage Saw and Mower

I will always try to support our locally owned businesses, and I am so happy that this is one of those. Since we moved here last year, I have been a reoccurring customer, buying big ticket items, like a Ferris Mower, to all the little things that I need for my property: trimmer, gas, and other accessories. My wife and I are very happy with this family owned business and appreciate all that they have done for us. We will continue to support them for as long as we are able. If I could give this joke of a business zero stars I would. I done business with several businesses that do repairs on lawn equipment. Never seen a business so inept at what they do customer service is horrible. For 6 weeks I got the run around ever time I called about the status of my blower being fixed. Finally 6 weeks after dropping it off I get a called that its ready.. yeah it cost more than the estimate which they never called and told me. Don't waste your time or money. It's a rip off....

Nobody was in line when I went in so I walked directly to the counter. It then took a full hour to get fuel filters and fuel lines for my weedeater and blower. The other person servicing people was the manager and she helped at least six people that came in after me get what they needed and back out the door before I left. I'm a disabled war veteran and have a very bad leg to to military injuries and told them it was painful but customer after customer was still seen by the manager and back out the door quickly while I stood on a painful leg for an hour trying to get 4, in stock parts. They don't have any stools to sit on. I really thought the manager would step in and help get my parts but instead she just kept helping others that came in after me get out the door quickly while I stood for an hour on battle injuries. Again, yes I explained it was painful to the person assisting me but that was ignored.I know of at least 5 other sources for the parts I need so Goodbye Carthage Saw & Mower...P.S. I noticed they turned off the ability to write a review on Facebook. Companies only do that for ONE reason.Too many bad reviews....P.S. 2I noticed they replied saying I came in at a busy time lol. I was the only customer when I walked in as I said above and I was the only customer for at least half the time I was there...

Went in needing a new trimmer head and received excellent customer service. Not only did the sales associate find one of the new "speed feed" heads for me, but she also walked me through how it works and set up the mount for my specific trimmer model. This is the kind of detailed help I really appreciate!

My only regrets are not having zero stars as an option. Very low marks for customer service, service skill, professionalism and salesmanship. Equipment accountability ZERO STARS! I brought them two saws for service, one saw was lost and the owner only wanted to give my $20 for it. It had less then 8 hours on it and was in like new condition. Like models are selling for $250 on eBay . The other "Serviced" saw still doesn't run very well with the same symptoms as it had when it went in only my wallet is $60 lighter My advice take your tools to ACE or Burney Hardware Company for sales and service. I am doing research to see if I was the only one. Come to find out I have a friend same thing happened to them. Only they found his saw thought luck him.

My husband took our lawn mower in for service. He was told it would be ready in a week, however in a week he was flippantly told the help had been out sick and the mower had not been touched. After 10 days the mower was ready, the bill was $260, $59 and $39 for checking it!!! He got home (30 miles round trip)put ramps on truck to unload and discovered they had removed the key. He called back and he was rudely told he should have taken his key and they could not guarantee they could find his key!!! 30 minutes earlier their employee drove it on the truck and removed the key!!! Unreal how rudely and unprofessionally she treated a customer who just paid them $260 for work!!! The woman on the phone should be fired for speaking to a customer like she did! NEVER AGAIN!!! I hope this review helps you decide you should definitely keep looking and NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! Do you think an owner will read this and be concerned??? UPDATE, I understand the rude lady is the owner!!! No One EVER said take your key and if you paid and arrived home with no key of course you would call them , should you expect to be berated by a rude woman instead of helped!!! Pathetic!!!

Took my Honda mower there because it wouldn’t start. Promised a diagnosis but was a week late getting to me. Called to pick mower up and get my 50 deposit back. Received call said they were starting on mower. Picked up and leaked oil out or valve cover gasket. Brought back repaired on the spot. Brought home and started and it was making a weird noise in the drive system. Took back and apparently they don’t test after repair or would have noticed something was wrong. Bad experience

Brought my saw there for evaluation was told it would be over $200 to repair. Advised I didn’t want it repaired at this time and I would pick up later. Saw was there for less then 60 days when I went to pick up was told it was gone and that they don’t know what happened to it. Saw had sentimental value as it was a gift to my husband and store is basically telling me too bad. They have no explanation as to why saw is not in store and why it has disappeared. The owners are non empathetic and do not care about customers, I now have no saw and have to proceed with other actions. it was first time there and I warn you don’t do business there!!!!There is no where written on the work order that after 30 days you are not responsible. It only stated REPAIRED EQUIPMENT will be sold. Not only that I told the store I would return and was advised I had 90 days you offered me another saw that you told me I had to wait so you can contact the owner because you only had it for 60 days and then you could give it to us. Why is it that you could contact that owner but never contact me to confirm? The saw was there less then 45 days and now can’t be found. I don’t want money I need my saw I have a down tree and now can’t cut it because I have no saw. Even though that saw wasn’t fixed we could have fixed it ourselves for less money we just wanted to know what was wrong and that is why we brought it in for evaluation. Any good business would find a way to make this right. I even called Husqvana and they thought your practices are wrong.

Poor Customer ServiceI brought my walking assist mower to them to be tuned up. When I bought it to the shop the walking drive assist was working. When I got home after the tune up, the walk assist no longer worked.I brought the uint back expecting them to make it right. Instead, I was told I had to pay for another $50 deposit for them to look at it. Hmm, bring a working unit in for tune up and they break it and have to pay again to fix it??? This is just poor customer service. Stay away from them.

We love supporting local small businesses and decided to check them out. They have a great selection and large inventory. Prices were competitive with the big box stores and the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and didn't pressure. They gave us plenty of time to look around. They carry a great selection of brands from Cub Cadet, Toro, Stihl, Husqvarna and more. We purchased a Stihl weed eater and it was prepped and ready in a flash. With their on site service department the cover service after the sale which the big box stores can't offer. Great product displays and just a nice local dealer. Definitely worth checking out if you need service or lawn care products!

Two words, Customer Service. This is by far the best service I've ever had anywhere, while looking for parts for my saw. They didn't have the part I needed for my blower in stock, but they had several in Stock and they let me take one from their inventory. They don't know it yet, but they just made a customer for life! If you need something for a Stihl or Husqavarna, look no further. This is the place for you.

We purchased a lawnmower new from them and we have been using only their gas in it the entire time. Had a good experience with the sale of mower etc..have been buying gas and maintenance items from them for almost two years.Lawnmower has not been working right so we cleaned the carb, replaced fuel filter, etc...still won't run.We took gas tank off and cleaned it out, full of debris from the gas we got there. We tried to talk to them about the gas and they blamed it on everything else except their gas!Mower is garage kept , serviced regular, fuel filter only had 6 hours on it and was completely black!!We spent over $90 on gas this last time and put some in our brand new generator.Do not buy gas from here!! They didn't want to hear it! Talked to two other people who said the same thing happened to them with their gas!! 😠 We won't be back!

I inherited an old Troybilt Horse 1002 from my stepdad, he'd had some work done on it; replaced the original engine with a Harbor Frieght predator engine. All I asked them to do was give it a look over and replace some fuel lines, check it for proper function, fix a flat tire. They wouldn't even fix the tire, unrelated to the motor. After a week, I got it back...nothing done. I fixed the flat tire myself with a ratchet strap and a jump box compressor, replaced fuel return line, temp fixed crankcase vent hose with Gorilla duct tape. They refused to replace or repair anything bc of the engine, there's a parts list and manuals Harbor Freight website...try Google? I think they're just lazy. I fixed it all myself, I am a mechanic, engine runs fine, it's got 3hrs on it. My biggest complaint with them is they did nothing for me, not even fix a flat tire on something totally unrelated to the motor. Total FAIL. Never go to them again. Phone service was great, very nice experience with customer service. They tried hard to get the answers I wanted. One star to them, everything else 0 stars. OBTW, Harbor Frieght doesn't have authorized service providers, it's off the hip. They just lazy, I fixed it myself in 5hrs total

Nice showroom but don't take anything there for service. I took a new tiller there to have warranty work done and when I finally got to use the tiller the reverse wouldn't work. On a close inspection they had the belt wrong and that's when I noticed they used old nuts and bolts to put the tiller back together. Some were missing washers or the bolt was 2 sizes smaller than the lock-washer...a total mess for it being new! I took it back and spent 20 minutes explaining how the belt should go on and pointed out the miss-matched hodge podge of nuts and bolts and they didn't seem to care.
