We have been taking our two furbabies to CAH since we moved to the area! They are very thorough and also financial conscious for the client! Dr Mickey is definitely the cat doc for Higgins recently saw Dr Loftin for Nia! Love the walk-in clinic, even if you have to wait awhile, you still see a doctor! Love the staff, so caring and helpful! Thank you for going above and beyond for the care of our pets!

I moved to Hope Mills, NC and called in advance to obtain pricing for my son's cat, Luna, to be spayed prior to driving over an hour from my home. I was given a verbal price over the phone: $48 for an exam and $150- $200 for the spay depending on what had to be done. I originally scheduled the appt. for the initial exam for 3/27/24, then had to re-schedule for 4/4/24. On 4/4/24 we arrived early, the Veterinarian examined Luna and gave her her booster shots (which I requested without obtaining a price) and received another price for the spay. The second price for the spay was $341.41 - $401.41! I was totally shocked at the second price given and was told that they just increased their prices! I ended up paying $106.50 for today's visit and I thought the price was higher due to the booster shots. However, when I arrived home, I checked the receipt and the exam ended up being $64.50 instead of $48 like I was told to begin with. I did not receive any call prior to my appt. to notify me of the price changes which was very poor customer service and when I called to complain and inform the person who answered the phone that I was going to write a review, she responded: "go ahead". I am quiet shocked and appalled that a place I took my dog to previously would change to have such poor customer service so I know that I will not ever take my pets there again. (My call was at 9:03 AM on 4/4/24).

All of the staff is very friendly to me and to my pet. She got lots of praise, which is always nice to hear, and they went over all of her needs with me as well as what she received at the appointment. Everything was timely & we were there for a reasonable amount of time. Overall a great experience.

I am still getting used to the new appointment scheduling for sick pets. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I called about Sammy (my cat) and was offered a same day appointment or one for the following day. If service continues like this, it is a great improvement over the old walk-in hours.

We have been bringing our dogs to Carthage Animal Hospital since 2009, and they’ve cared for two of our dogs from puppyhood through their passing. Highly recommend Carthage Animal Hospital! The front office staff have always been friendly and helpful. The vet. techs are patient and calm when dealing with both pets and their parents. The doctors have always been caring and compassionate whether dealing with normal visits or an emergency. We've had numerous visits for over 25 years with multiple pets, and will continue to do so as our pets need them.

Dr. Loftin took great care of my dog when she was badly torn up in a dog fight. Dixie is a difficult dog to handle, and the techs very professionally sedated her so she could undergo the necessary surgery. Dr. Loftin did a terrific job of suturing her and cleaning the puncture wounds so they could drain and heal.

Carthage Animal has been our vet for many years. My female furbaby had a nail trim November 2021 and came out with 4 bandages on her nails because her cuticles were cut. She still hasn’t had to have a nail trim. Their prices are ridiculous. They are double what other vets charge. The techs are rude ( except for Anna )… $32 for an anal glands expression is ridiculous. $88 for a cytopoint shot is ridiculous ( had one today for $53 from our new vet).I called to get a price and 2 days later when I went in the price had gone up- again! I found a great vet who actually cares about helping the working class have affordable care for their animals.

This clinic is disorganized, lacks communication between their staff, is inconsistent with their policies, and treats their clients very disrespectful. They are out for your money, and I'm very dissatisfied with them. They have long lines at their walk in clinic, and refuse to make an appointment for me, when I said my dog needed to be seen.The manager is very rude, interrupting me constantly, disrespectful, and will not shut her mouth. I will never go back to this clinic. They are terrible and very unprofessional. She admitted they made a mistake, but wouldn't work at correcting their mistake.

This used to be such a great place to bring our pets. The staff genuinely seemed to care about our fur babies and their needs and never made it seem like a dollar was their first priority. Tim was truly in the business of caring for animals and ever since it has been under new management, we have had terrible experiences- in person and via phone/email. It is almost impossible to get a response and my partner and I have both been hung up on. Just yesterday, after our appointment, I asked to have an X-ray emailed over and never received it and now it’s the weekend and they are closed. The vet that was seeing us had absolutely zero bed side manner. The tech was the only pleasant part of the whole experience but unfortunately still not enough for us to continue letting our Pups receive care from this place. Very disappointed.

One of our feral cats was severely injured. Blunt hit in the eye and a hole in her back foot. Carthage Animal hospital did surgery and sent her home the same day! They are my hero's! What a beautiful job they did and she has not had any problems. A BIG THANK YOU!

I have been coming for years and I love the staff here. Pricing is always so reasonable no matter the situation. I very much enjoy the walk-in hours as so many times, our pets have been sick or needing to be seen same day and can get them in during those times.
