Like most households, I tend to spread my nets to a number of different grocery chains. Reason being, I can depend on each of them to maintain certain standards on quality, variety and consistency. In this age of financial instability, we need to take advantage of every opportunity provided. We must learn the importance of food and the secrets of foods preparation. Learn how to save money by comparing prices, and being observant.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVORgo inside.Turn rightBe greeted by one of the kindest men on this planet, TOMTom makes a KILLER sandwich stacked with all your favorite meats and /veggies all fresh off the shelf! The sandwiches are massive and cheaper than everywhere else. A foot long sub absolutely overflowing with delicious fillings all for less than 10 dollars! They even have a discount on Fridays! All fresh boars head meat and veggies right off their own shelves for under 10 bucks can't be beat!Tom is always kind, respectful, and holds a good conversation that leaves you smiling on your way out the door!

Great selection of products. Clearance section near the checkouts. Coin star to cash in change. Fresh sushi made daily. Deli is full of pre-made meals and tons of options for meats and cheeses. Fresh pizza cooked on site that you can call ahead and order. Lots of balloons, bouquets and house plants for gifting. Self checkout lanes on either side of store.

Not the best of our area's Harris Teeters. The daytime experience tends to be good with friendly staff and attentive management. Nights tend to be a different story with cart shortages and indifferent staff with next to no service. All other area Harris Teeters offer standard checkout until closing time, where it takes trained staff about 1/5th the time to process a full shopping cart. Self-check stations are much too small to accommodate a full shop, requiring many interruptions. The Carrboro Harris-Teeter also has the bad habit of closing early without notice or explanation, which can be extremely inconvenient for emergency and last minute shops. Tonight, about ten of us approached the door at about 10:30 to find it closed. There was no sign and staff inside the store ignored us completely. Google, which I had checked before heading over, said they were supposed to be open. Phone calls went unanswered. Had they placed a sign in the door 48 hours prior to closing early, it was concluded that 80% of us would have seen it and would have made alternative plans. Notifying customers via e-mail the way other stores do, is also not in their repertoire.Fortunately, other Harris-Teeters do not seem to be beset by these problems. Unfortunately, the Carrboro Harris-Teeter is the one that is closest to me.

Bad produce, always out of stuff, has gotten expensive for meh quality, most of the time only has one checkout lane. Unfortunate it’s the main store for carrboro

Self check out. Once it was a choice for consumers convenience now is a staffing and profit strategy for Harris Teeter. Show up this morning in Carrboro to buy fruit. Everyone knows fruit check out is a bit hindering unless you have a cashier that has memorized the codes and mastered quick weighing. Instead, I’m the cashier, no choice no cashiers. Response when I mention this use to be option not required, apology given for not enough staff. Interesting when I entered 2 managers standing in produce with employee talking, two employees at customer service desk. I remember when I was an employed cashier for grocery stores in the past they would call on PA and someone would come from another department or off break to check out customers. Very disappointing. I Left my basket of fruit, I didn’t have time to work at Harris Teeter before my full time job. Sad state of customer service these days. I mean, the companies could at least provide a discount to customers using self check out passing on their staffing savings to consumers. Although for fruit I wouldn’t have time in the morning. Extremely disappointed.

they have a nice selection of vegetarian items (particularly frozen) even though they are sort-of hidden away with breakfast things (but that might have just been temporary).their avocado sushi roll is delicious! all of the cashiers there have always been very kind to me.

No space to move around. Two people can't go through most aisles. Can't get around front side of store. #doBetter

Oh harris teeter… how I adore you! As you know, miss teeter is the market of grocery stores and it’s true! Amazing workers and always well stocked and clean. My cashier Paige was simply amazing! Also another employee complimented me and if you know me, that’s 5 stars in itself. Will continue to come here for the amazing service. <3

Their deli is very nice. The pizza bar is truly out of this world they have some really really good pizzas. They're dairy selection is nice. Customer service is always friendly. There is plenty of well-lit parking spaces close to the store. They've got handicap access and quite a few handicap parking spots close to the door. The fresh seafood and butcher section is nice. The butcher on duty is always willing to give you a specialty cut of meat. I enjoy it I go there fairly often

There's nothing wrong with this store, and the employees have always been fine. It's just very popular since it's in town and is a little small, so maintaining social distance is very difficult (the aisles are narrow, etc). Even during off hours, it's hard to stay away from people like we should be doing.

$$ Great supermarket! Excellent price on most everything, wines, fresh produce, dairy and meats, and great selection. They are paying more attention to "natural/organic/vegan" products than before. Good value and customer service is tops. Weaver Street Market is located on the opposite side of Carr Mill and competes with Harris Teeter BUT.. some products are 'unnecessarily' overpriced. Harris Teeter is still a great value.

This store is tricky to get to being it's right in the heart of Carrboro. If your GPS starts navigating you around the back of some building keep going. My GPS always takes me around the way back if the building and the first time I went to this store I was so confused. Nice store layout.

Store is nice a little small but convent get subs a lot there decent for the price today it was not it was slapped together and done with no effort I asked for a little bit of mayo and they gave a lot of horseradish didnt realize till I got home stupid. I've had subs from that employee as well as the other one so this was probably just an off day I have had probably like 100 subs or so over the past 3 years or so there genarly very good(marquees is the employ)

Decent selection, including ethnic foods. Alas, now closed at 11pm. Like everywhere else, occasional shortages (whatever happened to baby Cokes in bottles?). Nice, helpful staff. Still think Still think this HT, next to Carrmill Mall is best HT in area.

Went to this store today to purchase a salad. No salad's. Went to the deli instead to buy a sandwich and the line’s twenty feet long. On the way out I see all the registers are lined up to the food isles. Even the self checkout. I only get an hour of for lunch I can’t waste it here anymore.

Useless grocery store. It would be great if you could have more than one person working the cash register OR alternatively, open all of the self check outs during peak shopping hours.

I found a few items here that are even cheaper than at Food Lion! Organic produce section could be bigger/better stocked (maybe work with local farms? Hint, hint HT!), and that's the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars. Up-to-date equipment with motion-sensor lighting in the coolers that brighten as you pass by. Way to conserve your power bill, Harris! Friendly staff, quality products.

Dear managers, please listen to my advice. The Harris teeter up the road has Organic Harris Teeter Oatmeal in multiple flavors. I usually travel an extra 10 miles to that store since you just have the plain version. Considering your location and your particular target market, I believe you could make more sales by offering the full line of organic Harris teeter oatmeal. Even if that means getting rid of the non organic Harris teeter brand oatmeal to free up shelf space. I promise you will not regret it. Also, those guys making subs today were the real deal. I like how a second person jumped right in to help clear the line and I like how the lids were kept on the containers as well as the cleanliness of the staff. I noticed they put on fresh gloves to make my sandwich and that made me feel confident that I made the right decision. Those sandwich makers have a future as bright as the heavens.

The food here is fine, it's just crowded and tiny as far Harris teeter's typically go. You never know when you're gonna get hit by a rogue cart or get blocked from going down an aisle because two people decided to chat. By the time your stress levels from inside the store are high, you need to navigate the parking lot on the way out...

Nice clean store, well organized, good produce.Nasty, surely staff that don't seem to want to help at the self checkout. I was visiting my son, and was at the store around 10am. Lots of people with full carts at the only open check out, so I used the self checkout. I had picked up a local milk with no bar code. The machine did not have it programmed into it. I hit the assist button several times, and waited over 5 minutes while the lady who was supposed to be working the help area, (Polly, I believe), just stood and watched me. She did notice her male friend who came into buy beer, and chatted him up. I approached her and politely ask for assistance with the milk code. She never moved, or apologized for ignoring me, and put the code into her register, and then pranced off! She was unkempt looking and very rude! The customer service counter was busy, so I attempted to call from my car several times, but they did not pick up the phone. I'm one for local flavor, and was certainly not overdressed, or looked pretentious in my gardening jeans/blouse, and no jewelry. This kind of rudeness is uncalled for, and certainly not the norm at the other stores in town, or the farmers market!

Like this location and the service. But, not there pizza service. It has been three times in a row that they did not have our pizza made by the time they said they would. One of the tie we ordered online and got an email saying the pizza is ready. Then got to store and found out they haven’t even made it yet. Just tried to let their manager know the situation. His reasons includes “short on staff” “ some staff left and they dont have new people yet. “ etc. Feel like they totally expect me to wait another 15-20 min in the store for the pizza should have be ready.

Consistent 10+ minute wait at SELF checkout every day. They have 2 self checkout stations but only open one at a time. The only time I havent seen a line is at 4am.Honestly, the 2 minute drive to Food Lion down the road will save you time and money. Never had to wait long to checkout there because they are adequately staffed.
