I went in to get something to eat and the Asian food bar looked really good so I got what I wanted and went to check out. there was only one person checking everybody out. The line was 15 people long. Went to the self checkout and the line is also long and there's no one there to help anybody. I knew I would need someone to punch in the super secret code for stuff like I had. So I just put it down and left. I won't be back.

This morning I had the worse customer service experience ever from an employee name Avon Perry!!! I usually do self checkout, but all the lanes were gone, so I went through a line with a rep to ring up my groceries. I had a basket with less than 6 breakfast items. Perry proceeds to tell me, "you need to take the stuff out your basket next time so it would make my job easier." I responded, to let her know "that isn't my job and wouldn't it be easier to take it out the basket and just ring it up, you are actually doing double work by taking it out putting it on the belt, and then ringing out up." We definitely exchange words and as I finished paying for my items she slams the basket down near my bagged groceries to tell me "you need to put the basket back where you got it from." Of course my response was, "No I will not!" After speaking to a Lead and another employee after the incident, they informed me, this isn't the first time (its been several times) patrons have complained about her service!!! She is rude, disrespectful, and does not have any customer service skills about herself. I shop at this location often and have never encounter such an ugly individual. Food Lion, she needs to be fired!! Avon Perry does not deserve to be a representative of your store!!!!

Never enough checkouts open so there is almost always a line. The trashcan at the entrance is always overflowing. Overall, not the most pleasant grocery shopping experience, but it is convenient and they have pretty good prices. Looking forward to having a nice Harris Teeter across the street.

Overall, The Food Lion chain has improved since Ahold/Delhaize bought them. This location, while serving a lower middle class demographic, was clean, bright, well stocked, and had very nice and helpful personnel. They're self checkout has improved significantly, since they began moving to NCR. There are four self-checkouts in between all the registers, and it was very quick checkout. I recommend this location. But check out some of the newer Food Lions as well, because they have beautiful produce rooms and are expanding their prepared foods to make them better.

Stop closing your hot bar early!!!!! And stop trying to close your store early and maybe answer the phone!!! There are hard-working individuals that have to go grocery shopping and get food after work!!

Hesitate to call it a hidden gem as it is well known locally. If you are new to the area or just passing through and have had trouble finding certain items at other grocery stores, then this could be the place for you.

Shopping the store is easy and organized. Very clean. But this day, as checking out , the cashier (New) didn't understand English 😑 I was trying to explain what type of cigarette I wanted, and she called the management over to help. I made a comment to customer behind me to apologize for the wait. The manager turned at me and made some comment. So she came back to counter to finish checking me out. With an attitude, rufflly handling my purchases. That was the first time I was ever treated so rudely.and by a manager. Who I never even had a confrontation with, to begin. I felt very mistreated and felt bad .I feel uncomfortable now to even shop here. But it is my Local store.Seems tge Location of store had changed in this review.Talking about Siler City, food lion.

I think they finally fired all the people I don't like here, or they died. Either way, my problems are solved and I like getting groceries here now.But actually I'm still mad because I got robbed here in 2008 and nobody ever made me whole again. And I'm tired of self checkouts... I don't wanna work here, I already have a job. Why do I have to work to pay for my groceries? They should scan everything and load it in my car for me and drive me home if they want a 5 star.Update: 9/11/23This place still gives me PTSD. There's one guy here who may or may not be a criminal. I just know he was watching when I got robbed back in 08 by the guy in the white van.

This Food Lion has needed new management for years now. Staff turnover, always short staffed with 1 cashier open, old and rickety grocery carts, IF any available. The cashiers look and act miserable. The biggest complaint is management’s lack of availability for alcohol purchases. Why aren’t managers readily available and going to cashiers anymore?? The cashiers have to constantly hunt them down, 1 product by 1. So inefficient and very poor management.I have literally called the store at 5pm on a Friday to have the office answer and requested more cashiers out there while in line since I saw the 2 managers hide in the office during peak season. 1 cashier with 12 people in line and self-checkout stacked. 5 minutes later, they came out to reluctantly help. So sad.When I walked in at noon today and saw no shopping carts during a slow period and 1 cashier’s line backed up, I literally walked out and went to the Food Lion on HWY 54 2 miles away.Something is seriously wrong with this store’s management.

This may sound stupid, but this is my criteria in order of importance. Season, freshness, quality, price. Food Lion isn't 100% all the time. But when it comes to produce, nine times out of ten, they hit the mark.

For whatever reason, this location stopped replenishing shopping baskets. So the only option for carrying stuff is a cart, even if you're only picking up a few items.Otherwise, love that Food Cat. Beats prices everywhere except Aldi. Selection's geared towards staple cooking ingredients more than fancy luxuries. Its international aisle is the bomb.

This particular branch of Food Lion still has not brought back the simple but extremely helpful underappreciated hand basket for shopping. I use a manual wheelchair and whenever I go here the first thing I have to do is go scrounging for a box to put my items in ! I'm sick and tired of it and will not go back until I hear they've brought them back. Most other places that stopped using those little life savers during the pandemic have brought them back .And the customer service here is indifferent at best , especially where check out supervisors are concerned , the clerks would be willing to help but are stymied by uncaring and unsympathetic supervisors .

They could have helped. The not obvious loss prevention saw me and had time to follow me the whole time. I'm from out of town. Wants to be a large store. Does not take advantage of it's size. Dave's in Cleveland is a good example.

Staff here are super! I like the available parking and the location is convenient to other stores & a gas station. The staff really care about people, I witnessed their efforts to find a missing child here and thank God the child was found! Great team here and the food they have here is good.Gluten-free section is neat and has a good variety of items.

I so appreciate their large section of gluten free products- the best I've seen locally! This Food Lion recently renovated their space and seem to be working hard to become the top local grocery store. Between their increasing organic selections and wonderful gluten free section, this has become my "go-to" grocery store. It actually makes grocery shopping fun with it's well maintained and designed store, easy access to recycling, and the friendly, helpful staff. Parking is easy. Love this store!

Friendly employees, managers are always visible if you have a problem. Store is well stocked. An example of their helpfulness is that, more than once, someone has helped me load my groceries back into the cart after I've used the self checkout.
