I am a nervous dog mom and always hesitant to have anyone else care for my high maintenance dogs. That said, Sue and her team do a great job with my Aussies. The efficiency at the drop off is amazing so the dogs don’t stress. The many photos posted make me feel assured they are out and exercising and getting sunshine! The boarding suite we get is large and comfy and my dogs come home happy, albeit tired… they seem well cared for. I also like that Sue is an earlybird so they get out early each morning! Well Run Business!

This review is a continuation to a previous review/owner's response (See review by Alycia):I can't tell if you're lying or just genuinely incompetent, but the first words out of her mouth over the phone were that we have a wolf-hybrid; that's always the first thing we share because we know there are often breed restrictions and we don't like wasting my own time. We would never have even set foot in your building if we didn't already have a "yes." We also mentioned it numerous other times when describing him and his personality because, like I said, its a pretty important piece of knowledge. So, yes. We definitely did share that information with you. How did anyone allow him time and space if he wasn't even there for five minutes? Remus is not only capable of being comfortable with other people and animals, he enjoys it. He enjoys the presence of other dogs and loves making new friends. He does not require separation from other dogs, nor did I or my girlfriend, at any point, request it-- I actually recall mentioning that being around other dogs helps him open up to people. We only requested time to adjust to new surroundings. We frequent dog parks where he regularly interacts with other dogs and people. Yes, he is standoffish in the beginning... as we said he would be. That's how he is and always will be. The whole time we were telling you about Remy, it wasn't because we like talking about the dog. We were telling you how to bond with him because if you mess up the trust-building stage, he clams back up and you have to start over. He bonds with other dogs easily, but not so much with people (as also explained). And he will tell you to back off by baring his teeth at you because that's kind of the only way he has to communicate his discomfort outside of straight up biting you. He has very good inhibitions and he did what he was supposed to that day. If a dog that size wanted you bite you, he would have. We will play in the yard WITH other dogs in June and he will be happy in a place where people are not afraid of him, even if he shows his teeth to tell them that he's uncomfortable. Lastly, this isn't about hurt "feelings," nor is this to smear a business that is otherwise seemingly competent and capable; this is an objective criticism about an obviously mishandled situation where our dog was not given a fair chance. Let this be a warning to others in a similar situation to ours, and if you do complain about your experience, the owner(s) seem all too willing to clap back with a misrepresentation of the facts instead of approaching from a more customer service oriented perspective.

Pet Bazar has been our dream come true. We have a pup who desperately needs his energy released and PB does it for him every time. The fact they fill my FB newsfeed with pics of him all day is icing on the cake. They are very knowledgeable and treat my Bowie like one of their own. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!!

My boyfriend and I dropped our dog off here for the kennel assessment (basically a temperament and behavior assessment) and literally 5 minutes after we left the building, we got a call from the general manager, who told me in some variance of "professionalism" that they could not board Remy, and that she was sorry to call so soon after us leaving, but they didn't want to waste our time. She said he would require multiple sessions over multiple weeks, and that was not possible as we live 4 hours away. I asked her what happened to make them reject him so soon. Her answer was that he hadn't actually done anything, but that he wouldn't let anyone touch him or get near him. The store owner "wasn't comfortable with it," I was told. My dog is large and nervous, as such is his nature. He is a German Shepherd/wolf mix. I have been very upfront about that since the beginning. I always am. That knowledge is a key part of understanding him. He is a different dog with different needs; he's nervous at first meet, but is very willing to interact if you give him time to process his big emotions and new surroundings first. That's all he really needs, is a little bit of time. When I read about this place online, I found it to be different from all the other kennels. Different in a good way. The general manager told me stories about how she's laid in the grass for half an hour with a dog to help them feel more comfortable. Perfect. Except it wasn't perfect, and they didn't give him more than 5 minutes before they pulled the plug, claiming they didn't want to "waste my time." Why bother telling me stories to assure me that you can handle nervous animals if you're just going to turn your back on mine after literally just 5 minutes? Also, why are you trying to put your hands on my dog not even 5 minutes after I left the building when I specifically asked you to leave him alone for a while? Why are you trying to even get near him instead of letting him adjust to suddenly being alone with strangers? I specifically asked you to ignore him after I left, just as we had when we first got there. I asked you to give him space to adjust on his own time. That's what I'm hung up on. You didn't follow directions and then made it seem like my dog needed more training. Anyway, all those questions were rhetorical. I already know the answer. It's because you're scared. Nervous + big = scary bite. On the one hand, I get it, but on the other, 5 minutes is insane, and it is not enough time to get a good read in him. You were wrong. Our story has a happy ending. There is a place 15 mins away that took him for 5 hours that day. Nervous in the beginning, but opened up and had fun. He played in the yard and really bonded with one staff member in particular. He let them leash him, which is a huge thing with him. He came out happy and tired. We have reservations there in June. In a way, I'm glad for this turnout. It angers me, the stigma it seems my dog will never get away from in his lifetime, but I'm glad to have avoided a potentially dangerous situation for him. He would never bite to be aggressive, but I would hate to see him snap in fear of someone who doesn't know how to handle a large, nervous animal. He's so beautiful and so incredibly sweet and caring, and the way this place regarded him was unfair and fueled by their own prejudice. Based on other negative reviews and their responses to them as well, it seems that if your dog does not fit into a particular "box" of behavior, they are not welcome here. I do not think this place is "bad" necessarily, but in some aspects, maybe ill-equipped. In the end, I guess I can't blame you for making the call, but at least be honest about it. You're not worried about wasting my time. You're worried about the walking liability with teeth. You're worried you can't handle him, and I think you're right with that one. You can't. And not wasting my time should have began at the first phone call with "no, we do not board wolfdogs," because you absolutely should not if that's how you received my dog.

Willoughby and Gidget absolutely love Pet Bizarre. I take them once a week for 1/2 a day to help Gidget with her insecurity around people and other dogs (Willoughby is Mr. Social). Within 2 visits, I was already noticing an improvement in her attitude. By the 4th visit, she couldn’t wait to get there to see her friends. Thanks, Pet Bizarre. 😄👍

Pet Bazaar is the absolute best place for our pups! 🐶 The facility is clean, there is plenty of shade and unlimited options for play time! If you just look at the pictures that are posted daily on Facebook, you can see how happy all dogs of different sizes are!!! Sue and her staff do any amazing job and I wouldn’t want our boys anywhere else!❤️

Strongly recommend! We've regularly taken our dog to Pet Bazaar since they first opened and cannot say enough good things about the services they provide. Their staff is professional, facility is clean and the safety and health of the dogs is clearly a top priority. They ensure the dogs are kept cool and hydrated in the summer heat using pools, a plethora of ice and sprinklers/misters throughout the yard. And have provided jackets/shelter in the winter months or rainy days. I take comfort that my dog is being well cared for even during long boarding stays. He still goes crazy at the phrase "day care" and is always a happy, tired boy when I pick him up. His, and all the dog's, daily experience is documented by the constant steam of photos uploaded to social media throughout the day; its also reassuring to see a yard full of staff in the background. Best daycare on this side of the Mississippi! It should also be mentioned that they are going above and beyond in their Covid19 procedures. Being able to provide their services during this difficult time is crucial to working families like ourselves and we are so grateful.

What a wonderful caring team Pet Bazaar employs! A new experience for me was dropping off two “grand puppies” to daycare and an overnight stay! Not used to the routine, I had one dog who required a bit of coaxing to get out of the car! Ashley and Katherine saw my struggle and immediately came to the rescue! Their kindness and gentle ability to handle “puppies and parents” was just what the situation needed! These two ladies are the best and I knew my grand puppies were going to be well taken care of! Many thanks to Ashley and Katherine for going above and beyond! Carolina Beach should be proud to have such a high quality business in its community.

There is no place we trust to take care of our Oliver. We've been going to Pet Bazaar for about a long as it's been open. Our first dog that we boarded there had special needs that required lots of meds. Sue and Jason took Drake home to take care of him. I will never forget that.

This is an easy 5 star review! Pet Bazaar is amazing. We have a 3 year old German Shepherd who goes regularly. They love him and treat him as their own. I was concerned they'd be worried about his breed even though he's a giant baby. They not only love the dogs but they learn their personality and treat them based on their needs and character. We use them for daycare and from time to time boarding. All staff members at Pet Bazaar are wonderful people and we feel very lucky to have found them. Thank you Pet Bazaar for the excellent care of our babes.

You wouldn't know it from the parking lot, but this place is HUGE! They have an amazing friendly and knowledgable staff and the whole operation is certainly geared with your pets health and comfort being the utmost of priorities. This place is certainly a cut above anything I have seen out there.

I have 2 rescue German Shepards that have been going to Pet Bazaar for several years now, I wouldn't even consider taking them someplace else. I have never been able to leave them before because of dietary special needs and I feel very comfortable knowing they are in great hands. The staff knows my dogs and treat them like there own. It is the only place that I know of that someone stays with them during the night and they have several boarding options to make your dogs feel at home. Love ❤ them!

The staff is so loving to my friends fur babies. I confuse everyone when I drop them off. But it is awesome that they can remember all of the pups and their owners! Such a loving environment for pups and the human families!

Friendly staff and my dog, Winnie, loves going there. They post plenty of pictures on Facebook to see what your mutt is doing. When she comes home, she sleeps like the dead. Obviously, she had way too much fun.

Kudos to the staff who love on the Pups as their own. Dropping off our GrandPup is a breeze as she absolutely loves her time spent at doggie day care. I love the photos posted as I can always look for her when I know she is spending the day at doggie day care. Who knew one could find such joy from the enjoyment the grand pup gets from DDC.

My dogs love coming here! I have taken my dogs many places, and they always communicate their negative experiences by refusing to look at me, and jerking away, if she hated the experience. My dogs are only happy when I board/day care with Pet Bazaar. The best part is that they have a Facebook page where they upload pics of your fur baby's day at Pet Bazaar. Check them out to see ALL the dogs SMILING!!

My dog has been coming here since a small pup. The owners and staff have been amazing in accommodating my dog's "quirks"She goes for both Daycare and Overnight stays. I cannot say enough good things about Pet Bazaar. They have been "life savers" for us both pre, during and post Covid. Thanks so all of the folks there for providing such a great place for our doggies!

An absolute treasure for tourists traveling with their dogs. Found this place last year and was so happy to use them again for our trip this year. The owners and staff are so nice. They really care for your dog and you can see how happy they are when you pick them up at night. Great location. Even bigger than last year. Super close to the beach. Just love them to death.

Thank you Pet Bazaar Family! Our Bodie has been going to "Doggy Camp" since he was 7 months old. We are so thankful for our friends recommendation years ago. He comes home exhausted and happy which we love. Looking at photos of him playing and smiling throughout the day just shows the amount of time and love he is given. Happiest place on Earth for our doodle boy...THANK YOU AGAIN PET BAZAAR!

Pet Bazaar was able to fit in our two girls (labs, Dixie and Daisy) for a short notice when my mother was passing away. Having to stay an extended amount of time with family out of town, a simple call to Sue and she and Jason were able to accommodate the girls for an entire week - no problem. Extremely cost efficient and very, very caring to our girls. There were plenty of other dogs there as well which is a sign of great pet care and allowed our girls to have plenty of friends to romp around with. If you’re looking for a single day or a place for an up coming extended family vacation without the pets, I highly recommend you give Sue and staff a call. Thanks!
