This is one of my all time favorite places for any and all animal/garden needs. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and they know everyone. They make a conscious effort to get to know their regular customers and neighbors. Not to mention they have pretty much anything you would need, at great prices! LOVE THEM!

It saddens me to say it, but this represents the last of the old Mom and Pop local feed stores. I've been here all my life, so I remember Williams Feed, Feed & Seed and other places like Miller's Hardware. This place is an institution, and I hope they can survive and prosper far into the future.

I look forward to picking up food for my chickens and pets or picking up gardening supplies, because I feel at home walking in the doors.They are also a treasure of connections for local suppliers of livestock, gardening supplies and other things. I love this place! It's a genuine country feed and seed! You can go in and have a cup of coffee and, in the winter, warm yourself by the wood stove!Tony and Terri, the owners, are warm and friendly country folks.They will happily supply any gardening and animal needs that you may have. That includes both livestock and your family pets! They carry a variety of food for cats, dogs, rabbits, just ask, they will help with whatever you need!Along the gardening line, this is one of the few places that still sell garden seeds by the ounce! They sell seed potatoes and onions by the pound!I don't know about you but, I really love this type of store! It's becoming a thing of the past. I feel really fortunate to have a genuine country store right here in Candler! Love my feed and seed...if they don't have it, they'll find it and get it for you. Owners Tony and Terry are wonderful people. Tony is a fountain of knowledge for horticulture, husbandry. If you need a handyman, house cleaner, or someone to put up a fence, he's the go to man. Not to mention, their Christmas party is awesome!!!

Not only is this the only feed retailer in WNC that carries Reedy Forks organic chicken feeds, they also have amazing customer service and very fair pricing! They'll carry out your feed bags and help you get loaded. Owner was even willing to pick up specific feeds that he doesn't stock just for me.

I live in Franklin NC and I am unable to get hay for my Nigerian Dwarf goats in my town due to shortage. Thank you so much for not only having hay but it's amazing looking and they tore it up once I got home! When we are in Asheville you have gained a new customer!! Jules~

I asked one of the male employees for advice on how to bear proof a trash can. His answer was to "gut shoot" it and let it run off into the woods. What an irresponsible thing to say to someone you do not know. Or to any one at all. That is illegal to do because getting in the trash doesn't constitute and emergency. It is also an inhumane thing to suggest. The cruelty behind that comment astounded me. I was pleased with their selection of bird food and planned on going back. Instead I will not shop locally but will go to Lowes.REPLY - It is ridiculous to think that a customer would need to ask that question of the owner. I was seeking general advice. Your employees are a reflection of the owner. If you hire someone who doesn't have people skills then that is on you. You need to train your employees better than that. I will not be coming back to your store because you put the blame back on me instead of apologizing for your employees actions.
