Stayed here a couple years ago. Very friendly staff. Quiet place, not for loud wild bunches. Showers were nice. Couldn't get ahold of anyone one the phone so pulled my camper there hoping they had a spot available. To my luck they had one spot. Willing to help direct you into your parking. Absolute best price in the area. Pet friendly, allowed small fire and corn hole but we put the boards up at dark so we didn't disturb anyone.Dog-friendliness: We brought our beagle(not a noisy one) and our lab pit mix(looks like a 85lb pit but absolute sweetheart). Had no issues at all with them.

I can see why this place has a perfect review score. It’s quiet. It’s nice. It’s peaceful. The owner is really nice. The hook ups are new and they work perfectly. I think the biggest downside to the place is if some bad campers come in here. So be nice!! Don’t come in here and be loud and annoying. It’s a wonderful place. And look at this. I didn’t expect to see this out my window.

a small privately owned campground ⛺️ 🏕quiet, homey, comfortable.a very helpful man came down to help my husband back in our large RV, we were here for one, now we are staying the week, the wildlife is amazing too!!⛱️ the Hatteras lighthouse shines directly into the campground all night, it's beautiful 😍

I’m really late reviewing as we stayed here this past summer and had the best time. This family is a treasure and we will absolutely be back. Can’t beat the location! We can’t wait for this to be our new family spot to make memories with our kids for years to come.

Not a fancy campground by no means, but it was a great campground for those that just want a quiet place to relax and meet good people. The owner Tom great guy. We stayed for a week enjoyed it so much stayed a few extra days. Will definitely go back. Thanks Tom.

I refuse to Camp anywhere else on Buxton. The Owners are Incredible. Bathhouses are Spotless. Ponds are filled with turtles. You'll wake up to deer outside the door of your tent. And the beach is in walking distance if you aren't lazy. ✌️ Can't wait for Summer.

Found this campground, a hidden gem. Great for an overnight or two. Excellent for a smaller RV or Truck-camper. Super clean, maintained and awesomely friendly host. Close to everything including Orange Blossom Bakery. Loved it here at Island Hide away. Our next trip back to hattaras we will be staying here. Thank you!

Outter banks hidden jem. This place was great for an over night or two. Perfect for small RV/truck camper/small pull behind. Water/power, nice spots great bath house and the family that runs it is super friendly. It about a 10 to 15 min drive to the beach. Off season this place is a must.Price was great. I will be back here again soon.

Stayed here twice, 2010 and 2011. Great place, very low key. Owners are great and relaxed. As long as you're responsible you'll have no issues. Bathrooms were good, clean. Multiple stalls available.Would highly recommend for a quick camp weekend, good walking distance to a lot of places. GO TO ORANGE BLOSSOM BAKERY!

We were referred to this campground by the Shell station gentleman and glad we went. The Cape Point campground was closed from the storm so we were forced short notice to find somewhere. The had a nicer bathroom area with showers private tent camping and a laid back charm that you don't get at KOA or other high-strung sites!

Stay there every time we go. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Owner just upgraded drains,water lines,power boxes,and cable. Now everthing new. And he made more room in his sites
