It is a typical Dollar General with usual to slightly high prices as compared to going to the grocery store. It's a nice place to stop if you need a few items quickly and you don't want to spend 20 minutes going to an actual grocery store. The people are pretty indifferent to your existence. One sales person unexpectedly stepped between people in my party as we were walking close to each other in a line (so that was awkward and I almost ran into her) to pickup something off a shelf, fool with it, and walk away. She didn't look at us, say anything, excuse herself, or make any kind of pleasantries. I guess I am finding the lack of customer service to be disheartening lately. It seems to be a theme. I get it, there was/is a pandemic...that doesn't mean we throw kindness to the wind.

I can ride my bike to the Dollar General in less than 15 minutes, making it very convenient. I go there at least once a week. The staff is very friendly and they have a bit of everything. I actually do a lot of grocery shopping there. We are at the beach so during the summer they have everything that a visitor might need as well as staples for the locals. I had never really shopped at this kind of store before I moved to the island but now I can't imagine what I would do without them. Highly recommended!

I wished I could give this DG 0 stars! Wow.I’ve never had such HORRIBLE customer service in my life. While on vacation I had to stop here for something quick, I sent my sister in law inside to get the 3 items that were needed, I had pulled into the handicap parking for a brief moment to let her out, I had a screaming baby in the back seat and a tray of coffees on my lap and was trying to reposition so that I could move to a different spot but before I was able to do so the 1 employee (I wished that I would have caught her name) came running outside (while having a line full of customers) yelling at me in front of my children saying that I did not have a handicap tag and I needed to move NOW as I was trying to explain to her that I was moving as soon as I help my baby calm down and place the drinks on the seat she yelled in my face that she was calling the law and then proceeded to go into the store and yelled across the store to all of the that whoever was with my described vehicle needed to leave. I am mind blown that this lady acted this way! It was TOTALLY unacceptable. I do see that I shouldn’t have parked there but there’s way more professional way to have handled the situation.

Thank you for being open later at night when we were visiting during spring break! The store is big and organized. I loved that I ran in and asked for rice and the sales person knew specifically where I needed to go. I was able to save the hubby's cell phone after he had gone hot tubbing with it!

I am so happy this store is here for last minute snacks, drinks, meds, etc. Very convenient! It's very clean and well-stocked. We decided later in the evening two seperate nights that we wanted snacks, and despite the fact that it was almost closing time and there was a lot of people shopping, the cashiers were super friendly, efficient, and upbeat.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I understand the store was a bit messy when I was there due to a large shipment being unloaded and stocked. Unfortunately, my complaint is with the person at the checkout counter only wearing a face shield, but no mask, with a terrible cough. Had she started coughing prior to my purchase, I may have walked out, but this was all in the midst of my purchase. Thankful I asked for no bag, no receipt, paid by card and I was wearing my mask, so hopefully no exchange of whatever she might have been having issue with. And honestly, if you are truly sick- stay home or wear a mask and face shield - esp in this season!

Went to buy 2 bags of ice and parked by the ice freezer to put them in. then I left my truck there to pay for them and while I was paying they both jumped on me about parking there and they were VERY RUDE about it my wife.in the truck at the time they also attacked her about it and they were told my husband just had foot surgery and could not walk very well so they told her to move it and can't drive she had back surgery but they were so rude about it so my wife told them we would never stop here again guess what they said they didn't care. I guess you don't need the business they could have said it in a nicer way. So now I tell everyone so you will lose more business but I guess you don't care either. Sunday 5/15/2022

Staff seemed bothered when you asked them a question, the older woman at the checkout counter was one of the most rudest people I’ve encountered (the other one was friendly), overstuffed the thin plastic bags so about 1/4 of them ripped open and things fell out. I will never return to this store.

Maybe it's all in a name, but they don't generally seem to care about getting your dollars here. The staff training seems lacking, the aisles are tighter than a wet doorjamb, and you're gonna be the first customer the cashier has ever served, every time.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. This is the most unorganized, unfriendly, over priced place I have ever been. The staff was extremely rude and everything was all over the place, the floor, the halls, you can hardly move around in here. I IMPLORE you to go shop locally, you’ll get reasonably priced items and a friendly conversation!

Great prices.. Convenient hours of operation... Cashiers are very friendly and helpful... Check out is a little slow, even in the off season, due to lack of cashiers... Good variety of household goods, pet food and supplies, cleaning supplies, lots of storage containers, lowest priced cigs(that I know of), beach supplies, toys, baby needs, medicines and health and wellness section... Best 1 stop shop on Hatteras Island for sure... Don't have fresh fruits and veggies or meat selection....

I'm local and there is never enough people to put stock on shelves which means shelves are left empty and never enough people at the registers. Today had 9 people in front of me and this is typical! For a store that does such good business you sure are under staffed!

Bought a wine bottle opener in the spur of the moment and when we went to use it it bent out of shape and then it fell apart.🤣🤣🤣 The corkscrew broke inside the cork so we ended up prying it out with a knife. Good thing is they exchanged it. We got cookies. They were hard 🤣

Friendly staff just not enough of them. Busy store with only one register opened. Also store is hard to get around there is too much merchandise stacked around front end makes it hard to shop especially when the store is busy.
