We were in OBX for the week and ate here 4 times. I’m vegan and didn’t really know what to expect but I was shocked to find they had not one, but THREE vegan dinner options, and they are all incredible. The coconut rice bowl with the black garlic teriyaki is to die for and the flavors are so balanced and well layered. I was super impressed also with the Thai curry ramen, which had a decent kick and a beautiful heartiness. I added tofu to both and was very satisfied. My partner tried the shrimp and grits, the tuna dish, the mussels, the soft shell crab special and a few appetizers and was very pleased. The portion sizes are super substantial and their cocktail menu is unique and delicious. We tried the bonfire by the sea, the mermosa and the blood orange jalapeño margarita. AND THE AMBIANCE!! Watching the sunset with family while you eat is pretty hard to beat. Also they are dog friendly and brought our babies water and pieces of bacon. The service was stellar and they will be our first stop the next time we come back.Vegetarian options: Coconut rice bowl, fully dreamyThai ramen, could swim in it

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere, love that it overlooks the bay. They have their own garden that they grow fresh veggies and fruit! Vegan friendly menu, waitress was kind and attentive. We had a great casual fine dining experience. I do wish their fresh bread was vegan & hope to see them innovate and experiment with new vegan dishes on their menu in the future as we will definitely be coming back next year!

This place is a hidden gem. A small quaint restaurant with a view of the water and incredible view as well as a garden to walk through.(They even have a boat to dock into and tie up if you wanted to drop in. )

While staying at the Inn we had breakfast all three mornings of our stay. Absolutely delicious! There was no need for us to go anywhere else, you won’t find any where better. The views from inside as well as the deck are breathtaking! We tried different things from the menu each day and I can’t pick a favorite because everything I had was my favorite. Each morning they had a different specialty pancakes, my husband tried a different one each morning. Apple pie, white chocolate raspberry and cinnamon bun flavored, oh my goodness they all melt in your mouth!I had the specialty omelet that was packed with crab meat and goat cheese… heaven! The staff is so friendly yet also formal, making it a high end experience. On our last night we had dinner. My brother and his girlfriend, who are locals joined us. It was fabulous! Our waiter was so professional and on top of everything. We had two starters and salads, delicious! Then our meals came out and let me tell you, best meal I have ever had. We ate like kings and queens! The details in the design of the outdoor deck is impressive and the lighting creates such a romantic ambiance. The attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. If you are on the island and don’t eat here… you have no idea what you are missing!Vegetarian options: There is so much to choose from on the menu and the staff and chef are willing to make modifications if need be.Dietary restrictions: The staff and chef are amazing. If there are any modifications that need to be made, they are willing to do what is needed!Parking: Plenty of places to park. They even have Tesla charging stations.

Went during off peak season, had a reservation and they took us early (not busy). The staff were very nice and knowledgeable of their menu. We landed on Wednesday which happened to be half price bottles of wine. The apps were a risotto cheese ball (like a round cheese stick) and the cheese pull was great! The other one was fried tuna bites and they were awesome, very meaty and fresh and breading was excellent. My main course meal photos never saved to my phone (very disappointed).... We had catch of the day - baked Sheepshead fish and a grilled sea scallop pasta. Everything was great.

The food was great. My wife and I shared lobster bisque and a Sonoma salad in order to sample more items. Both were delicious. I had the tuna and my wife had the daily catch. Both were spectacular, cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I always require additional salt and pepper because a lot of chefs don’t know how to season food. Not this time. There were no salt and pepper shakers on the table and none were needed. Great atmosphere had a musician playing guitar at the “right” volume to hear the music but not hard to carry on a conversation. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

We were sat waterfront for our Anniversary dinner; wait staff acknowledged our special occasion many times. Service was attentive and helpful. Tuna Tataki appetizer; scallops, yellow grouper were all delicious. Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was very tasty! This was a great choice in Southern OBX for a special occasion meal .SAVOR LOCALLY SOURCED COASTAL CUISINEAt Cafe Pamlico, Hatteras Island’s premier casual fine dining restaurant, our mission is to provide a memorable dining experience through exceptional food, detail oriented service, an inspired wine and cocktail program, and gracious attentive Southern hospitality.Parking: Walk up a hill to get to restaurant

Good place to stop. Really nice staff which was so worth it! The views speak for itself. Food is average. Came for Sunday breakfast, small portions $56 for 2 people. Hubby had amazing shrimp and grits, I should of got that. It was delicious. I had chicken and waffles but didn't really like it, waffles were hard. 2 pieces of chicken strips, I left hungry. Dessert was ok, not great enough to finish. Would like to come back and try dinner though. It's a peaceful place.

Ate at a few places while on vacation in the Outer Banks and Cafe Pamlico was the best! Both the food and drinks were excellent, service was good, and the atmosphere was great! I highly recommend their Filet Neptune entrée. The meat and sides were incredible and full of flavor! The Brussel sprouts and Bang Bang clam strips appetizers were excellent as well. If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot in Buxton, you can't do better than Cafe Pamlico!

Incredible experience. Every single staff member we spoke to was really kind, food was great. If I have to critique I would say the salmon I ordered wasn’t to my personal liking (I felt as though it wasn’t as much food as the others for around the same price point but I’m just assuming that’s because of the cost of the salmon, I also didn’t mention this to the waitress because I figured I wouldn’t be able to send it back for something different, it wasn’t a big deal) I wish I remembered the waitresses name because she was awesome. Location is great not many restaurants on the island are right on the water, and some of the ones that are don’t feel as comfortable as this one. The staff was also busy with a beautiful wedding but still made us feel welcome and accommodated. Chose this place to celebrate my birthday since I’ve been to most other restaurants on the island except here and it was a great first impression. Don’t let the obscure location fool you, it’s a hidden gem!

Great place to have breakfast. I think the best breakfast during our vacation.Bloody Mary was very good (they have a variety of Bloody Maries). Californian Eggs Benedict were yummy and even plain eggs with sausage was great. Definitely coming back and want to book their hotel room too.

We came to have a romantic date night and try their vegan menu. The level of service here is a dying art, these are truly professionals. The only reservation spot available was 830 (when they close at 9) but we never felt rushed. Cucumber gimlet cocktails were delish. It’s such a delight to have several vegetable-centric plant based options to choose from, not just a beyond burger. We got the coconut rice and the curry. Veggies and rice were cooked to perfection. Great flavor profiles on both, the coconut rice was our favorite.Vegetarian options: Vegan menu available

My husband and I were married at the Inn 10 years ago so it has a special place in our hearts. We recently returned for our 10th wedding anniversary. While there we had 2 breakfasts (included with your room) and a dinner at Cafe Pamlico. The service was top-notch. Shout-out to Aylah, Justin, Willow and Sailor. The breakfast menu was fresh and exciting - lots of different options. I enjoyed a tangy lox bagel (salmon cured on-site) with fried capers one morning and a crab omelette with sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese and spinach the next. I wish the omelette had been a tad bigger, but Justin graciously brought me an additional side dish; I couldn't resist ordering a fried egg topped with their homemade hollandaise. They also have an extensive list of breakfast beverages and cocktails. It was enjoyable but I probably wouldn't return for breakfast unless staying at the inn.The evening of our dinner, Sailor made the generous accommodation of giving us an indoor table contrary to her original plan. We had dressed up and frankly wore too heavy of clothes. Willow presented the nightly specials with ease and clarity. Having worked in fine dining I know how challenging this can be for a server. I enjoyed a blood orange Moscow Mule off the mocktail menu and my husband ordered a local craft beer. They also brought out a basket of ciabatta with a lovely balsamic - tasted like a reserve. This was actually my favorite part of the meal. We started with the cafe lobster and spinach dip appetizer. I would have liked a bit more flavor as well as a bit more lobster. For an entree I simply had to have the kale caesar - boasting heirloom tomatoes, garlic and bacon - topped with a crab cake. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with the salad. I enjoy a *bite!* from my Caesar salads with lots of anchovy and garlic, neither of which I was able to detect. There was also very little bacon on the salad. The crab cake was delicious but on the smaller side; I would have ordered more food had I known. I will say that the quality of the food itself is top-notch, and they even grow some of their produce and herbs on-site. Their seafood especially is of excellent quality, which brings me to my husband's entree. He ordered seared tuna - Market Price $40 - which was accompanied by (coconut?) rice with a mango pico of sorts. He was tickled with his choice. This is a nice venue and great for a special evening.Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegan options - well done, y'all!

I have never been to Cape Hatteras. I've always wanted to see the lighthouses there. Sunday morning, around 8 a.m., breakfast suddenly became priority #1, so I decided on Cafe Pamlico. I just want to take the time to express my gratitude to the attentive service and quality of food. Most importantly, I want to give a very big, warm thank you to Anne for a job well done. She went above and beyond the call of duty as my watris. I am very delighted and had a pleasant experience. I cannot wait to come back here next year! Cafe Pamlico is a fantastic place to have breakfast! Highly recommend!- Joseph.San Diego California

Absolutely amazing view, wonderful live music, and delicious, beautifully presented food. It was the perfect restaurant for our Anniversary! Thank you so much!! Make sure you call ahead to get the best views. I thought it might be too hot sitting outside, but the breeze coming off the water was nice, and the breath-taking sunset was something I will never forget! 💗And, yes they have vegetarian food too, and it is delicious and filling.

The perfect restaurant to celebrate our anniversary! This was me and my husband’s first time here and we absolutely loved it. Great location, beautiful sunset and delicious food. Highly recommend the tuna entree. The fresh catch tonight (speckled trout) was also fantastic!! Would definitely come here again next time we visit the area.

Way too expensive for food that is just OKAY.Definitely not worth the price. It also took way too long, especially with kids — we arrived at 6 and didn’t leave until after 8:30. The metal chairs were super high off the ground and super uncomfortable to be sitting in for that long.Edit: It was brought to my attention by the restaurant that we in fact closed out our check closer to 8:00 than 8:30. So my apologies, for my inaccuracy there. Still, with children, two hours anywhere is a long time, so I just wouldn’t recommend bringing kiddos if that is the norm.In response to the restaurant’s comment about having specifically requested to be seated outside, having never been there before how were we supposed to know the outdoor dining would be as uncomfortable as our entire group felt it was?I will say that when we had to call the restaurant later that evening when we noticed we were accidentally charged $40 for a single glass of wine, the woman on the phone was very helpful and got that corrected within the next business day.But I still stand by the comment that our group all agreed we had much more enjoyable food at comparably priced AND at less expensive restaurants. It wasn’t bad, just not what we expected for the price we were paying. And to the restaurant’s comment about me leaving another negative review for another local business in an effort to make it sound like I’M the problem… there are literal photos of multiple cockroaches and mold attached to that review 🤪

A hidden gem in the heart of paradise! This restaurant won’t disappoint you from it’s breathtaking views, super friendly staff and beyond amazing food! We started with 2 cocktails, the Uncle Dilly and the Mae Cherry Limeade and they were perfect. For an appetizer we had fried green tomato and the Brie bites 200% recommend those dishes! For dinner we had pan seared tuna and the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was the best I’ve ever had! The tuna came over a bed of summer risotto and was just divine. We finished the night with the homemade cheesecake with a fresh berry compote and it was as delicious and it sounds! This restaurant far exceeds any expectation and is beautiful for a romantic date night!Edited to add that I actually ended up getting engaged here 1 year later! Truly the best place on earth!

The breakfast is complimentary with a night at the Inn. The food is really tasty and you can tell it is all very fresh. Dinner is much more of an experience as the chef makes specials where the presentation and quality of the food is incredibly unique. Portions are a little small for the price and the drink prices are a bit lofty. It's hard to beat the view of the water from a window seat so it is worth paying the extra money for an experience.
