Very pleasant experience here. We got fresh fish and oysters two days in a row thanks to their recommendation to return because they’d be getting Cobia in. Did not disappoint. I understand the bad reviews are from a while ago. It is under new ownership and the folks there were friendly and polite. Fresh fish, the place was clean and smelled nice!

We went today on a road trip and on our return, we stopped by seeing greats review. Well, let say that we had a very great service and the tuna was freshly fished from the sea. Thank you so mush guys! We made the best tartar with it.

Had not been in a year (not a great experience) or so but after hearing was under new ownership decided to give them another shot. So so pleased that we did! Super friendly staff and the shrimp and grouper we bought was top notch!!!

Nice little spot to get your seafood for the night. They didn't have much to offer at the time (off-season) but the wahoo and clams I did get were delicious and fresh. They have way more to offer during in season months.

Very good selection of seafood for how quaint this place is. Red snapper, flounder, grouper, shrimp... we got several pounds of shrimp but the rest of it looked really good, fresh! Decent amount of basic fishing gear, various dips, hot sauces and souvenirs. Woman behind the counter was pleasant. Definitely recommend!

Great local place for seafood. Highly recommend visiting if your local or just visiting for vacation. But be warned no public restrooms.The owners at Buxton Seafood have common sense.

The seafood looks good but the woman working behind the counter was extremely rude and miserable. My boyfriend asked her a question and she was so snippy and rude to him. I would say anywhere else you could get better service. I don’t care how good the fresh seafood is.

We were looking for fresh sea scallops and them at Buxton Seafood. The owner waited on us; personable and helpful. The scallops were delicious!Easy to find, right on Highway 12. Good variety of fresh seafood and large selection of seasonings. Our go-to for fresh seafood!

Great selection and prices on seafood sauces. You can even buy alligator meat. Very friendly staff makes this a go to place for seafood.

We weren't having much luck catching too many crabs. A local told us to go ask for Bennett. He is there 7 days a week. We asked for a bushel. He said to be back the next day at 11. He had the crabs ready and steamed. They were AMAZING!! Go ask for Bennett, he was Awesome!!

The absolute freshest and best tasting tuna I've had at the beach! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and although my husband and I frequently visit Hatteras and stay in Frisco, we will definitely be continuing our fresh seafood shopping with Buxton Seafood. Wonderful!

I’ve been coming here my whole life and I have never experienced such rude service. They acted miserable to see a customer and even more miserable to serve. I know working in the service industry can present hard days but it takes a lot to make sure all of your customers leave unsatisfied with a sprinkle of misery after spending 5 minutes inside.

Stopped in to grab some shrimp and scallops, and it was a cute little shop! Everything smelled sweet and fresh and not too fishy which is a green flag for me.

We ordered a bushel of crabs and 10# of steamed shrimp. Both seasoned and cooked perfectly. The owners were such a sweet couple. I highly recommend if your in the area!

Great place to purchase seafood!! We called around 11am and placed an order for 2 dozen steamed blue crabs for 6pm :) Called 20 min before we arrived ans picked up hot steamed crabs- they were great! The owner is very nice and has reasonable prices! I highly recommend Buxton Seafood!

Good selection of fresh seafood, and a friendly and helpful staff. I suspect that they are a family owned business. Their fresh made cocktail sauce is incredible! It has a lot of pop from the fresh horseradish

If I could rate it a 0 I would. Have been coming here for years and always had wonderful service and great product but this year it was totally different. The woman who waited on us was miserable. We asked for sushi grade fish and she just grunted at us about the tuna. Then we asked again and she said yeah like we were bothering her. We interrupted her smoke break that we may purchase their product but she seemed put out. She did not wash her hands before she cut our "sushi" grade fish even though we had met her in the front porch smoking. Nor did she clean the cutting board nor knife. How can we trust as place such as this? We will never return to Buxton Seafood

Everything here is fresh and reasonably priced. People are helpful and friendly. The flounder will bring you to your knees. Just wish the Trump signs and Fox News weren’t part of the package.

Just finished our delicious dinner. Steamed shrimp, scallops and mahi. Great place, placed order in the morning and was ready to be picked up in the evening. Highly recommend for fresh seafood.

Stopped here on our way back to Rodanthe from Hatteras. Picked up 3 lbs of shrimp. Great price per pound. They also had scallops, clams, red snapper and flounder. The shrimp were so fresh and delicious. Will be back on our next trip to OBX.
