Well I was told by a customer that I could get a bag full of clothes for $7.00 I was looking for pants and ended up with some tops to match all for less than the price of one item would have cost in a regular retail store and I know I can't afford to shop in those places.If you fold your clothes real nice you can get a lot in a bag. And that's not all they have this place is bigger than it looks it has a downstairs which has bigger items such as furniture and they sell just about anything. Somedays you might find a lot and some days nothing. They got pretty costume jewelry and shoes and it all goes to help animals yes that's right the proceeds from you purchase are used to help poor dogs and cats find homes.And if you have to many clothes lying around your closet well they accept clothes and furniture donations (please only good items)and they are a tax write off.so everyone wins. come on down check it out or donate but come down to Barking Basement in Burnsville,N.C.

Super awesome thrift/resale store that supports the Yancey County Animal Shelter. Lots of items with great prices ranging from clothing, shoes, books, portraits, craft items, pet items, and household items. I came home with multiple books, a toilet paper stand, and a couch today! Highly recommend.

Great cause! I’ve found several unique furniture pieces there, for creative refurbishment and home use. Well organized and daily special markdowns keep things moving and interesting. Although I don’t shop the clothing section, frequent bag sales seem to keep the selection fresh and staff is friendly and efficient.

After our breakfast at Pig & Grits, we walked across the street to the Barkin' Basement Resale store. This place is HUGE! Good selection of items: books, furniture, housewares, home decor (whole room of holiday) and clothes/shoes. We couldn't pass up some good bargains. Very friendly people working here. Good quality items.

Dirty, unorganized. I'm sure you could find that needle if you had a year to peruse such a large haystack, but not me. How hard is it to keep clothes in their correct section? Or to label shoes sizes?

Great thrift store for a great cause. The staff are always super nice and there's usually a decent selection & good deals. There's not a ton of clothing but there is a lot of furniture in the back of the store.

Love your store, I live in SW VA, and always go to your store 1st when visiting Burnsville! I always find a nice pottery piece to add to my collection. Great prices, interesting finds, nice staff!

Great prices and great people with quality lightly used or even new merchandise. Proceeds going to the local shelter to help pay for some of the cost that the babies (big and small) may need to help rehome that special fur baby. Worth the time to see what's new every week!

They have an amazing assortment of everything you could imagine. However they have recently gone up in price of a lot of their donated items. I understand that all proceeds go to the human society and that is a wonderful cause but $3 for a used bath towl and $3 for a candle that is burned half way down the jar is a bit ridiculous. Also the volunteers are rude and unpleasant. I was very disappointed and didn't buy anything and don't plan on shopping there anytime in the near future.

The pricing of the items in this store are way off. I can't understand why everything is so high. If all of the items are donated, and the money is going to charity, why price them so high? It’s like the people pricing the items have never been poor and have no idea what its like to be unable to afford brand new items - which is why we go to thrift stores in the first place.There are never any men's clothes worth a toot, but they do have an extensive laser disk selection.

I found a skirt with a purple pattern, a solid matching top to go with it and also purple shoes. In addition, I bought an audio book for $.25. I enjoyed shopping here but the staff needs to be more friendly when shoppers first come in.

I don't recommend this place for anyone. My husband and I needed a keyboard for our computer immediately. We found one and it was at least 10 years old and the price was 25.00. I found an employee to see if they would take 15.00 and it wasn't even worth that. He was so rude and said it was actually worth 30.00. I showed him the value of it on my phone. He said then order it.

Always kind and helpful.unlike there sister store The safe Place in spruce pine.we weren't allowed our 5 year old last week in spruce pine to use their restroom during our shopping when we had an urgent need to go.but the dollar general up the sidewalk welcomed our 911 no questions asked.thank you barkin basement for great experiences.

Prices are extremely high. It is for a good cause but with such ridiculous prices it's hard for the average working person to purchase anything in there when you could get it in a retail store for less on much of their merchandise
