If they had an option for negative stars, I would have given it. I would hate to imagine how much this staff costs this company in lost revenue each year.I drove 1.5 hours out of my way because this was the only location short of SC that had the compressor in stock I wanted.Come to find out that they sell the compressor but not the oil to use it. I believe the lady helping me was the manager. Needless to say, she seemed completely uninterested in coming up with a viable solution or improving inventory for the next customer in the same predicament. She was completely uneducated about the products they carry, full of excuses and inaccurate information. She even advised me that the manual "probably just calls for honda Oil" in a Kohler engine. I'm sure this would have voided any warranty offered. I gave up on finding any viable information and opted to purchase the compressor (unusable) by itself and source the proper lubricants on my own.When the Gentleman brought my compressor around back on the fork lift, it was too wide to fit between wheel wells in the direction he had it placed. Instead of putting it down and turning it 90 degrees, he sat on the fork lift and watched me (With a post operation boot, 3 days after foot surgery) fight a several hundred pound compressor up and over the wells to turn it the correct direction. He never once offered to help.Needless to say, I'd drive to California, or better yet, shop at a different company before I will EVER do business with this location again!$3,200.00 spent, and this was the service I received!

I had ordered a raised garden bed in the spring. I received clear communication from the store in regards to its expected arrival, and then after it got to the store. It was fairly heavy and an associate carried it to the car for me. He was helpful and friendly, and we chatted about gardening on the way out. All in all, a very pleasant shopping experience. I've since purchased more beds from the Burlington store and will look forward to picking them up when they get there.

I just visited this store. I asked cashier for assistance. She called for help to aisle 2 numerous times. I was in store almost hour. This is the 2nd time I visited this store with poor customer service. First was 2 years ago and we spent $15k but because of our race kept getting overlooked until they realized I'm a commercial customer. Smh. It's said. Cashier was great trying today.

Was in your stored this afternoon, 3:00PM, to get carburetor repaired and purchase the truck/SUV instant garage advertised in flyer received in mail. Walked in no one at checkout or anywhere else to be seen. After about 5 minutes a lady shows up, by the look on her face knew she was not happy to be there and most likely wasn't going to be much help, I was correct. Asked about repair , response "we don't do that" questioned again "we don't do that anymore, after several more questions she told me the person quit a couple week ago. Asked about instant garage, she knew nothing about it, showed her the flyer, "if we have it it will be over there. Determined I was going to purchase, went back to checkout, associate 00099 was still there. Asked about help loading, response I guess we could get someone. Call on radio "someone in sales come to front when you get a chance"! Not customer waiting or needs assistance.After 15 minutes we departed. Without a doubt she was the rudest, non helpful person that I have meet in your store. Still want the garage, guess I will try another store. Great way to treat a veteran!Jeff BrooksMaj. USMC Retired

I experienced racism with two cashiers from this store, one of them did not want to help me when buying a drill kit, she just looked at me and I was calling her to give me the product and she did not pay attention to me, she just He looked at me and his other partner laughed as if he was making fun of me and it took him like 30 minutes to attend to me. I had never experienced discomfort when buying a product that I needed to buy for my work

This is my second visit to this location in a week. Live in Greensboro but this is a convenient location when I'm on the road. I couldn't have been anymore pleased then my visit here. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager whom help me with my purchases. She's very knowledgeable about the area in which I was visiting this location for today. Pressure washers and accessories. She was hands on and pleasant. I would drive from Greensboro to this location for anything I need. One is bc the cashier's and management seem to be all about customer service. I didn't even care about the prices bc of the service. I must say I really felt special on both of my visits. The first visit was about 10 minutes before closing. They wanted to get out on time but still manned the take care of my needs quickly. I must say thanks to the cashier and manager that helped me. Both were ladies and I was pleased....

This business will gladly take your money online and then not ship for over a month without contacting you. I have contacted the local store where my order was supposed to be shipped and was assured that they would contact me and leave a message when my order arrived. Very poor customer experience.

My customer service experience here was not the best on 3-22-21. I asked several times for assistance while being looked over and never receiving assistance. However, new customers coming into the store recieved immediate attention. Unfortunately, the only explanation I could gather was that I'm an African-American seeking assistance. We have to become a better nation and get a handle on this racial divide. From corporate to sole proprietors please screen your staff properly as well as follow up. Never make the mistake of focusing on PROFIT over CUSTOMER no matter the color of their skin. Where there is NO CUSTOMER there is NO PROFIT!

I went there for wheels for my yard wagon. Didn't have exactly what I was looking for but had something that worked. One caution. The price I paid was not what was on the shelf. Someone moved the merchandise or it was put on the wrong shelf by the stocker. Be prepared to either be surprised or disappointed. Either way they give a good value and have a wide selection.

So I purchased a pressure washer in south Carolina (close to my job)but came to Reidsville nc to do washing for my aunt..pressure washer didn't work so the closet place was Burlington..took it back and exchanged it..left got back to my aunt's house..this one didn't work..sooo back to Burlington I go..Tim Collins (i hope that's right)..helped out and explained why corrected the problem and I left..get back to my aunt's and used for about 30 minutes cut it off to do something else..went back to fire it up and nothing..soooo back to Burlington I go..lol..I get the and a guy (didn't get his name but I think he was the store manager)remembered me from earlier..I MUST SAY THAT THIS GUY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP ME 😀 👍 😊 I WOULD LIKE TO THANK HIM AND WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN TOOL!!!!...GREAT JOB GUYS..YOU REALLY GAVE ME GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE..THANK YOU!!!!!@

Service SUCKS! Watched two employees in the aisles leave one employee struggling alone to keep up with the endless line of customers at the register. Waited in line to ask the cashier about picking up a ship-to-store order, and she called for it using her radio. Fifteen minutes later and still nothing, so she calls for the order again. After forty minutes of waiting patiently, one of the men asked if I had been helped, and I told him I was waiting over a half hour for someone to bring my order out front. He walked to the back and got it in less than 2 minutes, asked me to sign for it and said I was good to go. No apology for the wait or horrible service, nothing. Really surprising considering he was wearing an Assistant Manager tag. I simple "sorry for your wait" would have gone a long way. I don't often shop here and will NEVER shop here again!!!

I ordered a bandsaw online and did a pickup at this store. The bandsaw was ready when I arrived, loaded quickly, smooth experience.When I got it home, after unpacking it turned out that some genius that packed up the crate thought this saw only needed 3 of the 4 wheels. I called the store and talked to the manager about getting another wheel. I was really just expecting to get a wheel in the next couple of days mailed to me, I could have gotten by with it on the floor. The manager actually went to another machine, figured out by part number that it was a match for my saw, and personally delivered it to me almost an hour away. I also mentioned that the blade that comes with this saw is a piece of junk and failed in the first 10 minutes. He brought me a new blade at no cost as well. I don't think you could ask for better customer service.This is why I've shopped with this company since the old Northern Hydraulics days.

If store is out of stock I always get the same story "7-10 days". Store attitude seems as your bothering them when a question is asked. And do not attempt to go inside the store within 15 minutes of closing, they will make sure you know the closing time in a rude way. Also, cannot order online then pick-up in store same day, even store stock items guess what.... "7-10 days. I really do not understand how this store stays open! A true reflection on management or lack of!

When I placed a pick up order very friendly on phone but when went to pick. One work I looked at and said wanted to inspect before we left as we drove 55 minutes to get here. He looked at me and said good luck finally he cut the straps and walked off but another worker came over with a cutter and helped get it out of box. I will go to another store again if need anything else

I have been sitting on this for a week now but it’s bothered me to a point where i’d like to share. On a day not too long ago that i entered northern tool with an african american friend of mine, i was there to visit an employee who i know personally. Upon doing so i heard from their little radio or “walkie talkie” that an “extra set of eyes was requested on the floor”. and oddly enough the spot where they requested extra eyes happen to be where my friend and i were located while waiting for the employee i was visiting, when the employee came out they presented us to a lady waiting for us at the front named “Amy” (the lady on the radio) when asked if we were the problem she was referring to, she stated yes, and i was in complete shock. i’ve noticed there’s been other reviews about racism from the stabling ent and personally at this point i’ve accepted it as poor management, it’s utterly ridiculous that i as a black man can’t walk comfortably into norther tool without getting put in some type of stereotype that i or my friend would be prone to steal, and i’m disgusted. filter your hiring options and next time hire those who could actually make northern tool worth going to, it’s not this hard to run a positive work environment, do better

Went there to buy a chainsaw at first it seemed they where sold out after talking with a rep i was informed they had over 40 in the back there just not on display. I proceeded to by the chainsaw i was looking for. The store has to build the saw and start it in store before they sell it to you this lead me to waiting around while doing so i started talking to a guy that was buying a 700$ saw. He had been wait about 45 minutes then he just said screw it and left. I was waiting on the saw for about 30 minutes and i seen the rep i talk to about the saw he said " its being built now" about 30 minutes later i went to the front of the store an asked the cashier about the saw she got on the radio and asked him about the saw and he said " i been on phone call with customers ect ect" turns out he lied and never even got the saw off the shelf. In the end i sat there waiting an hour+ i just told the cashier i was not waiting longer an left. Props to the cashier tho after she found out the situation she tried to go build the saw herself but the guy responsible for it would not let her. I will never go there to buy equipment again within an hour of me being the i and another customer walked out with them lossing over 1000$ in potential sales.

I purchased a horizontal band saw here. Some issues arose when they assembled it but the manager corrected them to my satisfaction. He walked me through the steps on operating the machine. I found his attitude professional and genuinely sincere.

Staff at Burlington NC store was very helpful. I live 24 miles from the store, they confirmed they had a Milwaukee cordless chain saw in stock, set it aside, I bought it. Used the saw. FANTASTIC! Better than my Stihl. Now I'm purchasing an extra HD12 battery, with a gift card. Online service helped me do that. Having the aforementioned battery delivered to my door, no shipping fee, no drive to Burlington. Great service. Looked up the business online, discovered it's a family operated business operated out of the Milwaukee. Would return again. The Burlington, NC store is amazing. Glad to discover it.

This was my first time at Northern tool. Someone came up to me and asked how they could assist me. I told them what I needed and I was in and out in about 2-3 minutes. I've never had this good service! Easy access and parking for people with disabilities.
