Ice cream was great… although we did not have cash and the cash machine was not working. Thankfully we had a check book in our bag, otherwise I am not sure how we would have paid! We were told it was cash only after our children were hovering up their ice cream!! Which was a little stressful!Cute location, super fun.Don’t forget your cash!!

Everywhere we go my husband gets a vanilla milkshake (so he can judge fairly across the board he claims). This was one of his favorites!Great atmosphere. Fantastic service and I enjoyed a delicious Carmel sundae.

This was such a fun, awesome place to visit! The staff were very friendly. I got the fudge chocolate ice cream and I have been thinking about it ever since! So delicious! I wish I had some right now! I want to visit this place again the next time we visit the town.

*Cash only* but that's not a problem. The ice cream was so nice we had to visit twice during our vacation. Everyone was friendly and even though it does seem to get busy, I didn't feel rushed. Hope to come back another time.

Located conveniently on Everett Street, close to the Smoky Mountain Railroad.It tries to evoke a bit of nostalgia, the ice cream parlor of yesteryear.It's small with a couple tables inside.We enjoyed a Mayfield brand sundae and it was pretty good.The employees were friendly keeping a good flow in this busy location.Worth a stop for a sundae or just a cone.

Edited from my original review with an extra star as well 😊The ice cream was great I got the banana split and my wife got the brownie sundae or something like that. The young men working the counter were very friendly to us on a busy time when we were there. One even took the time to apologize for the wait which was very considerate of him. It is cash only here which is understandable in today's tough times I can't blame them. I'd recommend a sign on the counter also where the ice cream is displayed in addition to the register just to help customers be more likely to see it before getting their order. I do understand that it's mentioned on social media however I didn't look up the business on social media and visitors to the area may not either. So that is my only recommendation as an out of towner but don't let this hold you back from a nice throw back to yesteryear and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of a small soda ice cream shop!

This is an old fashioned ice cream shop. The staff is friendly and the ice cream is excellent. The place takes me back to childhood memories of going to Lovels for ice cream (favorite was the Lucky Monday which is a ice cream soda on bottom and a sundae on top).Be warned - cash only.

I got the fresh squeezed lemonade. I make it all the time at home, so I know generally what to expect with lemon, sugar/simple syrup, and water. This was probably my least favorite lemonade. It was too sweet with not enough lemon. So basically tasted like sweet water.On a positive note, my husband got a milkshake, which he said was the best he ever had. (I left a separate review for that).

Ice cream is a store brand, nothing special. Shop is very hot, so eating inside was unpleasant.They only take CASH. They do NOT have a sign on the door, nor posted anywhere before you pay. What?They told me to go get cash from the cash machine .3 miles away... and away from Main street. Since my kids were already eating the ice cream I had to go get cash....what??? AND...the CASH POINTS ATM was out of service. Really? Now what?? Very uncomfortable situation and very displeased.

We love soda pop's ice cream. It's on the top of our list every time We visit Bryson City.. The kids would tell you it's our main reason for visiting. We love everything about this place. The signs the ice cream the staff even the prices are reasonable.. Next time you're in Bryson City Or anywhere close give them a try.. They might just become a tradition for you as well...

I went in to see 2 teenage employees goofing off and wiping icecream on each other then handling my icecream without gloves. Didn't even ask how many scoops. I had to pay 10 dallors for 2 icecream cones with the icecream not even filling the cone. I will not be buying here again.

What a great place! We stopped in for a double scoop Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and ate it on some nice red rocking chairs out front while listening to some 50's music on the speakers. It doesn't get any better than that!

Favorite ice cream place around. They do not have a big menu with a lot of flavors but has that feel of a good ice cream shop that really focuses on the quality. Good service. Not too expensive and great location. I definitely recommend after dinner as a nice treat. Can't go wrong.

No sign on doors or counters stating you need cash. Only at the register. Ordered ice cream and then found out. Had to go out of our way to find cash to pay for the ice cream. If I had not started eating it I wouldn’t have ordered it. The two young’s kids behind the counter more worried about touching and flirting instead of assisting customers. I don’t recommend for the above reasons and the fact they had very few flavors unless they made it a specialty, which is more expensive.

My family and I visited last week during our vacation, neat little nostalgic shop with great ice cream, the best malt I have ever had.The only drawback is.....Your store is 14 hours from me!Will definitely be back the next time we are in Bryson City.

A small note on the register that says "Cash Please" does NOT constitute notification that you only accept cash. Don't let me order and give my kids ice cream before telling me I need cash and sending me a block and a half to an ATM.Seriously. Put a sign on the door... And the menu. Or tell me before I order. Anything!The ice cream was good. The server was nice. But this was the low point of our day in Bryson City instead of the high we'd hoped for.

Remarkably rude staff. No greeting, no smile. Just a hard stare. Girl behind counter refused to speak loud enough to hear. And they don’t bother to tell you it’s cash only until after you’ve ordered. Ice cream was good but not worth the terrible customer service.Response to owner: Rude is rude; it has nothing to do with being soft spoken. It is clear from your response that the issues with poor customer service come from the top.

CASH ONLY! Yep in 2022 still cash only which is fine I guess...except its posted no where. Not on the window, not on the door, not on the ice cream case. Doesn't even say that on the cash register.. which says Cash Please. Cash Please doesn't mean Cash ONLY! Y'all for real. Post it EVERYWHERE so at least people know before their young kids are holding and eating their ice creams.

I guess I had higher expectations for a place like this. The vanilla had chunks of ice in it and the toppings looks like they were mined from the hills themselves. The older man that served us was quite uninviting and seemed annoyed to every customer there. He made the experience unpleasant alone. The ice cream was underwhelming at best. There is definitely better ice cream in the area. This isn't it, bud.

The selection is good but the freezer temperatures were super low. It was super frozen ice cream that numbed your tastebuds in a minute and the flavor just disappeared. Besides that it’s a nice place.Though they don’t take credit cards. It’s 2021 people!
