This place is really a great find. It is just what you'd expect to find in the heart of the mountains. A sportsman's Paradise. Whether you want to shoot the rapids or just sit by the water and drink a beer. I did the latter.

This is a great place for quality outdoor gear. They have a place to weigh packs and lots of Appalachian Trail supplies. We bought two jackets. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. We watched kayakers on the water obstacle course. We stayed there about 15 years back. The area looks well maintained and show no signs of age.

Woooo Hoooo!! What a way to celebrate our birthdays! My wife and I ran the Nantahala River in a ducky from the NOC and had the blast. I've paddled before and it was her 1st time ever and we can't wait to go again. The Nantahala Outdoor Center crew are the best. #nantahalaoutdoorcenter #plantaceed

We had a great time rafting with the NOC yesterday. Our guide Caleb was awesome! My boys kept asking for more splashes and he made sure to have us paddle to the big rapids to get the “splashes”. He was safety conscious during the whole raft and made it a great time.

Hiking in and out of NOC was insane. But to hit this spot right offTrail was awesome. Spent two days here in the hostel which was modest a clean. The kitchen and shower area were pretty tidy too. The campus is beautiful with lots to do. The River Grill was good but just like resupply here, overpriced. I enjoyed the outfitters. Pretty decent.

This area is totally stunning. I ate at the restaurant and I highly recommend it. The staff was wonderful, service was top notch, and the food was excellent. Wonderful experience, Just wish it was closer.

We had hiked in from the AT. Did some shopping, had lunch there and enjoyed the sunshine down at the river. Lovely day.

We took the train ride from Bryson City to Nantahala and it was amazing. They have a nice bar but the drinks were super expensive for a tiki bar, around $33, 2 drinks for me and my wife.Besides that, the place is amazing and would go back.

Very cool place featuring a general store, outfitter, adventure center (water sports, zip lining), riverside bars and hangout areas, riverside restaurant, and lodging - The Appalachian Trail snakes through the middle of it. This place is gorgeous!

We had the best time ever!! I was very nervous taking our 7 year old on the white water tour but Lee our guide was amazing!! He’s been doing the tours for 44 years. He had so many interesting facts to share and even sang some songs on the tour and sang to my daughter for her Birthday! I highly recommend booking their tour! Thank you Lee for such a memorable experience for my family!! We will definitely be back again!!

Horrible place for hikers. Everything is overpriced. All the hikers rooms are a mile up on top of the mountain. Which means you have to walk down a mile to eat, do laundry( over half the machines don't work), go to the general store. Hopefully you want have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. You'll have to leave your room and walk down several flights of stairs to use the facilities. Also if you get thristy, same thing walk several flights of stairs to get a drink. After walking in the mountains all day. Walking all that much for such simple things is ridiculous. Very hiker unfriendly. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Just keep walking right through this s@#thole.

This is my second time here. I was here about 30 to 40 years ago as well. It is quite a professional organization. They're white water rafting is both fun and safe. The guides are well trained and know what they are doing.The whole campus has really expanded since the last time I was here to be a place you can really hang out and enjoy an entire day or days. Today they had a live band here as well.The water in the river is quite cold but the day was warm and surprisingly being a Florida boy, I got used to it very quickly. Cold splashes of water but not cold at all.Our guide was great. His name was Scott. If you get Scott, he's wearing a propeller hat. He is both knowledgeable and fun. We had a great time with him and he told us quite a bit about the river and the area.This is the kind of place I could probably come back to every year for a couple days to hang out and relax enjoy the river.

This place is amazing for hikers. Lots of hiking supplies. They also give you a parking pass for as long as you need to section hike the AT. Used them twice for this and it worked out great both times. Thanks for all you do for the hiking community!

Our family had so much fun today!! Our river raft guide was amazing! It is spring break so the water was cold! They gave us some gear to wear to help with the cold - it was a life saver!!We also did the zip line adventure park. It was not as nice as other experiences we have had. This is definitely a beginner experience. They did let them to the long zip line run multiple times which made the experience for us! If you have even a little experience and trying to decide, definitely skip the park and do the mountain top zip line.

A gathering place for kayaker, rafters and, as in our case, the turnaround point for the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad from Bryson City.Pricey but good Bloody Maryswe enjoyed while sitting on the river's edge, overlooking the kayak course.

As a kayak enthusiast, I was very excited while planning our trip through North Carolina and seeing NOC outfitters on our route. These folks know water sports and have something for everyone! On top of it all it is absolutely gorgeous!

Our group of 6 had an absolute blast!!! They will offer you a water jacket and pants but that shouldn't be your main concern. It will be your feet in the cold river for 2 hours. The water doesn't get much warmer than 55. Wool or some type of waterproof boots are suggested and youll need to get them ahead of your trip. Get the photo pass its worth it and make sure you have fun with your guide so the trip will be better. Thunderdog was our guide, and he was phenomenal. We got to spin off rocks and spin down some rapids. There are a few restaurants around to grab lunch after plus a full bar with local craft beer. I would absolutely recommend the visit.

I enjoyed my family's quick stop at the outdoor center. They have all kinds of things to entertain all ages from kids rope courses to restaurant/bar to shallow access to the river for the kids to play. There is a general store with clean restrooms and an outdoor for gear/souvenirs. I will definitely come back if I am in the area.

Over priced, rude staff, small bunks. Food and resupply was way over priced and minimal. They have a lock down on the market. I would recommend hitching or going to dollar store up the road. Apparently the made "large donations" to make sure the trail goes directly through the land and can take advantage or hiker. Laundry was 8 dollar a towel was 5, the showers were no clean and the room didn't have pillows or sheets. Seriously one of the worst places I have stayed. Go and stay anywhere else.

While traveling on the Great Smoky Mtn. Railway the train made a rest stop here. We disembarked the train and the NOC center is within walking distance. A wonderful sunny day and mild temperatures this September 11th.There are gift shops, a convenience store and restaurants close by so there is plenty to do. Or you can just sit on a bench and watch the river flow by.The offer classes in river rafting and kayak paddling.There is also a protected shallow area where you can wade into the river if you can stand the very cold water.Highly recommend it as a stopping place if you are into the river experience.

Very cool place to stop and relax and watch the river and the kayaking. Thought this place was really cool and plan to bring my out town visitors there. Little shops to buy things and plenty of food options too.

Neat area and a lot bigger than I expected, checked out the general store and the outfitters and came back by later for dinner at the rivers end restaurant. Everyone was helpful and answered any questions I had. All the hikers are spot on about this place so you should definitely look around and see and try everything this awesome place has.

First time here and I totally loved it!! We came on a work trip 24 of us and we had a blast! The staff is awesome! From the check in moment, the class, the bus ride till the guides! The whole experience was amazing! Totally recommended!

I had such an amazing birthday river rafting. Big Joe was the best tour guide. He made sure to ask if anyone gets cold fast in which I do. So he got me a body suit & still two more jackets. Our trip was super fun and educational. We even ran into the Olympic coarse. Everyone had a blast. We met a couple celebrating their 1 year anniversary on our raft. How ironic that they got married on St. Thomas Virgin Islands where I am from. One of my best birthdays ever. I will surely cherish it.

Had an incredible guided, white water rafting tour that was out of this world!! Our guide, Shane was extremely capable and experienced. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Highly recommend it.

We took a 9am guided raft tour with Joe and had a blast! Joe is super knowledgeable about the experience, the nature, and history of the area. Highly recommend requesting him if you can! There had a been a lot of rain which meant we didn’t have to deal with scraping over a bunch of rocks, and the river was moving quick. This was a great rafting river for beginners that is still really fun for everyone.
