This small but mighty location is a special delight. Something for everyone, but only seating for a few, so be prepared to wait or get it to-go. They do close early- 3pm. Glad we got there just in time. The serving size is perfect. Absolutely loved the chili cheese fries. We added bacon. And the Reuben- yummy!!!! Will certainly come back to try their other items and desserts.Kid-friendliness: Great selections for kids. Even applesauce and juice boxes are options. Great choices, even for picky eaters.

This restaurant runs so smoothly, I can tell the team there places a strong emphasis on customer service. My kids, husband, and I visited the other day and everything we bought was super tasty! I had the Cuban sandwich, my husband had the Italian sandwich, my kids had the hot dog kids meal and the chicken finger kids meals.The fries we got were great too!We even came back on the same day and tried the strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich. It comes pre-cut into 4 pieces and was big enough for our whole family to eat.The team members worked together to make sure we had our food and knew about specials for the day and they served with a wonderful kind and energetic attitude! We will definitely be back!

Quaint little diner in the heart of downtown Bryson City. We went for lunch, and really enjoyed this place! Food was great, and service was excellent! They have great sandwiches, and offer handmade ice cream sandwiches! Food is ordered from the counter, and you can sit inside, or at one of the few three-top tables on the sidewalk. We were there during a busy lunch rush, but the owner himself found us a small table beside the front window. We also chatted with the owner and saw him working hard throughout the restaurant. Will definitely be back when we visit Bryson City again!

Got there just as they were opening for business. I ordered the Diesel half sandwich with Butternut squash soup.Just one the best twists on a BLT I've ever had. Soup was awesome. Came back later and ordered a Blueberry soft serve w/ Lemon white chocolate cookie frozen sandwich. No wonder this place is legendary. Great place and service. Go there when you are in Bryson City, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in after looking for a place to have lunch after walking downtown. Came from out of town and was unsure on where to do.. Figured we'd give it a try and so glad we did. I had the Cuban, my husband had the roast beef.. absolutely delicious.. best Cuban sandwich I have had in a long time.. We shared a overflowing hot crispy fresh fries. We were full from the large meal, but saw that they made homemade ice cream sandwiches.. we went back just before closing and grabbed one.. huge.. the best !! Thanks again for the wonderful service and food!

Overall, not a great experience. The ice cream sandwiches are delicious, yes, but everything else was underwhelming and not worth it. Every order came out wrong but we paid upfront and the staff seemed incredibly annoyed at us so we were afraid to ask for changes. Additionally, they charge more money for a vegetarian sandwich than a meat sandwich which seems ridiculous. The staff was incredibly annoyed to split up our order and also aggravated that we showed up in 15 min after they told us it would be 15 minutes of a wait. They charge 25 cents per each water cup.

I completely enjoyed everything I received from this restaurant. We did not sit down to eat but rather took it to go. But our food came out great! It was fresh, hot, and tasty! I had to order my sandwich (I got a Cuban) without cheese but the owner was very friendly and took my allergy very seriously so that I did not feel the least bit concerned that anything would be cross contaminated. Everything was delicious, as I said, and the owner and all of the staff were very nice and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant! :)

We really enjoyed our lunch here after our hike in GSMNP. The fried pickles were a hit with our whole family. We all enjoyed the sandwiches as well!Kid-friendliness: My kids enjoyed the atmosphere here. They really liked finding license plates from every state. They were excited to go in the bathroom to find more! 🤣

If your downtown Bryson City you have to stop here for lunch. Me and Dee got two sandwiches on there marble rye and it was awesome. The bread was so fresh. She got the BLT and I got the Chicken salad so good.

Repeat customers, it was so good we had to come back for more!!! DELICIOUS!!!! Fantastic customer and their knowledge of gluten free requirements is spot on! Friendly, friendly, friendly!!! We had a delightful lunch a couple of days ago in Bryson City at the Filling Station. The establishment uses creative automotive theming in both decor and menu selections. Of course the real test for a restaurant is the food quality, and on this score we were not disappointed. They seem to do a booming take-out business, and the fact that there was a 30-minute wait for an indoor table was a testament to the popularity of the place. We were in no hurry and didn't mind the wait. If you like sandwich/hot dog options, this is the place to go! I had the High Octane (Reuben); my wife had the Low Octane (Turkey Reuben). Both were delicious. There are over 10 types of bread from which to choose (3 types of rye!). We also had an order of sweet potato fries - well worth it! All in all a wonderful experience. The only negative was the desert. We ordered a mocha milkshake. It tasted like a Wendy's frosty... Not bad, but no hint of coffee. Next time we'll try one of the frozen sandwiches. That seems to be more of an establishment specialty.

This place is delicious! Perfect place for a quick sandwich to go in town. We were in Bryson to hike for about a week and we came here twice. We had the Philly cheese steak, cuban, italian sub, and their main salad with chicken salad added on top. The salad was huge and delicious. My favorite sandwich was the Philly and my boyfriend loved the cuban. Then of course we had to try their ice cream sandwiches. Yum! We had the PB one and the strawberry shortcake. The strawberry was so good! We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

There is a reason why it’s called the filling station. The portions are generous, consider sharing because you should also try a gourmet ice cream sandwich too!! Oh, and very cool gas station decor.

This place is fantastic. The food was fresh and delicious, and the employees were very helpful and friendly. The kitchen, restrooms, and dining room all looked very clean and well kept. They have so many delicious options!

Such friendly staff. Excellent sandwiches. Delicious and creative ice cream sandwiches. I love coming here whenever I am in town. It is my favorite spot in Bryson.I had the Low Octane and it was perfectly pressed, great bread, lots of turkey, and great dressing!
