This place was heaven for my Floridian family. Gorgeous during fall, with lots to do; hayride to a REAL pumpkin patch, corn maze, swings and a petting zoo. Nate the farmer was so fun! He was welcoming and entertaining, our son was especially excited about driving the tractor! Lots of sitting areas to just sit back and enjoy the views. It’s a can’t miss if you are in the area. We will be back for sure.

Perfect place to go with your family! They have a hay ride that takes you to their pumpkin patch. They also have a corn maze, swings, unusual pumpkins and a petting zoo. Matt at the petting zoo is very friendly and he tells you all about the animals. There is plenty of area to run around. They have a good size store with ciders, jams, jellies and whips. The pumpkin whip was the best! Many opportunities for pictures.

Greatly enjoyed our time at the farm. Corn Maze was a good time and took around 45 minutes to complete. Hay ride up the hill to the pumpkin patch was fun, and my five year old daughter had an awesome time. The ice cream whip things, what ever they were called, are the best! Keep an eye out for the old cars in the river bank across the street when you leave.

Fun place! We went during Christmas, and loved it! Little farm shop had lots of good ciders, jams and other things! Bring the whole family, enjoy a warm atmosphere and tons of fun!

Absolutely loved visiting. Beautiful property right by the mountains and the river. We met the owner he was very warm and welcoming. Initially we weren’t sure if the corn maze was open and he let us know we could get tickets at the shop. We did the corn maze and walked around. We didn’t do the hay ride or the petting zoo. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

My son and I happened to find this Farm and Farm Market accidentally while driving the back roads. Holy moly!! I went grocery shopping and brought it all home to Hope Mills 5hrs away 2 days later!!! No offense, but it was sort of funny how hippie met hillbilly and everyone just was happy as a lark!! It had been eons since I saw and heard cloging dancers and banjo blue grass music!! I absolutely LOVED it!!!!!! What a great and fun family oriented atmosphere with the hay rides, and little kiddie tractor train ride!! And the Pineapple Whip... Damn that was YUMMY!!!!

Their fall activities were awesome for a family day! The hayride was much better than most, and we got to each pick a pumpkin (included in the cost of the hayride). The corn maze was the best I've seen since I was a kid! We had a blast! Their farmer's market was great, and we picked up some nice produce too. It was our first time coming out, so I'm excited to visit again for other events throughout the year!

What can I say...family and pet friendly where the kids can run and play. Enjoy Rocking chairs while listening to local entertainment. Visit local vendors, buy fresh produce. Enjoy the seasonal activities...this place is a must visit for locals and visitors. Family owned and operated...very friendly!!!

I love this place! Their location is beautiful, offering an amazing selection of local fruits and vegetables. They also host wonderful events and provide excellent entertainment for adults and children.

Absolutely love this farm! It’s our family’s go-to spot for a fun and enjoyable day out. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Not to mention, they have the best strawberries in WNC, and the Dreamwhips are simply to die for! Highly recommend!

This is a perfect place for a day trip with your family or a quick trip to pick up produce for your weekly shopping trip. Picnic tables and grills to use for by the river. There's a petting zoo for children. There are swings and a jungle gym for the kids. There's a stage for performances and rocking chairs for the audience. And don't forget to try the dream whip delicious.

Very fun place to visit! Kids, at least ours (4 & 6 yr olds) loved it. They have all sorts of things to play on. They also have a nice selection of local produce and other things like jams and jelly’s. Don’t forget the ice cream treats and my wife and I especially liked the mocktails made fresh . Oh and the views are fantastic :)

Darnell Farms is amazing! From fresh produce to playing by the riverside. Can not get much better than that. Now there is a petting zoo to enjoy as well for a small fee. Called Tuckasegee Stables and Petting Zoo Worth it to see the smiles on your childrens faces. I loved it too!! Recommend it for sure. Strawberry picking and pumpkin picking are a family favorite of ours there. Or just a good ole drive to the farm to spend a day by the river and getting snack and produce from the farm stand. If you are in the area, check it all out. You wont be disappointed. Great views of mountains all around from the farm as well!

We visited while on a trip. The ice cream treats were very good! We also purchased some peaches and cheese. The cheese was also good- it's labeled as the Amish kind. We would buy from there again.They also have some play equipment for kids, and pick your own stuff, including sunflowers.

Purchased a gallon of Strawberries plus significant amount of vegetables on Tuesday 4/22/2024. The Strawberries have no sweetness and are fibrous in the center. Grocery store Strawberries have more flavor than those purchased from Darnell’s. Upon calling Darnell produce I was informed they do not guarantee the product. After much discussion they did agree to replace the Strawberries with a different batch. However, traveling from east of Waynesville to Bryson City would make it economically redundant.Lesson learned if you buy anything from Darnell’s sample it before you buy. For me personally, I will not do business with this farm in the future.RESPONSE:The young lady I spoke with stated unless the berries are rotten there is not guarantee. I totally understand you cannot guarantee every berry but after sampling none of the berries were sweet at all. I will gladly remove my review if you are simply willing to issue a refund of the purchase price.

I cannot recommend this place enough. We went on the hayride and pumpkin patch. It was absolutely breathtaking! The farm feels very family oriented. The market is fresh and priced well. The staff was SO friendly! If you like boiled peanuts, the Cajun ones are delicious! I look forward to going back!

Wonderful local small business with fresh produce, jams, jelly and frequent community events and festivals. Several picnic tables, pavilions and kids playgrounds with magnificent swings along the river bank. Lots of free parking and children activities. They also have an outdoor stage for live music. Very friendly staff and helpful. Worth stopping by to enjoy the farm and buy locally grown produce and fruit.

We stopped into Darnell Farm today to get a “Whip”. I chose the Butter Beer Whip and it was delicious! While there we browsed the rest of their shop. They offer a wide variety of produce from bell peppers to pumpkins. This time of year they also have a corn maze and a hay ride that you may enjoy. If you are in the area, it’s worth the stop!

This place is awesome! We stopped after a hot day to try their ice cream. As someone who used to work at a creamery in Wisconsin, I have high expectations for ice cream. Their dream whips were by far the best fruit ice cream I’ve ever had! It’s so delicious, and tastes fresh. I’m not a huge fruit ice cream person usually but these are an exception. Great seating by the river and a variety of local produce.

Aside from visiting throughout the year for seasonal whips and other treats, this was our 3rd annual trip to the pumpkin patch at Darnell Farms. It was incredible as always! It is evident that the family that runs this farm truly cares about their community, and I am so thankful for everything they do! We will be back again next weekend to enjoy the farm some more, and possibly check out the haunted barn!

A great time for the whole family! Everyone who works at Darnell Farms is so friendly, caring, and kind. Bluegrass music, hayrides, great pumpkins, swings by the river, and a corn maze—what’s not to like! Our kids loved picking out their pumpkins and the staff was very accommodating to my son’s special needs. Darnell Farms is a great way to celebrate the start of Fall.

We love going to Darnell Farms! A wide selection of fruits and vegetables!We took the grands here when they visited and they had so much fun picking strawberries!THE BEST strawberries we have EVER had! Cutest little farm shop right outside of downtown Bryson City! The river location is nice and makes me think picnicing would be nice during the summer. This time of year they have Christmas trees and some holiday festivities. I am looking forward to going back in other season to partake in the fun!

Live music every other Saturday. The BEST soft-serve nondairy also made with their fresh fruit . . .SOOOO GOOOD!!When you visit, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and there is music playing out of the speakers. You can send a rocking chair and relax.
