We were checking out Main Street in Brevard and happened upon D.D. Bullwinkel's Outdoors shop. What really surprised me was how big the place is inside! They have tastefully maximized the square footage with a spacious 2nd floor with an additional shopping area opposite "The Map Room"; a tap room complete with a generous amount of retro booth seating that runs the length of the interior front of the building. The 2nd floor allows you to walk the perimeter of the shop with the center section open to the first floor - so no worries getting separated from the group! And well-behaved canines are welcome, too! After perusing their exceptional stock of gear, I was impressed by not only their selection but their prices and ended up snagging a great deal on 2 shirts. D.D. Bullwinkel's Outdoors is a must visit when in Brevard!

Pretty cool outdoor store. They’ve got a lot of different brands they carry. I love to wear Darn Tough socks, but if you’re more of a smart wool person, they’ve got those too! Stop in when you pass through Brevard!

Normal pricing than for a specialty retailer (meaning more than Walmart). But they do make up for it with a good selection of good quality brands, some I was familiar with like Northface or Patagonia but some others as well, which were all well made (we looked at rain jackets). No one apporached us to see if we had any question about the equipment which I love to see in a specialty retailer, which cost them one star. But all and all a good business, worth patroning.

Went inside to window shop, ended up having a couple of beers in the taproom. Nick was bartending and he is the best. Great knowledge of beer, hiking, fishing camping, you name it. Let me talk his ear off for way too long, gave me great recommendations for both beer and camping supplies. This guy knows his stuff and is also a great hang. 5/5 will definitely come back.

Quality products and terrific customer service. I worked with three different employees who took time to explain features of each product and were not pushy. I ended up buying a great pair of shoes and will consider the jacket and backpack before making a final decision. I love shopping local!

Absolutely love this place. My wife and I’d favorite store. We come to Brevard twice a year and this is always our first stop. Where else can you grab a beer, pet a dog, and shop? Place is awesome, service is awesome, and somehow someone always recognizes us like locals even though we are only their twice a year. I literally wait to buy things till we go here.

Really great Outdoor store right near the Pisgah National Forest. They have a great selection of equipment and clothing and though we didn't need the staff for anything in particular, they seemed to be friendly and attentive to everyone in the store.There are some brews upstairs for those who want to imbibe while planning their next adventure. This place really has a small town feel. Every local seems to know one another and every business seems to support eachother.Highly recommend to those travelling in this area. It is also a locally owned shop which we love!

A bit pricey and an amazing collection of outdoor gear and shoes. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the store is filled with a beautiful selection. I learned something today that I'd forgotten...they honor returns with exchanges or store credit, though we cannot have a return charge credited. Visit, enjoy and choose wisely!

Value of this store is the high quality goods and excellent shoe selection but most valuable is your (Cool watch) employee Chris who patiently helped me with shoe selection than gift attire for the man in my life. His knowledge and willingness to help was genuine as the staff reportedly are not commission sales. Furthermore there is a 2nd floor pub with 6 taps for those non shoppers!

We stopped in for something simple (and not the usual type of item for this store) - a postcard - but it was a very pleasant experience! The store was quite inviting and nicely arranged, and the postcards they had, while a bit expensive (we were told that there were less expensive postcard offerings at their other store nearby - excellent customer service) were beautiful, so we happily got one. Great store - RECOMMENDED!

I want to thank Sam and the staff for their assistance in guiding me to a hiking sneaker, hoka speed goat 4. Wore it around the house for a couple days to get used to the minimally different footing and now enjoying it outdoors. Sam was informative, helpful, and patient. He answered my questions and our interaction was pleasant and positive. This is the first footwear I've bought in store in many years. This kind of service needs to be rewarded by purchasing locally.

Always stop in when I’m downtown. I don’t know what this store has done, but they have figured out how to have an outdoor store and taken it to the next level. It’s unique. There are local finds that make this store very cozy. It’s been a whirlwind watching businesses try and dance through this pandemic. I appreciate how the store has handled mask-wearing.

Every time we visit Brevard, D.D. Bullwinkel’s is a must stop store. On our visit in September 2021, I picked up some hiking items but also was looking for a pair of Altra Lone Peak 5’s for hiking. One of the employees, Nick, was beyond patient and helpful as I tried to decide on a pair that were size 11.5, which is typically too small for me. His assistance and ideas for testing them were very helpful and I ended up making the purchase because of that.This is a super cool store that is always fun to visit, and my wife and I enjoy simply strolling through it even if we should not make a purchase, which is rare. Be sure to walk the circuit of the mezzanine as it offers fun views of the store.

My wife asked Trinity where the restroom was and her reply was the restrooms are for customers. Not polite at all. I can say this time we didn’t purchase a single thing.

Love the new site on Main Street. The layout is room with excellent product selection. Service is helpful and courteous. A bit pricey, but there are deals to be found. Worth the visit... I found great hiking shoes at a reasonable cost.

We came from out of town and thought we would stop by after our hiking trip in Pisgah Forest (as it is in Brevard's downtown). Upon arriving, the man who greeted us seemed friendly and let us know about their sales they had going on. It was a beautiful store and had lots of inventory. Only downside is that many things were overpriced even with their "sales". The worst part of the experience was the man who greeted us continued to follow us around the store running up and down the stairs as we looked around. We felt uncomfortable and quickly caught on that he was hoarding us because he labeled us as thieves or thought we could have been stealing. Awesome store, but bad experience.

I've been a customer for many years. Shopping local / shopping small is where you find high quality products and deep product knowledge. D.D. Bullwinkel's and Moose Tracks certainly delivers on that promise. They carry a variety of high quality, stylish, and functional casual clothing, shoes, and outdoor gear. We love coming to Brevard and just saw this store has opened since we were here last. I am an outdoor enthusiast, love hiking (thru hiked the AT in 2017), and simply love outdoor clothing and equipment. This is THE best store I have been in for these items in a long time. Fun vibe, good folks working there, and great gear for competitive prices. Stop in...you won't be sorry you did.

Everytime I shop at DDB's it is a great experience. From friendly, knowledgeable staff to a variety of quality products, this store has it all. On one trip to Brevard I forgot my luggage. After a few hours in DDB's I had everything I needed! I would recommend a visit to this store to everyone.
