See all photos— I think I got some good ones!This was extremely cool. Nice setup, very organized. Could find everything. So much to look at, its amazing. Very reasonable prices. High quality pieces. All different sizes.I’ve recently getting into spirituality such as crystals, singing bowls, meditation, chakras, etc so I really appreciate stores like this. It was refreshing.My boyfriend and I spent about 30 minutes in here but if we weren’t absolutely starving and rushing to dinner it could’ve easily turned into 2 hours. He bought some things too.What I ended up buying is in the last pic. So content with my choices. 🤩***Only “complaint” I have isn’t about the store in specific, but just something I wanted to mention about how early everything closes in Brevard. Need to be weary of that if you’re staying around the area coming from out of town, you might not be able to get anything to eat that’s not fast food after 6pm. Don’t really understand it.

We had a blast here on a rainy morning. June was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, patient, and so kind to my son who asked her a question about every gem. We got a medium bucket and left with two sandwich bags filled with different colorful gems for our collection.

Crystal Mountain gem mine was such a wonderful experience! Liz and Cory were so kind and knowledgeable. Their passion was evident and it really brought the energy to our experience!!Our daughters were thrilled with the gem mining experience and the price was super affordable!! We got the 5 gallon bucket and we ended up with so many breathtaking gems that were all a great size! We splurged and got 3 of our gemstones crafted into necklaces. I can not wait to see what beautiful pieces they'll end up with!The store was so cute. It had the best collection of crystals and fossils I have seen in ages. It alone was worth the visit.Thank you again Liz, Cory and Crystal Mountain Gem mine for the great memories on our vacation!!

Fun little store to look around. The gem mining is a good activity for kids. It might be a little better if they gave something to help identify all the rocks they're "mining" though.

CO y and June were so helpful. They helped us soothe for gems we got the green giant $66. A 5 gallon bucket it was $70.40 with tax. We found lots of treasures. We got two geodes and they broke them open at the shop for us. We also purchased cute jewlery at the store. They have cards on the significance of the gem.

We had so much fun here!! I bought the green bucket (I don’t remember the name), and we found a whole geode and so many different varieties of crystals and stones, even a really old megaladon tooth that is almost a solid black. I mistook it as obsidian. Super kid friendly, and the girls who were working, were so nice and welcoming. They’re energetic and bubbly, even complimenting and chatting with us about Beetlejuice (because we’re nerds)

Kids loved sifting for rocks. It was obvious pretty quick that the stock was pretty much seeded or at least just mixed into sand. Still, the kids had a blast looking and found all kinds of quartz, etc. Nothing of value, just pretty rocks. The staff was friendly and helpful. When i asked where they got their first they replied, "from all over". Most of the rocks within the sand don't occur naturally in the same location so the mixing is obvious. I still recommend this place because the kids have fun and it's indoors out of the sun.

Please like/comment if you find this review useful!Visited the Gem Mine 4th of July weekend and we had a blast. In our group was 3, 7, 9, 14, and adults! We all enjoyed the experience.Prices are reasonable and the customer service was phenomenal! There was a ton of things to look at and unique souvenirs to purchase of all varies prices.I think they are needing to expand their store to allot miners a little more room without being so close to the merchandise, especially for young miner and parent interaction.You can share your bucket!

We loved it! The staff was friendly, and made sure we had a good time. The store was beautiful, plenty of beautiful rocks to choose from.Mining was fun, the bucket we purchased lasted a pretty good while and we all could share it. We found a lot of beautiful gems!

I called up the place looking for a gold panning pan, and they said they had a few sizes in stock, and avaliable. They did have what I wanted, however the condition looked a bit used. I didn't haggle the price down as it looked like more of a mom & pop shop. Friendly people, and had what I wanted (mostly). They lacked any real equipment for panning tho other than 2 sizes of pans. No bottles, or sniffers (think of a mini turkey baster). I have seen the same pan I now have (bought there) previously on Amazon for like $10, however it was $15 there. Understandable for a tourist bassed small town. Neat space they have right in downtown, with some really neat offerings. Thanks to them I don't have a lame Thursday evening of gold panning on my friends property. Cool place, check it out.

We had a great time today at the Crystal Mountain Gem Mine. We were invited to a birthday party didn’t know what to expect but definitely exceeded our expectations. The gentleman that was there was very courteous and informative. If your looking to have some fun with the family check this place out. If you have kids under 3 go with the small bucket, 3-6 medium one, and 6&up any size.

I went with my son (4 yrs) and it was a great experience. We both had a great time and Liz and June were very helpful the entire time. This was our first time and they walked us through how to do it and checked on us several times. We got the green bucket and took our time. Took as about an hour to go through the whole bucket. I would definitely recommend!

And that bat, hmm I'm sure a species closely tied to zoonotic diseases was not captive bred in another country and sent to you... You lied again, they were wild collected, then killed. I wish I did bring this to your attention while in the store because I could have told you you were lying through your crooked teeth. Just because it isn't illegal doesn't mean it is ethical, humane or poaching. Why don't you prove they are humanely collected?? Liars and profiting off animal death!! Stick to rocks! We travel quite a bit, and stop into every gem mine or crystal shop. I have to say of all we have visited, this is our #1! Funny enough, the owners other location, Elijah Mountain in Hendersonville is our #2 Gem Mine- what are the odds- #3 is their 3rd location in Asheville. What a great family. We met Chris yesterday and we were not only impressed by his friendliness and knowledge, but at the shops GREAT prices, availability and they did not push us to "mine" which you will often find. We meandered through and found some neat crystals/gems/stones we did not have in our collection. If you are hunting for affordable bubble bee jasper- here is your spot! Thank you for an awesome shopping experience!

Everyone should do this!!!! We we're in town celebrating my partners birthday and decided to check out Crystal Mt. Gem Mine after stopping at Sun Dragon Art and Fiber Store (awesome yarn shop!) We had an absolute blast doing the big green bucket!! It was worth every penny! We found all the rocks and fossils we were promised including 4 amazing rubies, 4 sapphires and 2 emralds!! I would bring everyone i know if i lived here. It wasn't super busy the day we went, december 19, and we got as much attention as we wanted from the guy working. He was nice, fun and very informative! I wish i lived here so we could go again and again! The rest of the shop was wonderful as well, comfortable, clean and very reasonably priced. Thanks for being so awesome Crystal Mt. Gem Mine!! Keep up the good work!! Pictures of our mining success!

Really cool place! There are different options for bucket sizes. As well as different buckets to meet your needs. The staff was awesome and I was very impressed and how he handled the chaos of children everywhere. He made us feel as if we were the only customers in the store. We definitely plan to return next year during our yearly trip to South Carolina. I recommend purchasing a geode at least if you choose not to do a bucket.

Our family stopped by twice during our trip in Brevard and I can't say enough good things! The girls working at the register were so very kind and informative. My kids loved the gem mining! It was the highlight of their vacation. We brought home two really nice geodes that one of the girls cracked for us. It's so fun waiting to see what the inside will look like! Plus lots of other gems. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Pleasant set-up with knowledgeable staff. My friend got a bucket to look for gems and I thought I would just watch. I gave in and got a bucket too. It was fun, easy to do and a fun way to take home some simple souvenirs.

We went here on a weekday afternoon in early March 2018. We were the only customers at the time. We got the $20 bucket for our 4 year old and it took him about 20-30 minutes to scoop and sift through all the sand. He found about 20 large gems among the sand and LOVED IT. The worker offered to tell him about all the gems, which he did. Our son took the gems home in some ziplock bags (provided by the store) and showed them to all his friends and classmates. It was fun and a learning experience. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place it’s not close to us we live in candler but I found online and had to try it my whole family had become fascinated with stones this year so we gave it a try they are very helpful and welcoming there’s a store to see so many things fossils animals etc stones jewelry dreamcathchers and more and you can mine also we tried the green bucket and I definitely recommend it we found a beautiful geode and many many crystals 3 rubies and fossils we will definitely be back and highly recommend

Another fantastic shop in downtown Brevard. There was a great variety of rocks, gems, jewelry. The skulls in the back were my favorite. They have geodes you can break and a panning station to search for gems and possibly gold. I didn’t get all the details. Don’t miss this stop. Enjoy!

This place was phenomenal! Both Liz and June were incredibly helpful, not only in identifying the different types of stones that we found, but also pointing out the rarest and most sought after pieces. Our visit netted us emeralds; onyx; amethyst; smoked quartz; copper; soapstone; several small sapphires; a shark's tooth; and three rubies (one of which was larger than a golf ball!) We even found a white crystal geode in our bucket and Liz assisted us with cracking it open, right there in the shop! If you find yourself in the area and are interested in geology, local culture, or just want a unique experience, you owe it to yourself to check this place out! Between the amazing staff and the haul we took home, it was worth every penny!
