The dog bath area is great! It’s a closed off space so it stays warm. I have two large dogs, so I appreciate having the space all to ourselves so I can wash one dog while the other is safely in the room and can’t escape.

Very lucky to live in this town with The Pet Place close by. Best pet store and staff I’ve ever encountered. Only quality and healthy foods, treats, and Pugslys’ favorite...”chewy’s.” Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Tina is amazing and could easily be mistaken for a veterinarian. There’s nothing she doesn’t know and I always consult with her about things before paying outrageous vet prices. She usually has the solution. And nail trimming for under $35 like the vets (which always took 30 minutes, 2-3 vet employees, and a jar of peanut butter to cut his nails, always a stressful process). Tina is the only person Pugsly has EVER willingly allowed to trim his nails and I have no idea how or why he allows her and nobody else...he certainly won’t let me do it...she has to be some sort of magical pet whisperer or something. Thank you Mrs Tina and everyone at The Pet Place.

My boyfriend and I have two pups who LOVE getting to visit this amazing shop! The owner (I’m not 100% sure but the woman who’s always there) is phenomenal at her job!! When our youngest pup had a bad accident with his paw pads, she recommended the best cream and gave us advice on how to handle the issue. His paws were feeling better two days later! I can’t recommend this place enough!!

One of our dog’s harnesses broke while we were visiting for a ski/hiking trip. Visited this store for a replacement because I would rather give my money to a local business. The selection was surprisingly good for a small store. Also picked up some unique toys while I was there and cute dog cookies. I have two 50 LB. Brittany’s.

I love this store. I have been shopping here for at least 5 years. The owners and staff are always so pleasant and helpful. They only sell the highest quality products, and do their research to ensure everything on their shelves will help our pets and not hurt them. I also volunteer with a local cat rescue and we get all our kibble (NutraSource cat and kitten formula) from them. It keeps all of our cats super healthy with gorgeous shiny coats. They have held several adoption events for us, keep a donation jar out for us, and recently have initiated a new adoption package for our adopters. We love Sandy, Jeff, Tina and their crew. They truly care about the people AND animals of our community. SHOP/SUPPORT LOCAL!

Love shopping here! Their staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I always feel welcomed, and love when the staff remembers my name!I never have to worry about the safety and quality of the food for my dogs or Guinea pigs, and love the frequent buyers programs. Stopped by to see how the store was and if they had any fish supplies. While the supplies for fish were limited, they did have a nice selection of healthy looking Betta fish, so I purchased a kit for my kids. They are the proud new keepers of their blue friend, "Leroy!" Clean, nice place - worth stopping by.

Excellent service. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Fabulous selection of the best dog and cat foods I've ever seen. Fun animal treats & supplies. They will even carry your purchase to your car for you. My lab Max loves coming to shop also. Always gets a treat.Very professionally owner operated. Just a great fun pet store!We always look forward to visiting.

Really like most of the supply they have in the store. Tried to get a pet bed for my new Morkie that was only 4 lbs then and 5 lbs now. She won't get to be around 8-9 lbs full grown. So the selection was not for a small dog. The harness I got for her was perfect! One of the employees even helped me make sure it was the correct fit, which was wonderful, I was blind about harness fit, have only used collars in the past. It's a little pricey, but when you are the only and best pet shop in town, you can be. I will be back.

Not good. Lost both my fur babies (dogs) within 6 months. Adopted a puppy in Oct. And then adopted a sister for our puppy 5 months later. Pet Place would not honor the certificate for free food, toy, and treats that was given at time of adoption. I was told that I was only allowed 1 per year. Really. Very disappointed. I rescued 2 dogs and this the way they treat potential customers. Sorry I will not ever go back to this store plus all their products are way to expensive. I guess their overhead is more important.

I love shopping here! The owners really appreciate all animals and treat both you and your pet like a member of the family. They hold great fundraisers for the community including the Watauga County K-9 fundraiser to benefit the K9 units that protect us and for spay/neuter clinics to help keep shelter numbers down. Great products, great people, great place.

The Pet Place is my favorite pet supply store - they carry a remarkable variety of dog food (sorry, cat people, I have no idea how their selection of cat food is!), treats, and assorted pet paraphernalia, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. The shop is very active in supporting the community, as well, regularly running events to support K-9 officers, rescue organizations, and other local causes.We try to take our pups with us whenever we stop by, for the socialization and for exposure to the smells and two- and four-legged customers, and the staff has been so patient with our new rescue pup's reactivity while she learns to be quiet and calm in new situations - they remember us when we come in and even remark on how much she has progressed! Tina, who handles nail trims, has been wonderful with our other pup who has fear issues with having her nails clipped - she is very calm and patient every time and makes sure the experience is a positive one.This is a great shop that embraces the community and its pets and I can't say enough good things - stop in next time you're in the area, meet the staff, and grab a fish skin or some chicken jerky (sold by the stick at the counter) for your pup!

They have the kindest staff here. Everyone is extremely nice and knowledgeable. My favorite place to go for my dog! The owner heard about my dog being attacked the other day and gave him a free toy to play with for when he recovers! A great place full of great people. I'd be inclined to shop there if they stop selling beta fishes or any live animals. The fish are living an impoverished existence alone in barren bowls destined to be home decor for someone.

I recently moved here and have been very pleased with how The Pet Place is being safe in regards to COVID. Their curbside option is quick and easy, the one time I had to go in they had a person standing near the door to ensure everyone is wearing a mask and sanitizing their hands. Gotta keep our 90 year old grandmother safe!

Though dogless at the moment, I have lots of canine friends, and buy all their treats here. Pet Place has THE superlative selection of organic, sustainable, and single-sourced treats for dogs. From little tiny training treats to large chews or jerky; some are fresh-baked, some chewy or crunchy, some with fruit, or oils, and/or herbs. My current favorites contain either rabbit or strawberries with yogurt. Yum!Their staff is strong, friendly, and knowledgeable, and offer community sources to help both the animals and their humans.🐕💛💚👫

The older couple is delightful, but the people who work there otherwise are absolute jerks. The younger girl not as much as the older one.I went in to get hermit crabs for the first time and the woman that was 'helping me' was extremely judgmental towards me. She gave me the condescending tone when I asked around how much it would be to make a good home for the crabs. I paid for what they recommended, only to find that it was not the best for the crabs. I was missing half of what I should have had for those poor darlings. So I ended up going to the other pet store (Pet Supplies Plus), and found a MUCH better selection, and much better people who actually knew what they were talking about. They even helped me get discounts!Basically, this store isn't worth your time or money. Pet Supplies Plus hires people who know what they're doing, and are much friendlier. I'll never go back to The Pet Place again. And I suggest you do the same.

The Pet Place has had my business many times over the years, but I applaud them for everything they've done since the start of the pandemic. They have followed guidelines and stood by their decisions. The also offer alternate shopping options to those who cannot wear a mask. This is my go-to place for everything for our furbabies. Staff is knowledgeable, especially for special-needs pets, and either has or can order whatever you need. And they are doing a fabulous job of keeping everyone safe during the pandemic, on top of their usual wonderful service!

Highly recommend this place for any of your pets needs! I went in desperate to find a food that my picky dog would eat and Sandy was very knowledgeable about their different foods. She pointed me in the right direction and found me a food that my dog now eats without thinking twice! Drake and I are also a huge fan of the Laundro-Mutt! It’s a very cheap alternative compared to taking him to the groomers every few weeks!
