Lovely people, attentive and gentle doctor. I took three cats in for checkups and followed up with dental surgery for one. My cat is doing so well and has no discomfort, and the office called to check on him as well. I have to drive an hour to get to this vet but it is well worth the drive for their kind attention and caring attitude.

Dr. Sturgill and Elizabeth (Liz) took great care of my little dog today. They have amazing caring demeanors and stayed past closing time to ensure we had a good plan for our dog. When your pet is like your child, you want these two to be on duty.

Had great things to say about this office until a week after my cat was seen her paw started to look infected. They had told me to look out for these signs and contact them so we could put her on some antibiotics. I called yesterday to let them know and was told I’d be put on a call back for the vet. Okay. Before they closed yesterday I called again and asked when I should expect this call and was told maybe before they close and if not then, then tomorrow (today). I waited all day today until about an hour before they closed and tried calling them and met their voicemail. Luckily my cats paw isn’t giving me as much concern, but I find it very unprofessional to brush something like this off and not contact me back when they said they would. Disappointed to say the least.Edited to add: They called back this morning (two days after my initial call) and claimed they were waiting for a photo from me sent to their email. I was never informed to send a photo to their email. Clearly a lack of communication going on.

Prompt on getting my furbaby in to be seen, friendly, caring, attentive staff. Very gentle and caring towards TomTom, decent prices for a Vet. Me and my baby are very pleased.My only complaint is that they don't carry flea pills for cats.

So this place is really nice, I love how friendly staff are and willing to work with low income families, I took my 2 babies in Roxy & Sneako which are my red tail colombian boa constrictor’s, I took them in because they had gotten really weird and sick such as tail breakage and rot in general on both so they amputated the females tail in which she is doing extremely well after surgery and slithering around being normal/energetic again yay!, the male had mouth rot mildly so the antibiotics will be helping him and he’s also very happy and feeling better, this place is a little pricey but willing to work on payment plans with you which is good I highly recommend going here they are super nice and helpful thanks to them my babies are now safe from life threatening symptoms!

The Pet Care Clinic of the High Country is the best for complete pet care. They “get” your animals and work with their idiosyncrasies and love them with you. The team at the PCCHC literally saved the life of our Great Dane when she developed Pancreatitis. And Even though our girl doesn’t love going to the vet, the staff there makes her feel welcome, and they look out for her. We cannot say enough good things about the Clinic and the Staff. They are Top Notch!

It seemed like they were always trying to funnel people into “emergency clinic” with its exorbitant costs by often being unavailable to see clients. I took my “once-in-a-lifetime” champion GSD to be put to sleep & end his suffering at age 14. He took his last breaths on a cold exam room floor with not even a blanket! He deserved better. The vet was matter-of-fact with no words of comfort. Then when I picked up his postmortem clay paw print, it was only half a paw print & looked like a kindergartener had done it! It’s been over a year later & I still feel the same anger. I’ll never go back.

They have taken wonderfully great care of our two schnauzers. One had an attack of pancreatitis and one had to have bladder stones surgically removed on an emergency basis. The staff are knowledgeable and kind, both to animals and people and the doctors know just what to do. Their prices are realistic, i don't feel they overcharged and they do have easily obtainable finance plans. A good group all around!

the vet techs are very sweet and super knowledgeable. they let me stay with my baby, Jeeves, while they did everything they had to do. my only complaint is that (just like most other vets) I don't know how much anything will cost until the very end, and I wish vets were more proactive in providing that information because it's uncomfortable to ask. it kind of feels like "I'll only pay so much to take care of my animals," when really I just want transparency so I can brace myself for impact! haha. great over-all though.

I love PCCOTHC. I take both my cat Misty and my dog Dakota there. I have also recommended them to many friends and family members who now also use PCCOTHC for their pets.It can be a little pricier than some of the vets in Jefferson or Sparta, but I definitely think it's a you get what you pay for situation.The service at PCCOTHC has been impeccable since I started going there. It's also nice there is a not only the vet office but a 24 hour animal clinic, doggy daycare and a boarding facility all in one stop.

Our dog had been in some distress during the night, lethargic, not drinking, diarrhea, hard to stand. This morning we called the vet office to see if we could get an appointment. We were told that they would see if they could and would call us back. FOUR HOURS LATER, we called back and were told that they were slammed and that we would have to go to the emergency room with him. If they had just told us thr first time we called we could have come in earlier, not have such a long wait and had our dog seen earlier. Thanks for the non service.

I like this place so much! Super friendly and they really listen to your goals and needs about long term care/etc with aging pets. I didn’t feel any pressure either for expensive tests and treatments. I saw Dr. Sturgill and Peggy, both so nice and knowledgeable! Happy pet mom! Julie Matre

We continue to be happy with services and customer care at PCC. We have 3 dogs, and 2 cats. One of our dogs is very anxious at the vet and both the vets and the techs go above and beyond to ensure he gets the care he needs and has a positive experience. We do routine care as well had our puppy fixed and would recommend them. We also board at Ridge Runner and have always had positive experiences. Very quick to respond to emails!

Everyone is friendly and kind and takes good care of our pets.Super clean environment with friendly staff. This is the first vet I have taken my cats to where they do the checkups in back of house and not in the room with the owner. Not bad just not used to it. They seem to cater more towards dog owners but I find most vets do. Prices can be high in some areas but generally competitive for the area.

Obviously Max felt completely at home and quite chill for his first visit with Dr. Sturgill and Peggy today! I was referred by a neighbor and am relieved to find such wonderful people and an impressive facility, including an emergency hospital if needed. Max adopted us recently, so he had a thorough checkup and his initial shots, we've set his neuter appointment, everything was thoroughly explained and my questions answered without feeling rushed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Absolutely a wonderful experience. I got a vey detailed email reminder about our upcoming new patient visit, as well as what to expect and what to bring.When we got there the ladies at the front were incredibly nice, and the vet tech was so sweet to my dogs (who are normally very anxious at the vet). She asked detailed questions to help the veterinarian get familiar with the dogs before seeing them, or which really sped up the process.She took the dogs back one at a time and I could hear them being so sweet and encouraging to them during the exam. After doing some vaccines she brought them back and took the other dog back for a similar exam. The doctor, Dr. Sturgill, came in to explain everything that she saw and recommended, then asked me if I was concerned about anything. I really appreciated that bc it made me feel heard. She was so good with them even when one was being protective.This experience was amazing from before the appointment to check out. I felt so comfortable asking questions and never felt rushed at all. We will definitely be coming back and using them as our new vet in Boone!

Took our dog here after a pretty unsatisfactory visit with another local vet. Dr. Byrnes was very thorough, giving our dog the careful attention we found lacking elsewhere. She spent almost an hour with us, answering all of our questions and making sure we were totally comfortable and confident with the treatment before leaving. The staff was attentive and helpful. The facilities were clean, modern, and welcoming. Prices were maybe a touch higher than I’ve seen elsewhere, but more than worth the quality of care and thoroughness. Very happy to call them our regular vet from now on.

I am not too happy with this place, We experienced a crazy wait outside in the car for 3 hours. No other vet was open for service in the area. We had a sick pet and when they finally came outside to get it. They called us 2 hours later and wanted $2,500 for the treatment and it wasn't a guarantee of back to health. That was simply outrageous and a let down to feel like I had to buy my pets life back. I am no vet but the consultation over the phone was not with a Doctor it was some hired kid to get as much money as he could out of you dilemma. It was so vague and unprofessional but the amount of the cost was clear. Also just by looking at the two offices next to each other I can see a large amount of money invested in the operation. But to price gouge to pay for it at my pets life doesn't have the customer in mind at all. After looking the title of my procedure would range from $300 - $750 extreme cases up to $1500 but $2500 is just robbery. This place is out to kill your wallet and pet. I had no other choice but to have to put my pet down.

Wait was very reasonable for emergency clinic on Saturday in Boone. 1 hour.They understandably took a dog in front of us who had been seriously injured. I would have expected that. Dr. Linzey and staff were caring prompt and understandable. Cost was not much more than I would have paid home vet for same tests and treatment. Total time about 2 hours.

We have been using this clinic since it opened and we're using the emergency vet before. It's gone downhill. Our cats never saw the same vet. Our 12.6 pound cat started loosing weight dramatically and when he reached 9.1 pounds we were told maybe it was his new weight. A change in diet recommended by a specialist after a litany of tests has him back at his 12.5 healthy weight. Now we we're told our other cat needs a lot of dental work and has a heart murmur all the sudden. Then there's this new dental package sign in the receptionist area. We are not going back.

Absolutely HORRIBLE vet... STAY AWAY!!! Took my female in to be spayed after a couple of check ups and tests after having her puppies... Proposed Bill was $330... They kept calling and making up lies, like she was in heat (she wasn’t), and wanted to keep her for 2 weeks afterwards... After I got fed up with them and went to pick her up, they brought me an almost $900 Bill, much of which was things they did not do... Also, the job they did to her was HORRIBLE! (See picture of her incision 8 weeks after)... This place is HORRIBLE!! Also has been noted to the AKC for people to avoid this place... The saddest part is that I had been with this office 10 years or so before this happened... I am STILL waiting on your “superior” to call me and explain this to me as promised MONTHS ago Dr. Sturgill!

I just started coming here but couldnt be happier, for sure will be a long time customer! I had been going to a different vet previously and everything was good, however when my dog suddently showed severe separation anxiety, my previous vet could not see her for a week. Which couldn't really be helped but they forgot to send me the paperwork and wouldnt let me see the vet even for a second to get some ideas on how to help my pup as she was hurting herself because of her separation anxiety. I desperately turned to the Pet Care Clinic for any help and they got me in as soon as they could. The doctor sat on the floor with my pup and gave us some amazing advice and options on how to help my pups anxiety all the while listening to what I had to say. Which I was not used to, someone actually listening and caring about my dog. A week or two later and my pup is doing so much better! I couldnt thank these guys enough!
