Excellent and quaint locally-owned country store with a wide selection of products from groceries to apparel to necessities. This country sore offers a large selection of local goods such as Ashe County Cheese products, coffee from Conrad's Coffee, and Sassy Cat Bakery desserts among other local products. Goober Peas Country Store also has its own products and merchandise. Combine this with their convenient location as well as their friendly and welcoming service, you get an overall worthwhile experience. COVID-19 Safe with masks required in the store. I would definitely recommend going to Goober Peas Country Store!

This place truly deserves a five star rating. Located on Meatcamp between Boone and Todd, Goober Peas is the store that you can breathe fresh air. Masks are worn by the staff but for customers who are not able, it is optional and you won’t get kicked out for not covering your face. Some of the amenities include.1. Deliveries are available through a local company2. Reasonable prices3. Variety of items4. Many products are local or at least from North Carolina5. Staff are kind and compassionate6. They offer unusual options such as cheese curds and Candied jalapeños.7. They offer fresh eggs and produce in season8. Store hours are convenient for working people9. Honest to a fault10. Did I mention kind and compassionate?Don’t pass up your chance to visit this jewel.

I wanted to take some time out of my night to give this place a real review. I lived on Howard's Creek Road for a year and loved every visit. I'd stop there for a quick lunch or Dr. Enuf soda weekly and the older lady in there has ALWAYS been nice to me, even my first few visits. On my last visit, I even saw her helping a customer who was using food stamps and she was very helpful. Everyone else in there has been nothing but nice as well. I moved away about a year ago and haven't been back since, but I think about this place regularly and I will 100% be back (for some Dr. Enuf and a breakfast sandwich). Much love Goober Peas.

The lady that works at the register is so kind, welcoming, and informative. The prices are very reasonable for the high quality local products. The milk is delicious and the eggs are great!

Overpriced novelty store . Great place if you want dollar store novelties at super inflated prices no tobacco products , BS a waisted of my time . And the clerk followed me around watching me like a hawk . Ok for a hillbillies souvenirs. An insult to the area if you ask me thou!

This place is fantastic. Perfect country store charm to it, and the gent behind the counter could not have been more helpful. I got myself a mini cast iron pan candle, and it is seriously the greatest thing I have ever smelled in my short 22 years on this planet.

Nice little country store owned by the same owner for 46 years. Not many updates over the years, kept the recipe simple: good selection and friendly smiles . Don't forget your Goober Peas hat though.

This place has a little bit of everything! I got a glass bottle, real sugar Fanta, which you can't find just anywhere! Really friendly staff and the name is a 10/10!! Even though Goober Peas is just another name for a peanut...i stilled laughed uncontrollably and bought a store hat!

This is one of the few non-chain general stores still around. From soap to bottled soda, you can find quite a bit in this small shop. Owner was very friendly. Worth a visit. It’s like a trip back in time.

Fantastic little country store. Only thing missing was the old gas pumps. This store carries all kinds of stuff. Soft drinks, Yoo Hoos, chips, candy, plumbing parts, music, and home decor. Say hi to Andy when you visit.

The attendants are friendly and give regulars a feeling of belonging to the community. The store has books about the local area for tourists. They have foods and products for campers or outdoor explorers. They sell local produce, such as Ashe county cheese and chicken pot pies. No alcohol is sold because the store is located outside of the city limits and Watauga county is dry.

Spoiled milk. Expired goods. Sodas with no fizz. I'm scared to eat the other stuff we got there like the frozen chicken pie, I wonder if it's been properly stored. Risky Risky.
