When I drive between Oak Island and Charlotte, I always call ahead and order, typically, a breakfast sandwich - Sausage and egg, bologna and egg, etc. Absolutely delicious! Cheeseburgers are excellent as well. And the prices are great! What's not to love? My only regret is all those years I drove past Freeman's Grill and never stopped!

Stopped by on the way to Holden Beach. My husband got the catfish sandwich with a fried egg based on their recommendation & said it was delicious. I got the chili cheese fries. Very generous portion of crinkle fries that managed to be perfectly crisp on the outside even after being absolutely smothered in chili and cheese. There was an interesting sweetness to them as well, which I found enjoyable. My 4 year old got a cup of cookies and cream ice cream while we were waiting on our food, which was actually perfect, as he would have been climbing the walls otherwise after being in the car about 5 hours 😄 My older son got a grilled cheese that was gone in maybe 4 bites, per typical teen fashion. Drinks were bottled. Great food and warm hospitality. No frills, but we didn't need any. Definitely recommend of you're in the area and want something quick and tasty 😋

Hidden Gem!!!SO WORTH THE STOP... NC Route 211.Fresh, Fresh. Fresh!!! Prepared while you wait. Homemade cheeseburger like my Mom used to make...fresh iceberg lettuce...so delicious! Fully cooked.Next time...I'm trying the grits!

The man running the grill knows his stuff! Cheeseburgers made with diced onions cooked inside but the catfish sandwich is the star here! Listen to the man!!! Try it with cheese,mayo and a fried egg!!! It’s amazing!!!

We took a chance on this place while traveling to the beach and it paid off! Wonderful small business, cold AC, clean bathrooms, very kind staff (one gentleman took a few mins to come by and learn the kid's names and ages) we were asked several times if we were OK or needs anything, the food was delicious (2-cheeseburgers, hamburger, hotdog, gizzard, catfish, okra, sweet potato fries w/tax ~$26). Would come back again. They also had a lot of 🇺🇸 flags out front which spoke to the patriot in me.

Hours online wrong drove 8 miles to go eat on Friday 4/5/24 got there at 5:30 and they were closed it said on yelp open till 830pm and all other online says 8:00pm so don’t waste your time driving there if you are out of town like we were because they might not be open

They have some of the best food around. It's probably one of the only food places for miles and miles on hwy 211!! I'd say the most popular sandwich is the catfish sandwich, they have some great breakfast, and everything is seasoned so well!! If you like kool-aid ask for the Peach drink (it's the best)!! Sometimes they'll have dinner plate specials, crab salad, and slices of some of the best cake around, if you see those items available you best grab one right then 😋 😉 Bolton is a small town and Mrs. Ruth has the best food around here so yall stop by if you're able!!

5 STARS!! We were on the way back from the beach and needed a place to stop. Little skeptical due to the appearance but once we walked in and had a warm welcome we knew it was going to work. We ordered and sat down, immediately the owner started talking to us and getting to know it. She was very kind and we had a great conversation as we waited for the food. Once we got the food the wait staff was great and made sure to make sure we were okay. The food was delicious!! We got a hot dog, cheeseburger, philly cheese steak, chicken tender, plus a few sides. All very good, would recommend, and would like to go back! Thank you to all the wait staff and everyone who made it feel like home!

First off, well worth the visit. Friendly staff good food, reasonable prices.Dry meat that's well seasoned. No extra sauce needed. Burgers made from scratch cooked properly. Sweet tea that taste like that one summer from your childhood.We are from NEA and visited the OBX and AB Islands. Two whole weeks of mediocre dining and the best meal was on our way home at Freeman's Grill.It's nothing for looks, a small dinner hometown vibe, but the hospitality and flavorful meals is all anyone needs.Sad it's not more local to our home, but will definitely be making a note to come back the next time we come through the area.Parking: Open gravel lot. Easily accommodate bus, rv, or trailers.Kid-friendliness: No intertainment, but plenty of kid friendly food options.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat single story building. No steps or ramps to enter. Table seating easily accessible for wheelchairs.

Man don’t pass this place up! I’m so glad we stopped in for the catfish sandwich, so flavorful. Got it with lettuce,tomato,onion and hot sauce and highly recommended trying it. Would’ve taken a photo but it didn’t last long enough, it was so good I came here and leave a review if that says anything. Oh and affordable which is always another plus!

Great stop for a quick bite. Food is really good. I had sweet potatoes fries with my burger and everything tasted fresh. My kids had mozzarella sticks and chicken nuggets which did not look bad at all and had good taste. The place itself has seen better days but this didn't bother us. Bathrooms were clean. Great service from the staff. I would definitely stop back again.
