Almost didn’t visit because of the ratings but holy smokes so glad we went in! They have an amazing selection of toys and awesome books, dress up clothes (princess and astronaut) and stuffed animals! The staff was so nice, I have no clue what these bad reviews are about. Great little local shop, don’t miss it!

This was a unique little toy store that had so many games, toys and such to choose from. There were a few items that I found on Amazon for a couple of dollars cheaper but not enough to keep me from purchasing from this store. It was better than shopping at Amazon because you could actually see what you were getting. The sales person was awesome! I found an educational game for my grandson but wasn't going to buy it because I wasn't able to see if it was going to be the right type of game for his age group due to the fact that this particular game still had the wrapper on it. when I asked the sales person if she knew what it was like she said "Well let's just open it and see" and when I decided it was what I wanted I was going to take the one she unwrapped she said. "Take the unwrapped one. We'll just use this as a sample". I've never had anyone so helpful in a toy store. I will definitely go back and would suggest this store to anyone.

When we go into Blowing Rock we always stop in to see this store. Today we just had to buy 2 books. They have such a variety of items that we don’t usually see in other stores. Staff is helpful but they also let you walk around with hounding you with suggestions like some places do - I appreciate that. Definitely worth a stop.

I had extremely high hopes upon entering this location during a recent vacation with some friends. Those hopes were dashed fairly quickly when an older employee eavesdropped on a private conversation my friend was having about drop-shipping, which Serves You Right does not offer. The employee then loudly berates my friend in front of customers, following her throughout the store with the intent of inflicting as much embarrassment and shame as possible. My friend even voiced how this store WAS her favorite store in Blowing Rock, which I can honestly say that I, along with many others do NOT agree. If this location were to close, I could honestly say it Serves You Right.

Horribly rude & degrading staff and they don't make their return or exchange policy clear. I highly discourage ANYONE from shopping here or giving their money to such rude customer service practices and business management.I purchased a pair of shoes here that I have the exact same brand of, same style that I purchased at a different store, so I didn't try them on (they were the same size and everything). When I got home and discovered they were too tight, I figured I would just take them back to the store and exchange for some that fit better. Unfortunately when I got there, ALL of them were too tight, no matter what size I chose. I had just purchased them the day before and had my receipt, but they said they only did exchanges for store credit, not returns or refunds. I never saw that policy anywhere and was told it was printed right on my receipt - you know, the thing you get AFTER you pay and purchase an item... Later I discovered it in small print off to the left at the counter, but even then the wording was confusing. One line said "no returns, only exchanges or store credit" and then a line below that said "returns only available for items not on sale" - I wish I had gone back in to get a photo. The store "manager" called the owner and didn't give all the information, talked rudely of us while we were right there and told us returns weren't possible and offered me an exchange for "some napkins or plates"... When I suggested they make their return policy more clear and place it in front of where customers pay, the "manager" said she had never heard of stores making their return policy bigger or clearer... And that most stores do not accept returns...Luckily, another store nearby that sells the same brand was gracious enough to accept a brand new item (the shoes I bought at Serves You Right) and exchange it for a different pair of shoes the same brand at no cost and without hesitation.My family and I have been shopping in and around the Blowing Rock district for decades and we will no longer return to Serves You Right due to how they treat customers. If you want a better place for your business, head to The Shoppes at Farmer's Hardware on King Street in Boone and you'll be greeted by far kinder staff with much more professional business policies.

Manager is a hateful old woman who kicked me and my friend out for looking at toys too long…in a toy store. She claimed we are too young to be looking at toys. We are 16 and 17. She was following us around the store since the moment we walked in and accused us of shoplifting. Will never spend a dime at this store but will definitely be back to be as petty as possible.

The lady running the store has a thing against children walking around the store looking at kids toys. This is the second time we've been there and she has been very rude regarding children. You run a kids toy store. Guess what? You're going to have kids in the store.

So much fun shopping here! I said walking in I was not going to purchase any more puzzles unless they were Harry Potter. To my surprise that had a whole section of them! Super kind employees and very fun for both kids and adults.

We visited this store with our kids. Most of the staff was nice. However one lady was very rude. Following us around and scolding us for touching any of theirs toys. She was not interested in selling us anything, more in making sure nothing broke.

The management is ridiculously unprofessional and rude. I would suggest finding people who enjoy working around kids to work in a children’s store. My kids were treated incredibly disrespectfully and we were talked about by the associates when they thought we had already left the store. I will never be back to this store and would not be at all disappointed if this store closed and an actual kid-friendly toy store took its place.

The store as a whole is ramshackle and unorganized, with confusing and unpredictable hours. Items are priced much higher than deserved for how cheaply they are made, clearly an attempt to take advantage of Blowing Rock tourists by only appearing rustic and authentic. Don't bother asking staff for help, they are rude and inhospitable.
