The only negative is that they're a bit pricier than most, as is expected of the only hardware store in town. (eg $5 scraper for $7.50)Positives far outweigh prices though. They have on-staff experts that go above and beyond for every customer. If they don't have it, they will order it for you. They will explain the "how to" for whatever you buy. Not sure what you need? They'll tell you. Hours are great, parking for large trucks and trailers, disabled access. Always friendly, even when customers are rude. Family owned and operated, small town atmosphere.One of the few to receive 5 stars from me, because during the past 2 years I've used them, their services have been excellent, bordering on perfect.Products include: lumber and construction materials, electrical, plumbing & masonry supplies, hay, feed & pet supplies, gardening & farm supplies, etc.

I absolutely love this little local store! We have gotten everything from seed to fertilizer here. Great place to run if you need a few pieces of lumber and don't want to head all the way to a larger town. I like that they also have anything I need for our animals. In the spring I always check their vegetable plants out front!

Helpful staff; a quaint small-town feel. They sell all kinds of seeds, fertilizers, and hanging baskets. Good variety of tools. I got my UHaul rental from here too!

Tarheel Hardware in Belleville is more diverse by supplying wood in their lumber yard, opposed to Richlands. Also their plumbing and electrical supplies offered are a lot better due to the depth of their inventory. Their prices are marginally higher but a better value thus not having to travel to Jacksonville or Kinston which is equal to another tankful of gasoline. Both my wife and I take advantage of the fact of using their readily available garden supplies.

I needed the hardware to hang the doors on a storage shed. They had the 8 inch galvanized hinges I wanted. The price was a little higher than I expected but they are made of quality. I am satisfied with the service and the counter lady is cute.

We were told a trailer would be available for us for our cross country move. Once we drove there from Camp Lejeune they told us it was no longer available and given out to someone else. It was very disappointing. We spent so many hours searching for the next available.We lost 4/5 hours of our road trip due to this.( NOTE to staff members) be considerate of peoples time, effort.

They have most everything that I need. Pricing is good and even if they were higher, I’d rather support a local business. Plus their customer service is top notch. Huge animal feed selection and plenty of other farm-type supplies.

Good local place...has a little of everything. plumbing, gardening, pine straw, flowers, stones, pet supplies, underground fences, even flooring. can be a bit pricey, but sometimes worth the convenience of being local.

If your hardware and lumber yard experience has been limited to the big box stores, check out Tarheel before going to those stores. Their prices are competitive, their service is more personal than the 'big box' offers, and their selection is impressive when considering the size differences of the real estate between them. They have become my first stop for everything I would go to the Ace, Lowe's, or Home Depot to purchase!
