I do not have any complaints about the employees or the lack of Variety. Actually, they are in the middle of a remodel, and it looks to be very nice. Unfortunately, I have had the experience of going back several times to get refunds from items I purchased on sale with MVP but the price on my receipt did not reflect. Customer service has always given me the refund after carefully inspecting my receipt.A few weeks ago as soon as I walked in the door, there was a table with blueberries on one side and blackberries on the other. There were signs on both sides that said hot sale MVP three for five dollars. Down at the bottom in very small print. It said blueberries or blackberries. I purchased three of the blueberries, which are very small containers. When I got home I saw that I had been charged five dollars apiece. Which came to $15 for three small containers of blueberries. Called customer service as soon as I Found this error because I had become accustomed to checking my receipt after every visit.Customer service said they would be glad to give me a refund so when I was able to get to the store and present my receipt, the person at the counter Told me that the small print at the bottom Said blackberries, but not blueberries And she could not give a refund. I asked her why would you put A sign for the price of the blackberries on the side where the blueberries were? You have two signs on a table that reflect the price of only one item? But your displaying 2 different berries, side-by-side with two signs saying three for five dollars? She did not have an answer but only that other customers had the same issue. I think practices, like this, are very deceiving, especially to seniors who cannot see very well. Yes, I’m not happy with Food Lion in Benson. I’ve had issues before, but I think this was dishonest And misleading. I realize Nobody’s perfect, but this was pretty obvious.

Consistently has spoiled food. I’ve purchased melted ice cream, moldy fruits and veggies, and expired shelf items. I’d let it slide if it was once in a while but it’s almost every other time I shop here!

I love coming to this grocery store, very kind people. My first bad experience was today with a white woman named JOANNE, I told her I was having problems with something I needed a return and she couldn’t do it gave me an ugly attitude, and was being so petty and ugly. I was able to get help from someone else, thankfully. For this reason, I WILL NOT BE BACK. JOANNE, you’re a waste of employee, you were racist and awful to talk to.

It’s actually not a bad Food Lion. The inside is usually clean and actually has a good selection at the times I’ve been. Granted I haven’t been at night so I can only speak to what goes on in the daylight. Sometimes there’s a gaggle of guys hanging out by the entrance but they don’t seem unsavory and don’t harass the patrons. I took a star off just because the sales associate varies and you never really know what you’re going to get. For the most part though, it’s convenient and I’m not scared to shop there. So far, they’ve had what I need in stock.

I’ve always liked this food lion better due to the fact they have better choices in stock. Every time I come here I always remember why I don’t like to come here. Why are the employees so rude?? We were checked out by Joy today and it was so unpleasant, even the gentleman behind her asked her “do you not what to be here” she said NO he than replied “yeah I can tell”. I think the lady standing behind her was maybe a manager I didn’t catch her name but she was even WORSE! There is literally no need to be so rude to people. She wasn’t satisfied just checking my ID for the alcoholic beverage I was purchasing she also wanted to check my aunts who was with me who’s 45 years old and looks no where near 21. I understand you have a job to do and that’s 100% okay but the commentary and rudeness can be avoided.

They keep this location nice and clean but the competition kills them these days. Me and my wife got here to get a few last minute things. I always hate that because I know everyone is ready to get off and go home. They close at 11 and we got there at 10:50. Started checking out at 11:10 but I have never felt so pressured and rushed at any other grocery store. Even the manager pretty much told us if we didn’t hurry then we would be out of luck. I hate to admit that I have been in this scenario a few times before at other stores while always being apologetic. All the other stores(Publix, Whole Foods, Lowe’s food) have never made us feel this way. Always nice and understanding which makes us feel even more obligated not to take advantage of it. They were always just great about it. That’s not the case at food lion. They start cutting off lights at 10:55 and giving you the death stare. Not a big deal to some but food lion is just not what it use to be and all the competition is just on another level in comparison. If not in price and sales, then in customer service or both.

I love the prices at Food Lion, and this particular food lion has some amazing employees. The store is always clean which includes the bathroom. The reason I'm giving this store three stars is mainly the quality of the produce, and because they don't carry many items or brands that other food lions carry. I have had to leave my cart and walk out in the past because produce is so bad at this location. Leafy greens will be wilted, peppers soft, onions go bad within a few days, and I once picked up Dill that was oozing brown liquid. There doesn't seem to be this kind of quality issue at any of the other three Food Lions I visit in the area. I would shop here every week without fail if this were not an issue. I contacted corporate about it but I simply got a generic email stating they were sorry I had a bad experience and they would forward it to management. No other communication was sent following that. I so want to love this food lion, customer service at the lower level is AMAZING, but I just can't see where anyone at the higher level management cares about this store.Edited to say: I have even tried asking when they put out fresh produce thinking I just go at a bad time, and no one could tell me the answer to that.

Nice store. It's always clean. It seems a little small, there is not a very wide variety of brands. We are new to the area and are just used to a wider selection. And they really need to offer free Wi-Fi.. Updated to add they do have wifi now

Food Lion on South Cumberland Street Dunn is wonderful I'll buy anything in there they have except for beef I go to Carlie C's for beef service cashier's always wonderful very good manager daily is really good and that produce is better than anybody in town I will shop there all the time

I like the fact that, I can find what I need, because Food Lion carries a wide variety of items.The one thing that I have noticed is, their prices are higher than other stores! Yes..they have some buy one, get one free and that's great:) but a price cut would be even better..

I've been very disappointed lately in the quality of the produce and the selection variety in other areas of the store. Items that are no longer carried or woefully low supply of certain items I frequently purchase like diet Pepsi. They also no longer seem to carry Amy's vegetable lentil soup. So disappointed that I have begun going to Lowes foods.

Store is clean, employees are for the most part very friendly. Whoever is in charge of inventory is clearly not paying attention, as the shelves are more often than not empty. They continue to run out of items throughout the week and are constantly changing their inventory.On another note, I will not be back to this store at all. The check-out woman, Lori, while she was ringing up my items, decided to untuck her shirt and reach down the front of her pants while I was standing right there with my debit card ready to pay. She put her hand past her stomach down her pants, and then without batting an eye, proceeded to hand me my receipt with the same hand she used to adjust whatever it was down the front of her pants.Disgusting and I will NEVER go back to this store after that gross act of misconduct.

This Benson location is populated with friendly employees that, if you are a weekly shopper, will know you by name. The deals are fantastic especially when using the coupon hub on site and online. The only issue that comes up is that the MVP deals are not always subtracted from the products. When this happens the friendly employees will fix it for you. I recommend shopping here. Remember to document your deals and coupons and recalculate your receipt for savings accuracy.

Now I have been to many a grocery store, I have been to Carlie C’s, I have been to Harris Teeter, and Kroger, and Piggly Wiggly. This grocery store is the Honda accord of grocery stores. Solid, clean, always friendly and courteous and not too pricey! Always have fresh meats, and nice veggies! The last time I was here about a willow tree and some AA batteries.

Great location. Normally busy in the evenings after everyone is off work. But the store is very clean and they get you out very quickly. Never had to wait longer than 5 minutes or so to check-out.

Store was putting up stock, and had almost every idle packed with boxes, and employees. Food lion needs to have a 3rd shift to restock shelves at nighwhen they treat closed. Its a too busy stores for such a small town like The Benson,and The Dunn, n.c. store locations. The managers of these 2 stores are in need some order for when they are busy they needs to regroup, and get things in order.

Don't get me wrong a grocery store is a grocery store. But this store Is definitely a little different. The employees will break their neck to help you. And me being almost blind and in a wheelchair there are real big help to me. They're just an excellent store.

Very clean store and that's including the restrooms also. The workers were very helpful to make sure that I found everything alright. And I didn't have to wait long in the line to check out and that's what keeps me going back to do my shopping at.. very well maintained store..

Nice veggie and meat departments. Usually well stocked and clean. One really good thing is always having minimal wait times at checkout because well staffed.
