I used to go out of my way to shop at Ace in Beaufort. Every experience and every person was wonderful. That all changed this week. I was trying to purchase mulch and have it delivered. For one person to deliver 30 miles was going to be $165.00 on an order of slightly over $200. A very kind employee thought that was just unreasonable and called for a manager.The manager came and offered to cut the mileage charge in half with it now totaling just over $100. I said that was just too much and declined the offer. This manager got very aggressive with me and was treating me like I was totally ignorant. I told him I understand things cost money but I felt that charge was too much and with that he turned around in a moment of pure disgust and walked away leaving me standing at the front registered in utter shock. The employees standing there were also speechless and shocked. He was rude and disrespectful when all I said was no thank you.I will never to to Beaufort Ace again. I was humiliated and very upset over this encounter

We purchased a well pump back in November of 2022, for our vacation home. We had an issue with the new pump. We took the old one back to Ace. The representatives were so helpful. They picked up a new pump and took it up front for us. George went with me to my truck, helped me get the other pump out and put the new one in my truck. Every time we go to that store, they ALWAYS are so friendly and helpful. Guy, whom I believe was the manager, was kind and helpful. I will bypass the "box store" to go there for my needs.

Great hardware store. Knowledgeable staff who were able to direct me immediately to the location of what I needed. But one special thing I'd like to add about this hardware store is that it has a great fishing tackle section. Most of what you'll need for any near/inshore fishing. Very impressed and this allows me to pick up what I need for local fishing without driving back to Atlantic Beach or MHC for tackle.

A great example of a proper Ace Hardware Super Store. I love the grilling space with all the accessories and I have recently reloaded on my Big Green Egg supplies and 2 new grills. The guys assemble and load them in your car. They are GREAT!Ace has also ordered parts for me that were not in stock. So, we def spend too much money there!!!The staff is helpful, well trained and the store is pack with quality choices!But……the entire LP tank show from front to back is not ready for prime time though…Hopefully they will get there!

Outstanding place to shop for almost anything to do a job, from gardening, painting, construction, yard work, hardware, plumbing, electrical, hunting, fishing, lighting, ETC. They seem to have everything. The staff are highly professional, helpful and friendly. I always love shopping there.

I left a bad review 5 years ago, but I retract it now. Great hardware store. The one terrible employee is now long gone. People there are helpful and knowledgeable. One bad employer can give a bad impression to a business.

Love Ace hardware!Was just in and I am from out of town. The staff was amazingly kind and helped me find a cord for my generator and its the exact one we needed, because I wasn't sure what I needed, sorry I have forgotten his name.The girls up front were so kind and I appreciate that. I've had a rough few weeks and Kat blessed me and she lifted my spirit. Everyone was so kind. Very happy we decided to buy a home in carteret county.

We visited the Ace Hardware in Beaufort NC this week while on vacation. And I have to say without a doubt their customer service would put Lowes and Home Depot to shame. We only have Lowes & Home Depot where we're from. I have NEVER seen so many employees working at one time and willing to HELP the customer. I'm simply amazed at the customer service and their knowledge. If you have an Ace Hardware near you shop it! I'd rather pay a little more for good customer service then someone who doesn't want to help me because "that's not their dept." Hands down to Beaufort Ace employees!!! Always have staff but it's a 50/50 chance that they will know the inventory. Most of the time it's good but here lately it's getting worse! We hate to have to drive to Lowe's.... also the rewards program should be honored.

We really like this hardware store. They always seem to have the hard to find items and even though the items costs a little more than going to the big bix store, I don't have to go to the big box store and deal with poor service and the long waiting for the poor service.

Ross went above and beyond to help us repair our boat when someone cut and stole our fuel line. He even came out to the parking lot to help figure out exactly the fittings, etc we needed. We have always had great experiences at this ACE but yesterday was exceptional. Many thanks Ross. Always good to see ECHO, too.

Ace hardware has always been a great place to. Buy materials and tools in the Beaufort area. Their staff is helpful, knowledgeable and if they don't know about something, they make every effort to find out the answers to your questions.. We are there often and even more so since Florence took our roofing, 2 rooms ceilings and 2 hallways. Thanks to all the helpful staff and management!

I was in Ace Hardware in Beaufort and was asking for help with a mower belt. I was actually helping an elderly friend who broke a belt and didn't know the size. I went in asked if they carried belts and was told yes but in the back. I was thinking I would be able to look through the belts but learned they are behind the counter. The older man just looked at me and said he was tired of people coming in and not knowing the belt size and muttering other things. I just asked for my belt back and left. I left and went straight to the friendly lady at Tractor Supply who helped me get the exact belt that would help my friend. This happened a couple of days ago with at least 2 other employees present. I have worked with the public my entire life and this man can learned from Tractor Supply.. Sincerely, Disappointed

Beaufort Ace opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays but not until 7:30 on weekends. Saturday morning is when people generally get around to Home and Garden. I hope they consider opening on weekends at 7 a.m., too. The option is to drive all the way to Lowe's hardware which loses sales for this small town business. Its 7 a.m. and I'm waiting for them to open. Update: Just saw two trucks with guys in them pull up at separate times. As they walked toward the door I could hear them saying that they thought the store opened at 7. As I said, I heard both sets of men decide to go to Lowes. And here comes another truck which will probably do the same thing.
