The girl was nice and friendly but the food my wife brought was not what she expected a BBQ sandwich should be... I ordered a slice of cheese cake separately from the original order and that was good!!! Two slices of that was 11.09 , my wife got the pork BBQ sandwich platter that was 10.32... cheese cake worth it, sandwich hmmmmm not so much...

The locals told me that this is the “local spot,” and it was worth the drive. I ordered the BBQ pork and brisket. Instead of lumps of meat, I received something resembling cat food in a can. We paid $40 and my wife refused to eat anything but the green beans.

Old fashioned BBQ joint. Seating area and bathrooms were clean, food was good and service was quick. I only tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. The rest of the menu has your typical fare. Several choices of meats and sides. I couldn't find any one thing that makes truly unique but what they're doing is done well, at least from the good amount of patrons that were there.

It's the local dive for barbecue. It's easy to get into and out of and has plenty of parking. They also have outdoor seating for when they get really busy. I was hoping to find a slab of brisket but they only offers pulled brisket. The flavor was okay, nothing spectacular. Fries are spot on and the hush puppies were excellent. They have many different sauces that you can put on the barbecue.

I've been here (and the one in Elizabeth City) several times. The service was friendly, and the food is usually good, but disappointed in their portions at this location. I received about 12 French fries. Even the brisket sandwich seemed smaller than what I've received in the past. This is a nice location if you need a place to stop on the way to the OBX, as there's plenty of open space to stretch your legs and sit outside on a nice day.

Pig statues EVERYWHERE I did not like that but then again everyone else probably does that was the only issue with the atmosphere everything else was great. The service was wonderful and the workers were nice. The food was great but the drink machine had water that was colored by the lemonade and the cheer wine tasted like carbonated water I don't think the flavoring was added. The starry sweet tea and Dr pepper were great though. btw I can't eat pork for religious and scientific reasons so I don't know what it taste like other people has said it tastes good so I guess would recommend.Dietary restrictions: I couldn't eat pork but I can eat beef though so it worksParking: Idek what to even say there was many spaces to parkKid-friendliness: They didn't care about the kids playing so they are extremely kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: It had a ramp so I guess it was wheelchair friendly.

First time visiting this BBQ restaurant on on trip to OBX. We received a very warm welcome by a very friendly and professional staff. You can seat inside but the seating outside, I think is much better since there's a lot more room and places to seat. The place was very clean and the food was reasonable priced. Everything from pull brisket, sweet potatoes, ribs, and green bean casserole, I can go on and on.If you come here, your gonna lick your fingers and I don't blame you, It's that tasty.

I absolutely love Currituck BBQ Company. I don't get to come here as often as I'd like, as we live almost an hour away, but my husband and I try to come here at least once a year. We made the trip today, and it was phenomenal as always. The pulled and rotisserie chicken is always melt in your mouth, and pairs great with the yellow SC sauce. The brisket is some of my favorite, and goes wonderfully with the tangy brisket sauce, and you can't go wrong with their true pork NC BBQ and red pepper vinegar. I also have to say, the hushpuppies that come with the meals are so good. The staff is always super friendly, the portions are large, and even when the restaurant is slammed, the ticket times are quick. If you are looking for actual NC BBQ, and Southern sides this is the spot to check out. I highly recommend Currituck BBQ Company.Parking: Nice sized gravel parking lot

I have always heard that the best barbecue places are in little towns out in the middle of nowhere. And must have a big pig on the sign or the building. This little down home road side restaurant is no exception. I am still getting used to the vinegar based bbq. But this is one of the best is the the northern corner of North Carolina near Elizabeth city and the outer banks. The portions are plentiful and reasonably priced. The pork and brisket are both great. Along with they have an assortment of sauces to choose from to sample with your meal. Also each one can be purchased to take home. The Currituck BBQ Company seems very popular with locals and travelers.

Pork and brisket for me along with potato salad, coke slaw, and hush puppies. Definitely hit the spot. The Carolina vinegar based bbq sauce was great! The place seems to stay busy. The staff is friendly, the food comes out fast and hot, and really hits the spot. And it’s very conveniently located on 186 on the northbound side of the road. Definitely worth a stop!

Stopped by for dinner with my husband. Good prices and our food came within a minute. The young blonde girl up front was very nice as well. I am happy to say the food was delicious. I had the beef brisket and it was tender and smoky. Loved the sides as well. 5 stars!

We placed a large order over the phone and they told us it would be 30 minutes. We arrived 30 minutes later, they took our money and they started our order that we had called in and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our food.No apologies. Called our name and handed us our food and walked away.We got home, the food is sloppily prepared.. sandwiches were soggy and the sweet potato casserole was dry.The coleslaw was just cabbage leaves and mayo juice. The bbq was good, as usual, however the service, timing, and preparation were subpar.

Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars and it’s not just because of the food. The girl that helped us was the sweetest person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. JC or Jacey (I apologize for not knowing the spelling!) was incredibly kind. I’ve been to this place many times in the past but never felt compelled to write a review because the customer service never impressed me. The food is amazing and her customer service truly tops it off. Need to hire more people like her.

First of all I've been coming here for a couple of years now about 5 or 6 and the barbecue is great, nice little North Carolina barbecue establishment Just one piece of advice do not take anything out of that cooler [ On the right side before you get to the cashiers] That has already been pre package it is close dated in other words is Going Out of date.. Very very soon ...The cashier asked me if I wanted hot or cold I said I was taking it Home up North and she said over there we have 1 pound containers... So my wife and I picked up some brisket, pull pork and pull chicken potato salad all-in-one pound containers The brisket had 1 dayBefore was out of date In other words I spent $83 in this place and I have no more than 2 or 3 days Before it goes out of date It's a shame how you take advantage of visitors in your state comeing back the outer banks.... In other words be very careful of what you buy out of this place...... I hope I don't get sick over this food... Somebody should be checking dates Before they expire.... Well it's been 3 weeks since I posted my review I'm Thinking they're not too fond of bad reviews...... I guess everybody understand that ..Nobody likes bad news or reviews .That's all right There are plenty of other barbecue establishments in North Carolina to go to.....

Sheila and I dined at Currituck BBQ Company for lunch today, and we found it to be about the best North Carolina barbecue we had ever tasted. Not only was her barbecue chicken dinner delicious, my pulled pork barbecue sandwich crowned with really first-class cole slaw on a bun that did not fall apart or become sodden as I ate it would have been worth substantially more by itself than Currituck BBQ Company charged—yet both dinner and sandwich came each with two sides! Both of us chose fried okra as one of our sides; Sheila chose fresh beets as her other side, and I had the potato salad. Portions were quite generous—we asked for boxes to bring much of it home, and bought an extra pound of the pork barbecue to share with our son Chris when we got home to Virginia.I see many reviewers have been here before me and have already raved at how friendly all the employees are, how spotless the restaurant is, how perfectly and attractively prepared EACH ITEM (including the hush puppies that came with Sheila’s plate) IS. As I grew up in Raleigh, I can only tell you that this experience, which happened to fall on May 10, 2022, our 47th Wedding Anniversary, actually carried me back to the fine cooking I was enjoying seventy years ago in North Carolina’s Capital City, and I was very proud that chefs at Currituck BBQ Company were maintaining so well what I consider a precious heritage. Incidentally, Currituck BBQ Company was awarded a “Best of Currituck” Award in 2021–I doubt it was the first time—but it shows that even their friends and neighbors recognize their worth in and to the community. Well done, all of you!

If my review and pictures have helped you out then please give me a thumbs up!!!!!Nice and clean BBQ meat place. It’s very popular. Plenty of different BBQ sauce to choose from. Huge outdoors picnic area when the seating inside is full. This is a place you get your food from the counter. Prices seem reasonable and staff are loud but friendly. We have eaten her twice in two years. Great place to stop and grab a quick lunch.

It's a counter service with several tables. We ordered the meat combo with pork, brisket and chicken (white meat 50¢ extra). The briskets had a good smoke favor and the hush puppies were great. The price was very reasonable and the servers were pleasant.

One of the best BBQ places I've ever been to. So glad my friends and I got to experience this spot. We stopped by and placed a family meal of an order. We got everything from the pulled beef brisket, brisket burnet ends, rotisserie chicken, meat combos (1 of each of the 3), and some ribs. Now what sets this place apart is not only is the BBQ amazing the sides and sauces set the bar. Get the mac n cheese, baked beans, potato sales, hush puppies, and sweet potato casserole. The hush puppies had to be everyones favorite. Something about the crunchy exterior and warm cornbread had us all raving. The sauces here are no joke. Get all of them to sample. I personally like the South Carolina BBQ sauces. Something about the strong mustard and vinegar flavor made it delish. Honestly if we didn't have to drive 4 hours home we'd probably order more to go. The location is spotless and the staff has Covid conditions in place with social distancing. They also feature an open bench area outside for seating as well. This spot got really busy during lunch time, but don't expect a long wait. If you want authentic North Carolina BBQ this is your spot. They have great Southern entrees and sides

Ran into this place totally by chance driving from Norfolk to the OBX. Small town vibe and friendly staff. Basically a walk-up counter and they call you to grt your food in a Styrofoam container. Limited seating available indoors. The food was incredibly awesome! The pulled beef briscut was the best I've had outside of Texas! Hush puppies came to us hot and crispy outside. Sides of Mac and cheese, slaw, sweet potato casserole and baked beans were all delicious. Clearly a gem on the Aberlemarle Highway!

Great bbq, used to love stopping here. 2 customers in front of me no one was waiting. They forgot my order and served others after me. Asked young guy at counter he was not friendly when I asked where my order was. Should of had in 5 minutes but it took over 30. Sad to say last visit as barely got an answer to where my order for a bbq was.

First of all, Jayci was just a delight, greeting us walking in the door. Her personality shown through and provided a comforting and fun wait for our incredible meals.Where do I start with the food? Down to the fountain Cheerwine (a delicacy, rare in Delaware) and the baked beans, the ribs, the sweet potato casserole, the burnt ends sandwich, the Mac n cheese, the giant hush puppies and the peach cobbler…. Everything we had was so tasty, and clearly made with someone’s whole heart and soul in it. I know I’m missing some items but it absolutely put a feather in the cap of our trip coming back from OBX. It’s a mandatory stop from now on.

My wedding was Oct. 7, 2023. I had booked another catering company and 30 days prior to my wedding I discovered the company had scammed me and taken my money. I was devastated. I was referred to Currituck BBQ by my wedding planner. Despite the short notice, Currituck was so accommodating. The price was comparable to other companies I had looked at. The day of the wedding went off without a hitch. The appetizer bar was incredible and the crab dip was some of the best I’ve ever had. The brisket was tender and so flavorful. My favorite was the mac and cheese (and I am a mac and cheese snob). Everyone at my wedding raved over the food. I even had several tell me the other company did me a favor allowing me to find this gem of a restaurant. I am forever grateful and I will be coming to Currituck to get more food soon.
