Always a must stop when we are in town. Our puppy loves this place and always feels at home. I love the variety, customer service, and sense of acceptance from other animal lovers. They have the most insane treat, toy, food, and supplement selection. Staff is knowledgeable and passionate about informing customers. I love that they offer a self washing station as well. We also love seeing little Katie girl when she's in.

The store was lovely. There were many different rooms for food, treats, clothing, leashes, and other pet products.I wish I had my dog with me at the time, but there were 3 other cute pups in the store to love on.Prices were reasonable. There were many products made locally (which I always try and buy) and a variety of really adorably decorated treats.The store was very clean and well stocked. Big selection of dog food and treats, most of which looked healthy and organic. There were also all natural pet products- everything from flea and tick prevention to anti-anxiety.I didn't exactly feel welcomed when I arrived- sort of like I entered into some side conversations between staff.

Even though this is geared more to dog parents I was very happy to discover a little cat section that was full of good quality food brands I was looking to buy.I was however disappointed to find several boxes of pouch food items expired… a whole section said best before Sept 2022! That means for over a year no one bothered to check or remove expired foods..? The others were at least expired more recently in 2023 but still, most customers wouldn’t think to check and that really could make a pet sick. If it were a big chain I would’ve left a lower star review but i do think it’s a lovely store and want to support small businesses—especially one offering healthy pet foods, so instead I shared my observation at the checkout and hopefully they will be more diligent with not leaving expired food items out for sale going forward.I still will recommend to pup owners and be back to shop because I live nearby, it truly is a lovely store & I’m happy with the higher quality food brands I like to buy for my cat.

*Detailed Review* WOW! This is SUCH a cute & fun place for dogs & dog owners! It was simply a God-send for my brother & I. As soon as you pull up to this little house-style shop you know the owners of this place love dogs & when you walk in that's more than confirmed.This isn't just any "pet store" like many larger chain franchises. It's so inviting & comfortable. Pretty much anything you can possibly imagine needing or wanting for your dog or in our case, puppy, is available here. But they don't carry just any type of supplies but specialize in carrying products that are GOOD for your pet & are well versed in all that they offer.They have a wide range of pet food, treats, apparel, toys & supplies in general. They even have t-shirts for pet owners, lol. Despite having spent about half an hour here we didn't get a chance to see everything they had to offer. You could spend an hour here easily & still not see it all.The staff, in this visit particularly Erica, was so well informed & helped us with getting the right kind of food, treats, toys & even a winter coat for my brother's new rescue puppy, Halo. Because Erica is a dog owner herself, she also was able to advise us on some ways to even help train Halo. Which we desperately welcomed.You can bring your dog into the store & Halo was thrilled to be able to play with Erica's dogs out front in the fenced-in area while we shopped. Her dogs were very well behaved & welcomed Halo like she was family. They have water bowls placed throughout the store & outside just in case a customers' dogs get thirsty while visiting; and asked if it was ok to give Halo a couple treats. Needless to say Halo loved it here as much as we did, lol.It's easy to tell it's a local favorite for pet owners due to the amount of people that came in just while we were there. And even with a full store, the staff made us feel important & we were well taken care of. By the time we left the entire parking area was full. Everyone was so friendly, even the other customers (several you could tell were regulars because the staff knew them by name as well as what they needed).If you're looking for a great place to call your "pet supply home", look no further because this is it. I'm so glad we didn't go all the way into Boone to the larger pet stores because this store was exactly what we were looking for & even exceeded our expectations.I couldn't recommend this cute little pet shop any higher, it's definitely deserving of all 5 stars. The staff keeps their dogs in the fenced in yard or in the shop (so cute). Lots of options, adorable dog treats-- if you love your pets (or know someone who does), it's a must.During our visit, I made sure to return so I could play with the dogs some more, great small town spot for pet therapy. 😉

i always enjoy my experience here. the barkery has many cookie options- which are all so cute. there isn't generic chain food/treats. actual good, highly rated, clean ingredients. i am very particular about dog food ingredients and there are many high quality, trustworthy options. the real treat is getting to see sarah every time i come in. i look forward to seeing her, as well as the other personal dogs of course. they are all always so well behaved. definitely a favorite and necessary stop for each visit.

I visited this awesome shop to self bathe my pooch. The washing space was very clean and well stocked variety of soap products. The store is amazing and has everything imaginable for your pet. I highly recommend visiting this shop while in the area. I will be back soon!

This store is AMAZING. Literally, you can find anything that you may need. The prices were also very reasonable. We didn't have our dog with us this trip but I can't wait to bring him here. There is even a fenced in yard where he could have played. The service was also very good. This store is a must stop if you have a dog or cat!!

Owner and staff have gone out of their way to order items for me and have event stayed open for me when I've needed something for my boys. (2 cats and 2 dogs). Great service! They have everything from pet toys, shampoo, outfits, and treats! The employees were very helpful with finding things! They even have a pet area outside that is gated! They also allowed our dog inside and seemed like they were very experienced with dogs. Great pet shop, five stars.

My Best Friend's Barkery is a fantasy land for animals and their human parents! I have never seen so many fabulous items, food, treats, toys for both dogs and cats as are offered here.The owner is a walking pet encyclopedia...she has more knowledge than many DVM's. Her staff is also well versed and always happy to greet pets and their owners.Go once and you will be a forever customer!

When we went the lady at the counter was arguing on the phone with someone did not greet us, we waited for a about 5-10 mins before another worker came out and assisted us with our items, we had a form that the local animal shelter gives for a few free starter items, WHICH I WILL SAY IS AMAZING THEY DO THAT! Got at least $80 worth of free products, we are very thankful for And ive not seen another place do something like this. Prices are a little high, my sister bought a leash and a harness for $50+ , but that is expected with boutique stores like this. And the store is a little cludderd with, but they do have a lot of inventory for animals and some items ive never seen before.

Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and helpful far beyond my expectations. There are other places I could buy the same products or buy online and have them delivered but I will gladly make the drive to to My Best Friend's Barkery. I was chatting with Erika about the dog food I was buying and why I chose those particular items. She remembered me from a call I had made to the shop well over a month ago! 🤯 It's not the norm to run across folks like that anymore. To say I was impressed would be a ridiculous understatement.

We were immediately greeted by the owners 2 dogs, Sara and Peaches. What cuties! They have a huge selection of items for your dogs or cats. Food, treats, toys, clothing, accessories, at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff/owners. A great place to support a local business. We spent a lot of time just looking around, talking to the owners, and loving on the pooches.

I went in for an emergency harness because my 5 month old Weimaraner puppy decided to chew through hers while we were out driving. The girl working today was so helpful! She showed me all the options, gave me a demonstration on how to put each one on, and gave me a rundown on the different types and what they were best for. I was a little worried they were going to be too expensive based on the location, but I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was. Plus everything I saw was made on the US, which was a huge plus! Definitely recommend.

Every kind of dog food or treat you can imagine! Your greeters are 4 (or 5?) fur babies. They're all adorable! And the humans are very helpful as well. Had been other places looking for a life jacket for our "baby girl". We either couldn't take her into the store or the associates didn't know how it was supposed to fit. No problem here! Had her fitted in 15 min.! Unique collars, leashes & beds, too.

Such friendly staff and the people who work there are great too!!😁 i didnt expect to find a dog who so openly let me rub her belly, but she was awesome!! Made us miss ours at home. But my husband got the coolest stroller for our little dog and she now has a safe place to cuddle when i go out for a walk ot we go to the pub. We bought a dried duck head home for our big dog and she found it in our bag when we got in and tried to eat it, bag and all...she loved it!!

The store was well stocked and lots of items. The sales people who worked there were very nice. Unfortunately, the old lady who worked there which I assume was the owner was rude, not at all helpful, and disrespectful to customers. She needs to learn what customer service is and how to treat others with kindness and respect. I refuse to patronize any establishment when the owner show a lack of common courtesy to their customers. If you want to be treated poorly, like a dog, this the the place for you.

This is the best source for healthy food, treats, toys, and supplies for your dogs and cats. I love it and stop in there often. I travel an hour and a half to get there, but it is the best! +Coach Jon, Old Fort NC
