We went on the off season in December around 3:30 pm and we were happy they were open. The guy said we could use our golf cart until the last ferry came in at 11. The downside was that our first cart's battery had already drained quite a bit by the time we got to the grocery store but they graciously replaced it with a new cart. We drove out to the beach and the battery was starting to get pretty low on the way back to the rental place around 7:30, my husband had to push us up the last hill in the dark and then we coasted to the rental place. It made for a funny travel story for us but people might want to be really careful about the battery situation.

All pricing was upfront and no surprises. The cart of clean, looked new, fully charged when I got it. It held a 90% charge after driving two day or about 10 miles. Mine even came with a little riding buddy.

Do not book in advance, they will steal your money if you want to cancel for any reason, including bad weather!!! Their bookings are 100% non-refundable and management/owner is non-cooperative. I had originally booked this for May 2023, and it was a complete washout scheduled so I called to get a refund, and I was told all bookings are final. They "broke" policy and allowed me to move the date vs cancelling, and when I showed up on the day I rescheduled to, they would not honor their word and made me pay TWICE! They are unfortunately the only cart company on the island, which allows them to be crooks. I emailed the owner to request a refund after the fact, and he accused me of not being an adult and stating I never called to change it. I even went to the extent of providing my cell phone records to prove that I had called. Business must be slow to take money from customers and provide no service!

I reserved a golf cart for a day trip to Bald Head Island. The pickup process was easy and all of the employees were friendly. There were no issues with the golf cart and I was able to use it all day and returned it easily with a full charge even after using it all day. I'd use their services again.

We enjoyed a wonderful day on the island. This is my 4th time visiting. The golf carts were great. They were clean and ready and the young men there to assist us, Elijah, Nick, Patrick, Dustin and Austin were very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this experience! It's a wonderful way to spend the day in a laid back atmosphere.

We rented a golf cart on BaldHead Island. The cost has almost doubled over the past 4 years. Also they require csrts back by 4pm. So if you do a 1 day rental it was $119 for about 6-8 hoursUpdate: I talked with one of the owners about our experience at BHI. We are going to work jointly in the future to develop a plan for yachts that use the marina and need more value for the money. I had given this company a 1 star rating and am willing to upgrade and see what happens next time.

Went for a half day, wanted to catch the sunset on the island for our anniversary. Found it ridiculous that they close at 4PM. So if you returned the cart late (after 4) you have to pay for another day. I also found it annoying that the only form of payment is card. While I can appreciate the modern transactions, I sometimes just prefer to pay with cash. So the day was a bust.

Clean cart, fully charged. Quick check in. Rode around for hours with no problems. Everyone on the island was friendly. Don’t let prior negative reviews turn you away. Drop odd was also quick. You do however need to get the cart back by 4.

The online payment system was modern and convenient, the staff courteous and helpful, and there was a wide selection of modern carts available, reasonably priced. Sadly we were given a cart with a dud battery, so even though it was supposed to last all day, the battery was almost dead after only 90 minutes of light usage. We barely made it back to the port without getting stranded! If it can address this important maintenance issue this will be a great business.

Spent the day on Bald Head in August 2022. Excellent service. Cart was clean and fully-charged. Very comfortable seats. Could not have enjoyed the island as much without these guys!

Used for many years won’t use again after my last experience. Got our cart rental and immediately pointed out the battery wasn’t full before leaving. After expressing my concern of it dying in the heat with a newborn baby I was assured I was wrong and it wouldn’t happen in a dismissive manor. So of course it did and made the entire visit a waste of time and money. Called the office we rented from 3 times, left voicemails and still no word back a month later. Luckily someone was nice enough to tow us back. Upon arriving I let your employee Cameron know how I didn’t appreciate him endangering the life of my child with his negligence.In front of another customer was kind enough to turn to me and yea “YEA. I DONT CARE”. Solid customer service. I later saw him arrive at his car & thought I should advise him on his disrespect but maybe his employer will. Wouldn’t use this company if you have small children, elderly or medical conditions that won’t fair well in the heat walking back

Buyer Beware!! We rented a golf cart for my parents as a birthday gift, but we were unable to use it as my father had fallen ill. I called and the man there told me not to worry, they’d put it on hold until we could use it, transfer the “hold” for the future. Easy! Now, I’ve reached out to see about using the credit and they won’t honor it. My dad is to have a lung transplant & spinal surgery soon and we wanted to do this as a family, beforehand. They will not let us get a refund, use the credit, nothing and to be honest-they’ve been less than helpful! In the world today, why not HELP people instead of being all about the $? Please don’t use this company, they truly do not care. Sad.

First visit to BHI yesterday. After paying for our boat slip we walked around the building to the rental company. We had reserved and paid online with no problems. Upon arrival, a gentleman showed us to our cart and off we went. Returned the cart after 5 hours exploring the island. Great experience, friendly people!

We rented a 6-person golf cart. We reserved it online in advance so it only took a minute to check us in and get our cart. It couldn't have been easier or quicker! The cart was in great condition and fun to drive around the island. Dropping it off was just as quick and simple. The location is just a few stores away from the ferry which is extremely convenient. I highly recommend renting from Cary Cart!

Renter beware. Cart rentals need to be returned by 4pm. By the time you get over on the ferry, not much of a day. No need to do that to people on vacation. Can’t even stay for dinner.

My family has an upcoming trip planned to the island in late June. We have a large group, which includes 5 families - so we decided to rent an extra cart for the week. We have been monitoring the COVID situation very carefully and regrettably do not feel it safe, for 2 families to travel by plane from the West Coast. Because of this, we requested a cancellation ( 30 days before our arrival). We were told that a refund would not be granted / no exceptions.

If you go to Bald Head Island, NC it’s golf carts only. Which is awesome if you have kids. The rental hut is steps away from the marina dock and Cary Cart Company’s rental process is fast and efficient.

We were transient boat guests in the marina and decided to rent a golf cart for a half day. There were 100 carts in the lot but they would only rent one for a full day. We rented bikes instead and had a great time! Bad business practices.

We ordered a cart rental online for a two hour tour 2:30 - 4:30 for only $50 and that is a square deal, we could keep it all day for only $75, We arrived at the rental office, gave the man our last name and within 30 seconds were on our way in the cart to Old Baldy Lighthouse for a climb. The cart was clean, fully charged and in great shape. Thumbs up to Carry Cart Company Rentals. PS this was our first experience with this company.

We rented a golf cart for a recent day trip to BHI. We reserved online and was able to skip the line. They have plenty of carts available for rental and if you walk up to rent you have to fill out all your info on a tablet and it takes some time. If there are a bunch of people ahead of you it could be very time consuming.The cart we rented got a flat almost bear the conservancy center. We called the number on the keychain and we kept getting hung up on. They transferred me to someone who could help even though that is the option i selected initially. I called back several times and they kept answering and hanging up. Finally my sister in law called and finally got someone. We gave them our location and they said it would be about 10 minutes and someone would be there. It took 30 minutes and the guy who came to fix the flat was very rude and acted like we were an inconvenience to him. I tried to ask him a question and he made the comment to be careful what I say since he is the guy that is here to help. He changed the flat and took off, there was no apology, no have a great day. He literally threw the flat tire and jack in the back of his cart and left.Over all the trip was great and I know things happen. I will certainly rent from them again if we go back to BHI since it is pretty much the only source of transportation. But we had a good experience short of this one guy.Update 9-5-17: One of the owners followed up with me today in regards to the experience listed in this review. She seemed quite concerned and said she would speak with the employee and that his actions were uncalled for. I feel that she was sincere in her phone call and her apology. I changed the review from 4 stars to 5 stars, since this pushed their customer service over the top. They did not ask me to modify or change this review in any way.

Nothing like a monopoly to stick it to the customer. Here’s the deal, in the past, you didn’t have to have your cart in by 4pm. Now, return by 4pm or get charged for another day. For day-trippers, get stuck in the harbor area and the restaurants do their lunch-dinner changeover by closing at 4pm and reopening at 4:30. So you just end up heading home. Forget it - will NOT be back. Disconnected-from-market company. Understand the 4pm was fully disclosed during reservation booking. Just fully disclosing why I won’t be back.

We returned the cart 3 mins late and the older gentleman we checked back in with was extremely rude. We said it would have been nice to have a map of the island and his response was “well you should have asked for one.” Overall, bad customer service and unfriendly.

Very friendly staff! They had the cart fully charged and clean ready to go! We rented the cart for the whole day and we still had about 60-70% battery 🔋left!
