I went to this Dollar General Store like I usually do Sunday night at around 10:15 p.m. and was cut off from going in because the manager told me rudely they were closed. I'm getting very tired of the little girl, I think is the previous manager(Beanie) daughter- in- law being rude. Beanie stays at the Bakersville store more than the one she works at in Buladean, N. C. It plainly states on this web site that this store stays open until 11:00 on Sunday. I think the young girls that usually work in the store on the closing shift , do not want anyone to come in store after 10:00p.m. , no matter what time u close. I guess they want to go out and smoke that last hour. It's the only store in this small town or I would stop shopping there and I spend quite alot of money at this store. I'm going to begin to go about 12 mile out to Walmart. They stay open until the said time they have on their door and website. The shelves arent stocked very well ,but they say Dollar Store warehouse won't send them anything, that's a great way to run the store, blame it on the higher up people. It"s ridiculous to let an entire load of frozen or items that go into the refigeratated ssshelves,products sit in aisle until they have to be thrown out.

Great place to get the items you forgot at supermarket or too tired to drive i to spruce pine. They carry a great variety of essentials including cat food and treats ,motor oil ,soda,eggs etc only 3 minute drive or less.

Pretty average DG. A lot of the time there's racks of products sitting in the was of goods and out of the isle. The employees seem pretty nice when we've been there but over all it could use people to stock it better

This place looked like it was hit by a hurricane. Piles of merchandise in the aisles, strewn everywhere. But that's pretty par for Dollar General, and part of the charm. The staff was incredibly helpful and polite, and led me right to what I was looking for. But that's pretty par for rural NC. I love it. Like a treasure hunt!

This store has friendly staff and great prices! Store is just like most dollar generals and had stuff all over the place, but with the staff and great prices make it easy to overlook the clutter waiting to be stocked back on the shelves! Will continue to go here!

All I can say is the store is in a state of chaos! Empty shelves, boxes of inventory and empty boxes sitting around all over the place, stuff just placed wherever, beyond unorganized. All I can say here is people should take pride in where they work! The town of Bakersville is trying to take pride in and build up downtown. If the stores entering our quaint Mountain Town looks like no one cares ....why should anyone visiting our town care.

They only had 1 outfit I was trying to buy for an infant and it had no price tag so decided to try to make me pay 10$ for it.... Didn't put much time into trying to figure out the original price and just came up with a price to charge me which was outrageous for an infant onesie.

The staff is nice but they need to take care of product I can't tell you how many I bought Pokemon cards and they're all bent up LOL

It CANNOT be a coincidence that every, LITERALLY EVERY (not exaggerating!) DG we have stopped at in East TN, WNC High Country, Eastern KY & SW VA, their facilities were "out of order" when I asked to use them. (OOPS, I will say the ONE EXCEPTION was the Bakersville, NC DG. THEY allowed me to use their facilities!) However, It was the SAME EXACT STORY last year too! The last store in Spruce Pine, NC that said "out of order"? We left our items on the counter told them we didn't need them after all & left. The reason this is a "BIG DEAL"? I had a debilitating stroke a few years ago. I had to learn to walk again. I never regained the use of one arm, & I'm now incontinent. Sometimes the incontinence products ARE NOT sufficient! Corporate, If your employees find cleaning toilets beneath them? Then they need to find another job. I was over a chain of multi-state location video stores. My only supervisor was the owner himself. Even I cleaned the toilets/restrooms of they needed it! If a DG store has a restroom intended for public use? It should be REQUIRED to have said restroom available TO THE PUBLIC during ALL business hours. One of these days I'm gonna ask, be told "out of order" and IF I have an "accident"? I WILL sue DG. THAT IS A PROMISE! TAKE IT TO THE BANK! If I didn't need to go? I wouldn't ask. I'm not a 4 year old. I don't ask to go to the bathroom "just because" or because this one is "new & different" or "just to see what this one looks like". I dislike public restrooms. Most of them are gross! If at some point in the future there is a lawsuit for this reason? Don't be shocked if it is I......You all might should read up on your ADA guidelines....

I just want to thank the company for choosing to open a Dollar General in Buladean, NC it’s much needed.I apreciate Dollar General. They have everything I need until I make my monthly shopping. The staff works very hard and are always kind also very helpful. To me that’s a big deal.I hope they are paid well.Bakersville NC has a fantastic staff.all of Mitchell Country stors do ⭐️ 🌟 💫

Always a line and only one person running the register, the girl paged a man to the front 3 different times because she had at least 15 people in line and he never came to help her. Bad part is he was the shift supervisor for the night

Stuff everywhere, you have to move boxes and crates to find things, its like the space is too small for their inventory. Staff is nice, very friendly but this place is a cluster #%!%

Lady helping us was nice and polite. I used the bathroom which was adequately stocked. We found what we needed as we were just passing through.

Closed early for no good reason and continues to do so. Aisles are always cluttered and hard to get to what you want. Sometimes they have whole aisles blocked off with crates and boxes and they don't want to move it when you ask.
