I boarded my two dogs there for four days while I was on a vacation. They were well taken care of and were not stressed like they normally are at other boarding places. The cost was also super competitive, I was happy and will use them again.

Thought the place was very clean and nice. Only complaint I have is the charge for feeding your own food to your dog or cat. At $5.00 a feeding with my own food that I supply. I boarded 2 dogs so that's $10.00 a feeding twice a day. I read the reply from the owner and do understand. On another note after boarding our dog now has a bad case of Kennel cough. Took her to Vet to confirm. She is very sick and now on antibiotics to hopefully get over it. She had all shots as required by them. 400.00 for vet plus cost of boarding. Never again

Terrible communication that has caused us to not even use them. Requested a Studio far in advance and was told the day before that we were getting a small cramped space. Also claimed we didn’t submit shots when I was CC’d on the email and my vet confirmed that they sent information not once, not twice, but three separate times. The lady on the phone was rude and unhelpful.

I have taken my two fur babies here a couple of times and we have had wonderful experiences both times! My dogs were well cared for, the staff was open and caring to both them and myself, especially when it came to leaving them for the first time! They're great at answering the phone and giving updates. 10/10 would recommend!

The staff is phenomenal. Sharon is so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. She put us immediately at ease. Our GSD was made to feel welcomed, and that made us very happy. He was super excited to see/sniff everything, and everybody…not a bit shy!

Gwen and the staff are great. Easy to book online, prices are great and my boys always come home happy and shiny. Nail trimming for one of my pups is a real challenge, but they always get it done. 💪 🐕 🐕 😊 (Picture is pups relaxing after their stay.)

Thanksgiving plans couldn’t bring my baby so I came to these guys. Very friendly on the drop off and pick up. Extremely helpful over the phone. They even offered my baby Thanksgiving meal treats. Doesn’t feel like I just dropped her off at a boarding place, it felt like I dropped her off with friends . Great job.

I have been taking my dog here since he was 4 months old. He's now 7. Great facility with a great staff. My dog is always happy to arrive and is well taken care of during his stay. Highly recommend.

I have boarded my dogs and cats here for the last 9 years. I've only ever had one issue and it was quickly resolved, The staff is kind and patient when your animal is well behaved. If you don't have good control of your pet, dogs, it is understandable they would get a little tiffy. Everyone has bad days, sometimes the staff there isn't always as cute and cuddly as we would like them to be, BUT.... I trust them! My dogs are always excited to go and happy to get home. Even with my current dog, an overly rambunctious, un-neutered bloodhound, who can have some food issues sometimes and gets so excited to be there he could drive a Saint to sin, I TRUST THEM and more importantly, my dogs trust them. Their hours are wonky for those who have straight jobs, but their time is worked around taking care of the animals and keeping a schedule for the animals, because they are all about the animals. You are not going to like everyone you meet, but my dogs, as are most dogs, intelligent and know a bad person or place when they see or smell it. If my dog likes them, I like them; my vet likes them, I like them. Good people, reasonable rates and a happy dog. all important things to consider. With the cats that I have taken there, well they had personality issues before they went; they're cats, what else would you expect? The few times I have had my cats there, nails trimmed, well groomed and well fed. They don't like to ride so, they aren't going to be happy either way, but they were well cared for, always! I do wish they had pick up on Sundays, but completely understand why they do not.

All it would have taken was a heartfelt apology, a sincere commitment to look into the matter and an offer to refund my boarding fees.That wasn't, however what I experienced when I complained to Pet's Companion Inn about the fact that my dog came home after staying there for five days with dried, caked feces under her tail, around her anus, on her back feathers and right flank. She was so filthy it necessitated that I bathe her after I had been traveling for 6 hours and wanted nothing more than to relax with my sweet dog.The response of Pet's Companion was to deny this ever happened. They essentially called me a liar. They asked why didn't I notice it the moment I picked her up to which I responded that her tail was down, her right flank was not visible from where I stood at the checkout desk, it was dark outside. Because I notified them of this over two weeks later, they asked why I hadn't said something sooner (a legitimate question) to which I responded that since that night I had been in the hospital recovering from surgery and two broken bones. Neither of these explanations fazed them and they continued to deny it happened. When I asked the owner what could possibly be my motive for lying to them. Her words were, "I can't know your motives." The utter contemptuous, defensive, and hostile way I was treated shocked me as I have been using this establishment since the 1990's and have recommended them to others over the years. I thought my status as a long-time and loyal customer might have meant something but alas it did not. I thought they would want to get to the bottom of this lapse in their care but by denying it existed they didn't have to examine their procedures.My goal in complaining was not to get my money back, it was to get them to figure out why my dog was left in the condition she was. No dog or cat should lie in their excrement for any time much less for the days it takes to dry on their fur-- so completely dry, by the way, that even with warm water and soap I had to pull it out with my fingernails. Since they've given me no other choice but to warn others lest this happen again, I am writing this review. I believe without some bad publicity they will never examine their attitudes or change their methods of care. Please look at your pet and imagine his/her plight in this awful place and then share this with anyone who might be looking for a boarding kennel in Durham County. You cannot be assured either your pet or you will be treated with care and respect from Pet's Companion Inn.

If you need to board your dog and live near RDU, go to Pet's Companion Inn.We can't imagine letting anyone else take care of our dog when we need to head out of town. Be sure to request a studio, don't know about you, but it means a lot to know our dog is in a comfortable space and not just a kennel when we have to board him. (Although, he may not care as much—seems perfectly chipper enough when we pick him up when a Studio hasn't been available.)I've said this before, but professional and caring is what you expect from pet boarding. The fact that our dog is excited to see his "vacation family" when we drop him off is a clear sign that Gwen and her Pet's Companion Inn crew are going above and beyond.
