The server was great, the location is nice, and the ambience of eating outside is great. The outdoor option allows for dogs too. My food was good, the fries were hot, and the ranch was on point. I had a quinoa black bean veggie burger. They do have nice vegetarian options. It’s my hubs hot dog that was off. He didn’t get what he ordered. They have him a standard chili dog, his was supposed to have sauerkraut, mustard and something else. He didn’t complain. He also noticed it was barely warm. He liked the fact the chili was bean less though. Over all, could have been better.

We have been visiting Avon for many years, but had never made our way to the froggy dog. We were really happy with our meals. The service was really great, attentive and professional.We would definitely come back to eat again. The jumbo shrimp was completely scrumptious.My only suggestion I guess would be to fix the menu as chipotle mac & cheese says on the menu says that it with bowtie pasta, and it came with elbow macaroni instead. Pretty minor situation, but the person in our party specifically ordered it because of the bowtie pasta.Thank you we will be back.

Went there after Church with some of my friends on the island, and we had the best time.There was ample parking and the walk leading into the restaurant is easy on everyone young and old.The bathrooms smell so nice and beautiful(the men’s room though).Blake the manager such a wonderful man checked on us, if everything was going well and it was as our server Ensar, a very delightful and cheerful young man, he had our food on time and the orders were perfect, his demeanor was super.If you’re a lover of music, they play such interesting songs on the overhead speakers, not so loud and it just calms the area.The menu is children friendly, and they have a new brunch menu. Was our first stop after getting into town and had a really enjoyable experience. For a Wednesday in the offseason it was still busy and they even had live entertainment later on in the evening. Good local beer selection and our server was friendly and prompt. Food portions were very generous and delicious. The only reason why I did not give five stars is because of baked potato was a little dry and old but still overall fish and seafood were great. The oysters were good and reasonably priced. Well there are a lot of different options over the town I would definitely say this is a great go-to place that is not overpriced and has a good local vibe.

To start off our server was extremely slow, inattentive, and slightly rude. Prices where high. Really $25 for a these burger? $25 for Mac n Cheese with shrimp? Quality of food was terrible. 6 in our party and every plate with issues. Issues where not issues from being rushed. But from being over cooked or under cooked. So after a long day of driving we where all staved and needed food. Definitely will not eat there again and recommend no one eat there. Was really hoping for something so much better.

We were greeted and seated right away. Our server Lea was a sweetheart. She was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The fried shrimp were very tasty. The French fries, cucumber salad and coleslaw were good too. I didn’t care for the mashed potatoes bc they had skin on them. Overall we had a great experience. I would definitely eat there again while in the area.Parking: Dirt parking lot.

We went looking for the specialty hot dogs but discovered they're just available at lunch however, we were glad we stayed. Our group had flounder, shrimp skewers, fried shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms and all were very good and satisfying. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We had a bit of a wait to be seated but not unusually long for dinner time at a great place.

This was our first time in the area, and we were looking for good food. The froggy dog lives up to the expectations! Konstance, our server was wonderful with the recommendations, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The food felt freshly sourced right from the veggies to the seafood. Will definitely be back to eat here when we're back in the area!

We passed The Froggy Dog so many times during our week stay on Hatteras Island. We made a decision to have dinner on our last night and we were so glad we did. The restaurant is huge and because of the very unseasonably warm weather after Christmas, all the outdoor seating were taken. We were glad the restaurant had so many dining patrons. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely spacious and well decorated. We were greeted and quickly seated. Our server Konstance was so delightful. She brought our drinks, told us the specials, and gave her recommendations. I always appreciate servers who will give recommendations because they have tried the food and know what’s good. Our appetizer of Cannonball Shrimp was an ample amount of fried shrimp drenched in a Sriracha mayo sauce. It was crunch, spicy, and delicious. The husband got the crab cake dinner which to quote him “is so crabby”. I opted for the Atlantic Grilled Salmon on a bed of spinach and and wild mushrooms. To say it was delicious is an understatement. The two pieces of salmon were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. Our week of relaxation ended with a great seafood meal at The Froggy Dog because everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food was perfect.

Got there around 5:30 PM on a Sunday and was immediately seated. Good choice of drinks, cocktails came out relatively quickly. We were just ordering appetizers, and they came out after about 10 to 15 minutes, we were lost in conversation and I was surprised that they got there so quick. My wife ordered fried pickles, I ordered the canonball shrimp; she is not a huge fan of spicy food, while I like to sign waivers for food that is super spicy. Surprisingly, pickles had a little bit too much kick for her, but the sauce on the shrimp was perfect. We ended up sharing the dishes, and ordered the fried cheese appetizer. I was fully expecting to order a second round of appetizers, but the amount we got on each plate was more than enough, and we ended up taking two boxes back to the beach house with us. The couple that was with us ordered the she crab soup, along with half dozen oysters. they both loved the soup, and Chris mentioned that the oysters were super fresh. My last visit was 23 years ago, so I’ve vaguely remember what I had when I was a kid, but it’s easy to tell why they are an OBX staple, and hopefully I can get back for another Hatteras island iced tea and more cannonball shrimp when I grab me a shirt before we leave!!

Place is a super nice little vacation spot, usually get seated quickly and the service is exceptional! The food is decent for what it is. The oysters are fresh local Hatteras oysters, however the first couple we had were not cleaned very well and we ended up with a couple of shells in them. Once we got through the first couple, they were great though and the cocktail sauce has an excellent kick to it. The tuna bites are also pretty good. After that, my partner got the mahi mahi sandwich and she loved it, said it was great! The captians burger (mushroom and swiss) I ordered was good. They don't cook the burgers to order though, so mine came out very well done, just something to be aware of! Shout out to our waitress Nan who did a fantastic job and made our experience as awesome as possible!

Well, I'm not impressed. Let's start with the hush puppies. It was hard to swallow. Dry and box like taste. It was so hard to swallow. I took one piece, and that was it. Pic for reference. Not even the butter make them any better. I wish I had a paper napkin to spit it out, but it was cloth napkins. No corn flavor or corn at all. The soup had so much celery that it was hard to taste the flavor of the soup. Cesar salad with salmon was also not impressive. The piece of salmon was the size of a half dollar bill. The cost for adding this piece was $8.99 plus the cost of the salad. We passed this place a few times a week, and definitely not one that we will be coming back.On the service side, Constance was a great server 👍

The one star is for our server, Erin. She was attentive and polite. I would love for the owner to publicly answer how in the world they can serve this garbage for $34? I feel completely ripped off, and I'm not a "Google Review" type of person, but I feel the public deserves to know to spend their hard earned money elsewhere. The food was not only overpriced, but it was not well made, and you can get bigger portions in a McDonald's Happy Meal. The Oysters Rockefeller, not pictured/not included in price, was an absolute mess of ingredients they plopped on top of the shells. The blackened tuna bites were also a mess and served on old lettuce. The coconut shrimp tasted like a freezer meal. Please do not give these people your money. I have never had a more disappointing dining experience in my entire life.

This was our first visit and won't be our last. They have an extensive menu both for the seafood fanatic or those who prefer land-based foods. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My shrimp po-boy was very good and the Hatteras chowder was even better. Add this to your must do list if in the Avon NC area.

Erin served us well! We drove 750 miles earlier today and were recommended by a friend to stop here for dinner...... Big Win! Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent atmosphere! 3 big "Ribbits" (aka - cheers) to The Froggy Dog and staff!Wheelchair accessibility: We were tired, so we walked up the ramp - other than having some nails popped, it got the job done with little fatigue. 😂 It's a good ramp, and I hope in 40 years that it's still that way when I need to use it for wheels!

They were short staffed on a Saturday our food took awhile which we didnt mind we were just going to sit on the beach afterwards. The food was basic lacked taste and flavor the burger was my fault for not saying medium all burgers come medium well unless you ask and hummus we took it home after a few bits to add more flavor. The fries are some of the best I've had. Jermey the bartender is on point he was pretty busy and still was personable with small talk. Will go back and eat the seafood next time.

While on vacation we purely stopped because of the name. But it ended up being really good. They had mocktails for kids and they found that fun. We had a variety of foods with our groups. Redneck place, however we ordered online and the food was disgusting. Chicken, too cooked. Shrimps, too cooked. Clam chowder was tasting cigarette. For the price, it was extremely mid.Be aware, i would recommend eat in house, the experience could be better and food as well.
