Employees follow you around the store like you're about to steal some lawn ornaments, lol. But when I actually needed assistance I ended up standing around for 15 minutes trying to get to a hot air balloon, but there were too many employees bunched up talking for me to get through. Then a couple bought the balloon we were trying to buy so I looked online and found out they were $30 cheaper online! After seeing reviews for how kids and other customers were treated, and the ridiculous markup on prices in this place, I decided to go elsewhere.

Atlantic Beach, Morehead City and the surrounding area is great for kites. I had to pick up a few spools of line here. They have nice wooden spools with varying weights which were helpful for flying my homemade box kite in 20 mph winds or more. The staff was knowledgeable and kind and helpful. I hope that stores like these continue to thrive.

Spoke with one of the owners and he was super helpful, even found a part to a discontinued kite that I own! (Seriously that’s awesome) You can buy kites online but you need to go here and talk with the staff and support their business. Super helpful and tons of neat/fun kites. Got one that my 4 year old could fly. She loves it.

My family loves this kite shop. We visit multiple times a year and my husband has purchased several kites. We have a toddler who loves it there, too. The owners have been kind and helpful every visit. We are surprised to see the few poor reviews about their shopping experience related to kids. The owners interact with us every time we go. Kites unlimited is highly recommended.

We’re from out of town and we absolutely loved this place! The couple who run this place are beyond nice. They made sure to explain the pros and cons of the kites and helped us choose the best one for the kids. We loved the customer service. We left with more than we had planned on buying and if we’re ever in town again we’ll definitely be stopping by again.

Wow, what a fun place to shop. They carry so many kites, kite accessories, flags, whirl- a -gig, wooden ice chests, chocolate, peanuts, solar light, ETC. The Staff are very Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Always have fun and find new things to buy. Handicap parking and access.

Really neat place, don't know how we missed it in the past, but glad we found it. We were looking for a puzzle or two with a local theme, for gifts, and they did not disappoint. They had many different options from a few hundred pieces to 1000 to many thousand pieces, with many different scenes and brands to choose from. If you're looking for a puzzle, stop here first!! They also have a selection of games, kites, and bird feeders and supplies. The owners were friendly and very helpful. Again, really neat place, we plan to visit on our next beach trip.

My family loves this place and the people who run it! I love how they will break out a game and show you how to play it, and actually play it with you! They are soooo friendly and remember us every time we go in there! I hadn't been in years! My 17 year old was maybe 10 the last time we went in and they still remembered her! She loved that! 😁❤️

Such a lovely store! Filled with amazing kites, puzzles and more! The staff are super kind and helpful, the prices are affordable and they have a little kite museum filled with the most interesting pieces. I love giraffes and Jerri(Jerry, I'm not sure how she spells her name) reserved the last giraffe puzzle for me to pick up before I left town. I am forever grateful for that act of kindness and I highly recommend her shop if you're looking for a kite or just a unique Atlantic Beach experience. I can't wait to return one day soon to expand our new kite collection.

This is a place to get a really nice kite that will hold up a long time, not a kite to throw in the trash at the end of the trip. The prices reflect that but the products are obviously high-quality and the owners know about kites. I just cannot get over the way the shopkeeper spoke to my mom and that is why I’m rating the shop lower. She was just trying to explain what she was looking for and the man cut her off mid-sentence and made perhaps the rudest comment I’ve ever heard from a staff member in a business establishment. He is obviously neurodivergent. I have been going into the shop since I was a kid and I remember he has always been kind of awkward and abrasive. This was still a very off-putting encounter and we got out of there as fast as possible. It’s really too bad because the shop is cool. I don’t think I’ll ever go back there. If you go in, just be prepared to have extra patience and understanding for the man running the shop. Also, although the shop is really colorful and attractive to kids, I get the sense that they would freak out if kids made any effort to actually interact with their products.

People are nice staff members were nice you needed help they would help you find what you're looking for they were very cautious to wrap up your product that you bought make sure everything was safe for travel the best in one of the best stores I've ever been in well-stocked well maintained clean varieties of all different types of yard art an indoor art handmade welded made two stores put together packed with so much things to look at I would recommend this door to anyone. To buy any yard stuff kites were amazing

Such a fun store! We went in on a whim while on vacation, and found out that they had the exact replacement piece we've been looking for everwhere! All the staff were very knowledgeable, and extremely friendly.We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

Love this store! Lots of puzzles, educational toys and tons of outdoor art. And then there are the kites... This is a family run store and so they are extremely helpful and genuinely like to listen to their customers in order to best direct to products.

I remember this store from 30 years ago so they definitely deserve a review. I've found some good board games over the years. They should really put "and Puzzles" on their sign too as the puzzle selection is impressively huge and larger than the kites, and people should know about it.

My four children and I went into this store with grandparents to buy some toys. The elderly gentleman/worker was ABSOLUTELY RUDE!! My kids were looking at the stuffed animals and were touching them. He fussed at them saying that they weren’t there to play with. We thought he was joking like a grandpa might do so we smiled and giggled. And he said, “I’m serious they aren’t to play with!”I would order online rather than support a rude small business like this…and I am all for supporting small local businesses!Update: And in response to Covid comment…if you don’t want the toys to be touched, then put them out of reach of children…it’s a toy store for goodness sake!!!

Wow! If you are interested in puzzles or kites, whirligigs or bird feeders come here! The BEST selection of puzzles I have ever seen. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Been in business over 32 years. You can get, gulp, a 40,000 piece puzzle here! Have fun!

Went because I was at the beach and needed a kite. Had a very wonderful experience, the sales person pointed out what some of the kites looked like assembled and showed me exactly how to assemble and adjust the kite I wanted. Would absolutely recommend this store to anyone who is interested in a kite. Kites are very good quality too, far better than any thing you would find at a walmart or beach shop.

Great place to get a kite. Not just for the beach, but to use in general. Everyone is very friendly and will guide you right to what you want from beginner to expert kites. The store has a lot more than just kites. There are plenty of games and puzzles to entertain you. Good place all around.

I really like this kite shop as that's where I bought my first dual line kite. The owner Don is helpful. But the other day while I was in the shop some other guy I've never seen in there followed me like a hawk. Made me feel like I couldn't enjoy shopping there because I was assumed to be a shoplifter when I walked through the door.

The friendliest people you'll ever meet. Not only friendly but very knowledgeable in the products that they are selling and they don't try to sell you things you don't need or things that may be out of your skill set. Just let them know what particular hobby you are interested in and how skilled you are in that hobby and they will point you in the right direction.

Second time there to buy a puzzle(s). Read other reviews for creepy guy. I don't know if he was on shoplifting patrol or what. Like you were going to shoplift a puzzle in big square boxes or assembled kites. I wouldn't leave my wife alone in this place!

Rainy day? Got kids? There are so many puzzles & GAMES inside. I had no idea and I've seen the shop for years but never gone inside because I didn't need a kite. Super helpful /friendly staff. A+++

this place has a nice range of kites and games to choose from, good prices. you can find little inexpensive things to get a quick gift, and then a decent selection of kites. they also repair kites i think & there is a flying club for kites down there they can tell you more about. the people who work there are super nice and very knowledgeable about kites. i enjoyed this place, i'll be going back

Amazing customer service. Gracious staff. Most helpful during a recent purchase of a box kite that was defective and replaced without hesitation. Highly recommend these folks, as they are great ambassadors for the area.

Shop is very unique, we loved it and will be returning. The employees are very nice and are more about having good conversation and giving ideas about local attractions more than trying to sell you everything.
