We’ve had an excellent experience with West Asheville Family Vet. Their team is professional and super kind. Since one of my dogs was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, we have spent more time than planned at the vet this year. I feel grateful to have a vet that is transparent about cost and willing to take the time to discuss treatment.Huge thanks to Ali and Randi at the front desk who helped schedule all our appts, our amazing tech Megan who brought good vibes and tons of info, and also to Dr. Couch who took all the time we needed when we had questions and made us feel really supported.The cancer diagnosis felt like it pulled the rug out from under us, and their team showed up for us and took great care of my dog. Stella is doing great after her surgery, and I know that WAFV will be there for our family in the future. ❤️

It was pouring rain when we arrived with two cats to get their regular check ups. We were allowed to back into the parking lot near the front door so we didn’t have to carry our cats through the rain. Everyone there did their best to calm down the cats who were extremely agitated due to the car ride and the weather. I even got a call the following morning to check on the cats and make sure they had settled in again at home! Thank you West Asheville Family Vet!!!

I brought my pups Papa and Rambo and other than one rude office worker everyone else was amazing! The vet tech that helped us was extremely educated, sweet and informative. The vet was also great. She took the time to listen to me rather than just rushing us out. They were also extremely affordable!

Love this place as a West Asheville resident. I walk my dog to appointments and the staff is always so kind and accommodating. He's a nervous guy and they do the most to help him be at ease during visits. Great care and reasonable pricing. A community asset.

We needed a quick visit but not an emergency- we called as soon as we realized around 4pm on a Thursday and they got us an appt the next day. We could drop off or go with him. They immediately gave us a low estimate and a high estimate depending on sedation. They were able to clean the wound check his ear for infection, and also went ahead and updated his shots and three different medication’s to go home on for a very reasonable price. They did not have to sedate. They seemed very conservative with their treatment. Overheard a conversation while I was standing there were someone called and they got them in that day. We have found our new vet. Limited parking out front but both times we had to go. There was no issue with getting parking. They also called the next day to check and see how he was doing and how he was doing on the medication. From our experience I would strongly recommend West Asheville Family Vet.

We have had wonderful experiences with the vets and staff at WAFV! My large dog Tegan is very anxious at the vet and the doctors and techs seem to know just how to handle her. We cannot recommend this clinic highly enough!

Only amazing things to say about our first experience with WAVL Family Vet! They were absolutely fantastic with our "talkative" hound pup and extremely thorough on her annual visit. The staff and docs alike all seem very dedicated to the animals and their hoomans and it was a pleasure working with them from scheduling through check-up. I had been hesitant to switch my vet because I had previously had my timid girl with the same vet for over a decade. After feeling like just a number with them I switched to West Asheville Family Vet and my only regret is not doing it sooner. They have only been seeing my Mille for less than a year and we feel seen and care has been top notch. So thankful to have them as Mille ages.

Extremely rude. My wife’s cat was in distress and the vet didn’t care. It’s all about the money. I get constant emails from them trying to sell me stuff.They are more concerned about money than your pet. They will probably say they don’t recognize my name and it’s false. We are new to Asheville and really enjoy this vet. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Couch is amazing. Dr. Couch and the staff always spend plenty of time in our appointment. They are very thorough and the prices are fair. They also offer Saturday appointments. I definitely would recommend this vet practice.

The office is clean and modern, the scheduling is efficient, and the staff are knowledgable and professional, especially the office manager, who is always welcoming, personable, and makes you feel like a person, not just a customer. He keeps the place working like clockwork, and still takes the time to listen, and to set you at ease when you are worried about your pet.The Vet techs and Vet have also been patient with me when I asked for more information on the treatments they recommended, and they customize the treatment plan to my elderly dog's unique needs. I also like the fact that this is a small local practice and not part of some big corporate chain, like many others have become in the past few years. I highly recommend bringing your pet to WAFV.(For the record, I am not employed there, and have no financial interest in the business.)

The most genuine and caring vet!!! So happy to have found them. They called the next day to check on my dog when she just had allergies. Dr. Hubbard and her assistant have so much wisdom. Certainly love WAFV and will be returning anytime my pet needs care!

My Morkie Baxter, was making a gagging noise at night and early morning. The visit to this office was very refreshing. Baxter gets so stressed out just leaving the house. The staff was so sweet and patient with him. X-rays revealed his trachea was collapsing, plus we found out he has a heart murmur. The visit, x-rays and medicine was very affordable. I'll be taking all 3 of my furr babies there from now on.

I would avoid working with Dr. Kimberly Couch. You can explain the history of your dog's health, but she doesn't really want to hear about what has worked for your dog in the past if it doesn’t align with what she’d rather do (which was something that had never worked for my dogs). The icing on the cake was the third visit; I brought my dog in for a follow-up appointment, and to get their shots. They were out of what they needed for the shots (not a problem) so I had to come back. When I returned, they charged me for yet another visit just to give them the shot they had run out of. I really like the rest of the staff, they were friendly and kind, but ultimately, my dog’s care went to Dr. Couch, and her dismissive treatment was not what I’m looking for in a vet.

The entire staff was super gracious and personable. Upon walking in we were greeted and taken into a room immediately. While I didn't spend much time in the waiting room, it was super cozy and relaxing (not like your typical doctor/vet office). Our vet and her assistant were super kind and patient with my cat. They even offered him some treats because he was scared. They made him and I feel very comfortable and taken care of. They were both very uplifting and willing to answer any questions I had. They had an amazing procedure when it came to bringing patients in and exiting after the appointment. Would 100% recommend to anyone with pets! Best vet in Asheville right here.

The best vet visit I've had in a long time. I have a few special needs pets so I had an established, close relationship with my previous vet. When we moved here from out of state, I was nervous we wouldn't be able to find that again.I felt immediately comfortable and that the staff actually cared. Everyone was super friendly as well. I look forward to making this our go to vet and bringing in our other pets. Thank you for everything!

Every single person I've ever interacted with at WAFV has been helpful, patient, kind and great with my nervous dog. They always follow up the next day and are aces at communication. I came from a vet that didn't even seem to like dogs, and this place is like a breath of fresh air after that. The vets have all been incredible smart and capable and do everything they can to put my guy at ease. Cannot say enough great things about them.

Awesome experience so far with West Asheville Family Vet. We just got a new puppy less than two weeks ago and we've visited twice already. They are thorough, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They have called me a few times to check in on our pup and make sure she's doing alright, which feels so personal and kind. They're great!

I had a fantastic experience here today. We were sent here by our regular vet who couldn’t get us in for a non emergent sick visit. They got us in here within 2 hours. Randi was kind and friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Dr Hubbard was personable and didn’t rush us at all. She took the time to discuss my cat and all the possibilities of what could be wrong. She was thorough and didn’t try to push any additional testing or images that were not necessary.

This vet is absolutely fantastic. I started coming here originally because they were one of the only vets who saw small rodents and my rat Ghost was on his last days. Not only was the vet able to successfully treat his infection, but I ended up having months more with him when small pets are notoriously hard to revive. I loved them so much I switched vets to bring my puppy Clover now too. They are clean and thorough, but I think what really makes them stand out is their entire Staff!! Amazingly compassionate and positive people all around!

I highly recommend West Asheville Family Vet! Dr. Cindy was very thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable. We did not have to wait to be seen for our appointment, and we weren’t rushed out the door as we’ve experienced at other clinics. Dr. Cindy discussed multiple treatment options and their respective pros and cons. The entire team made our pup feel welcomed and secure. I would highly recommend this vet clinic!

As a new patient, Dora was very easy to schedule and get in quickly to see Dr. Couch and be treated for a chronic sinus issue. When a blood draw prove difficult, we were given meds to help her relax and return the following day. The blood draw was successful and lab results were received as promised the following day. It’s great that all staff had a lot of experience with their own pets. Their caring is evident and appreciated.

We are in the process of transplanting from West Michigan to Asheville, and during our transition we discovered through an emergency visit for something unrelated that our little doggy friend has a small splenic mass that needs to be followed/treated. Initially, we were concerned because here we are in a new city/state where we don’t know anyone yet… and our precious pup needs more than just regular veterinary care. We stopped in the office at WAFV and were warmly greeted by compassionate staff. They listened to our needs and got us scheduled for an exam the very next day.Our visit was excellent. Every person we encountered was phenomenal with us as humans and especially our doggy. Dr. K was thorough, knowledgeable, and honest in her assessment of Luna’s health. She provided clear and concise options for moving forward with treatment. We feel so much more at ease with navigating this health challenge under the care of WAFV. We are grateful to have found them and to call them our new veterinary home. Thank you!!!
