Great options for pets that have special dietary restrictions or needs. Has an in-house clinic as well. Has a vast warehouse full of food, necessities, and one of the best selections of toys! The staff was also super friendly and helpful.

I've had good experiences shopping here. I love being able to order online and quickly picking it up on the way home. They always seem to be well stocked. Staff is friendly and they always give my some pets, attention, and treats- which he enjoys.

I was told by a young lady standing in front of a 10 gal tank with 40 guppies in it,that she couldnt sell me 2 pair because my 10 gal tank wasent big enough. I strongly recommend that you avoid buying fish supplies there.

This is a review for grooming. I am very terribly upset. Typically I take my Goldendoodle to the Arden location and plan to only go to that location from now on. Taylor did the grooming. All was fine until I came to pick my dog up. I was told that they changed my profile stating my dog was a Bernadoodle instead of a Goldendoodle because of his size. My dog is 82 pounds and standard Goldendoodles are 50 to 90 pounds…. They changed my dogs weight in the profile to 120 pounds and would add 40 dollars extra in the future for grooming along with the fact he kept sitting down and moving his face while grooming (yeah because he’s a dog smh)... She said today I would pay what I typically pay…. I typically have always paid 83 bucks. I go to the register and they didn’t understand what was put on my invoice so they called over to her… I was now being charged 103 for the grooming. I stated she said I would pay what i normally paid and that was 83 but now it’s 103. It was confusing and very odd. If I’m told I’m going to pay what I typically pay then that is the expectation when I get to the register. When I go back in to get my dog I tried to explain that when I booked the appointment it said 83.00 but she said goldendoodles have gone up in price and online was wrong. It all just came off very scammy and trying to suck more money out of me. Also I get home and notice my dogs ears are 2 total different lengths and it doesn’t even seem like they bathed him because one could typically tell when their dog was given a bath and smell nice and fresh! I don’t recommend the Asheville Petsmart just go to Arden

We have a Berne doodle tri color puppy. Our first experience with grooming was fair. We asked for fluffy paws and keeping the brown color in place. Our second experience was not good! We had a noon grooming appointment and arrived promptly. Within an hour of dropping our puppy off for grooming we received a call from Taylor. She was angry and distraught saying our puppy was too hard to manage “nipping” too much knowing he is a puppy and his second grooming. I was a little concerned. I asked that she does the best she can do. Basically Taylor shaved Brooks down to nothing! We never received the 30 minute call ahead. Instead, Taylor called me as she finished and said that Brooks would be in the back by himself as she was leaving and we would need to ask an associate to retrieve Brooks from a cage in the back. So we drove to the store immediately, we live in Weaverville so like a 20 minute drive. Spoke to the cashier like Taylor told us to and she informed us they were short handed. We made our way back to the grooming area to wait and saw Taylor was still there. She did not acknowledge us and proceeded to walk out right by us. COMPLETELY NOT ACCEPTABLE !! This is your whole company CARING FOR ANIMALS!!! And you left my baby in the back room alone! Taylor had no compassion for any of our needs or care for our puppy! I want an immediate response and how this will be addressed within your team in Asheville.

Went into buy fish that we wanted would not sale it to us. Said that we needed a bigger tank and was not experienced. The Manger tried to sale us a dead alge eat. And the Manger told us we was not experienced in fish also. And also we went another pet store and got what we wanted that Petsmart said that we weren't experienced in. What does it matter to them if we weren't experiences it our money that we spending not their. And what fish that we did get died on the way home from Petsmart.

Me and my family just got a beautiful Golden doodle puppy. And my husband and myself have been parents to 3 Labrador Retrievers, this is the first place I go to get supplies for our fur babies! Great selection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Terrible experience. Liz in the fish dept tried to tell me one of their emaciated, sickly angelfish (1 of 3) died bc I don't buffer my water. I keep my water super clean @ <10 nitrates and then she tried to say it died bc I had them in a quarantine size tank but they were dime size.... Anywhere you research says not to chase ph. So, if you don't buffer your water, be prepared for an argument. I just wanted to rescue their low quality fish from being starved and was accused of being a bad fish keeper. I left and purchased a replacement at Airport Rd. Tested their water parameters in the bag when I got home and the ph was lower than mine.

The closing staff especially the female at the front register as soon as we walked in first thing out of her mouth was… We close in 15 minutes, it wasn’t good evening welcome to Petsmart or anything like that, very rude and self centered. And the manager on Dusty kept repeating the closing announcements back to back twice each time after we had been told three times when it was closing. Also I called the store and spoke to the male manager on duty and asked if he had blue buffalo soft chew filets and he said no we don’t. I drive there Anyways to find they had every flavor and some. I showed the male associate on my way out and he was to busy texting didn’t even seem to care

Such a great PetSmart! My daughter was interested in a dwarf hamster so we called and talked to the person who works with the small animals (Skylar). She was so helpful. Letting us know that they were out of stock because the newest batch was being observed for good health. She recommended us calling at the end of the week to see how they were doing. I called and they told us inventory and the safety precautions the store was following. We went last night and everyone was wearing a mask and respectful of 6 feet apart. Karissa was the person who helped us pick out a hamster. She talked to my daughter about foods, bedding, and hand feeding after the hamster got settled in. She gave us some bedding the hamster was nesting in so it smelled familiar. Such a great experience. For a big store that must see lots of customers, it was a really nice experience. And the hamster is so sweet, doesn't seem stressed, and settling in well. *We got the food bowls, bedding, and watermelon/strawberry chew toys in the photo from PetSmart - the rest was ordered online

PetSmart is fine, but the mountain pet Rescue was there and I was ready for a kitten. I had read the adoption process fine print before I came and had the cat carrier in the car. Very disappointed when I was told they preferred I adopt two kittens. I tried to explain that I can give one cat a most excellent home, with pet insurance and good healthcare. A loving, caring home. They would not let me adopt one kitten. No other adoption rescue has this kind of policy. It wasn't even stated in the adoption paperwork. The volunteers were relentless on the reasons to take two. I left disappointed and without a kitten. If they had stated it in the mountain Pet Rescue paperwork, I wouldn't have wasted my time with them. I have found a kitten elsewhere since then.

We had an outstanding experience once again. My old man, OD went in to get a bath. He would not go through the front door. By the end of it he walked out like a new man with his tail just a wagging! Thank you for a great service! We appreciate it. OD is bragging to his friends and family that he went to the spa!!! Thanks!! You need to ask for Courtney she is the best!!!

Staff was unfriendly, would not help me look for a pet seat. I was heading to Florida and I needed my pet to be comfortable, I explained all that to this man, and all he said if it dnt work bring it back. I am 60 yr old and disabled and they did not offer any kind of help so what ever. There prices were out of the world. They need a staff over haul. I won't be going back.

After a year of positive experiences with their grooming department, they called THE DAY OF to cancel an appointment I had made several weeks in advance (and took the day off work). They were unable to accommodate me sooner than an entire extra month of waiting. I will be trying out the Arden store from now on and possibly looking into private groomers. Unacceptable.

I’d never been here before but wanted to get a bath for our dog before leaving on vacation. I checked in and waited finally hearing a loud tapping on the window behind me, the bather pointed to me. I went in and, with a snotty attitude, she informs me she’d paged me. I responded I didn’t hear her to which she said, “Well, the systems working” instead of something like “Oh it’s okay, let’s get you checked in!” (BTW, when I went back out to wait the lady sitting by me said she didn’t hear anything either!) She went to take off our dogs flea collar, the expensive kind, and I said, “We don’t take that off,” to which she responded, “She can’t have anything on when we take her back.” Instead of letting me take it off, while I’m still speaking, she flips it off and I don’t know where it is now...I went back to check and they didn’t have it. When I was waiting outside the grooming room is when I took these pictures, this is under shelves that are NOT connected to the groomers so where the hair comes from one can only guess?! When I realized it would be awhile I left to get lunch noticing a puddle of urine by the front door, when I come back later, it was still there? Yes, this is an old store but old doesn’t have to mean filthy. Also I always overtip everyone, for the first time I didn’t tip the bather due to her attitude. Also, I don’t know if this is common, but the grooming area looked dirty as well...dog hair everywhere, not just the dogs being groomed at the time. As a final note, my groomer charges the same amount for a full groom as this store charges for a bath...I guess this is what you get when you’re in a rush!! I’ll never go there again for anything!!

Absolutely HORRIBLE fishkeeping situation here. Many tanks had numerous dead fish and even a layer of scum on the top. The photo of the gouramis, all were dead. Many of the dead fish in the tanks had clearly been there for sometime and they were decompsing. Walk away.
