Chick in fish department was all chatty with the guys with the bird. I stood at the salt tanks for a good 35 min and never was offered any help period. I asked her 2 questions and got 1 word answers. And your salt fish have ich something terrible. Sad. And, your bird section is lacking major.

It was a very lovely store. I'm giving it 4 stars because no one could tell me the date the wax worms were shipped in. All the other Petcos' in Asheville write the dates they get them on the containers.

Beautiful store and friendly people! They do cat grooming here. They even have one day a month just for cats in grooming. No dogs all day!

Amazing pet store in North Asheville! Great selection of all your pet needs. The store is very clean. Fur ever friends has cats for adoption in the front, always a good stop for a cute surprise. Prices seem reasonable compared to other pet supplies stores. The staff has always been helpful and nice as well! There is also a pet salob on site. They have earned a loyal customer and cat daddy!

Staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about my chinchilla. Large variety of food and treats for my fury fella. Even though it's almost an hours drive for me, I'll definitely be back

I can not express how much LOVE I have for everybody that works at this store. Not only are all the retail staff so helpful, welcoming, and friendly-but their specialty staff are some of the best we've come by!My boyfriend David and I took our baby Yoshi there for dog training earlier this year (pre-covid) and let me just say that Brittany was awesome! We did the Adult 2 class with him (he was 11 months old when we started, turned one in the middle of the course) and she was so knowledgeable, patient, and just so passionate about what she does. She also is a wonderful and caring human being and we can not recommend her enough! Every time we're in the store and we see her she comes up and greets Yoshi, even though we aren't currently enrolled in any classes, and checks up on his progress and his training. Wonderful, again can not recommend her enough!We also take him there for grooming with Hailey in their grooming department. She's been grooming him since we first started taking him to the groomers (around 6 months old I want to say) and let me just say WOW. Not only is she one of the nicest people I've ever interacted with in a grooming setting but she is so *wonderful* with Yoshi. He loves her so so much, and get so excited to the point where he's learned her name and her voice. We mention going to see Hailey and he will sit by the door and if he hears her voice in the store he wiggles on over to the grooming desk to try and say hi. She also does a fantastic job at his grooming, we recently ran into the predicament where Yoshi doesn't mind being brushed, but the hair around his ears is the exception to that. With how knotted it became and how uncomfortable it was for him and us to get the 50 pound toddler to sit still while we detangled his ears-we just had to start cutting them out when we could. Now with him being an Australian Shepard and double coated, we knew going super short or shaving is NOT an option, but after speaking with the receptionist who put a note on his file she assured us they could figure something out. Sure enough David goes to pick the baby up and out he comes with an ear length that was PERFECT. It was long enough to still have hair on and around the ears and not damage the coat, but shortened and thinned enough that we won't have to have him sit through the detangling on that hair as often!Overall, the take away is that everybody there is amazing. Brittany is one of the best dog trainers we've ever encountered and I can't recommend Hailey for your fluffy companions grooming enough!! Good prices and very great selection. The reptiles are from quality breeders (two bearded dragons from them) and the staff if very helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell they love animals just as much as we do, because the place is always clean and the people are happy to be there. Go check them out for your crickets and feeders as well. They have good stock on sizes and types.

This Petco has a helpful and friendly staff. They are generally available to answer any questions about products or pets. The store is clean and has a logical floor plan. It's not a mega-store, and so does not have the same selection as one. But I've never NOT found what I need. I appreciate their refill your own cat litter station. It's practical, economical, and saves plastic tubs from going straight to the landfill or recycling station.

Your employees are friendly and helpful and obvious pet lovers. The store appears to be very clean and I appreciate the precautions you take to make sure your customers are safe. You have a wide variety of food stuff and treats and toys. I always find what I am looking for. I also appreciate that you help find forever homes for rescue kitties. One suggestion. I regularly donate at check out and I am a Petco Pals rewards member. It would be nice to receive a total at year end for tax purposes.

Helpful, knowledgeable and informative employees. Always greeted with a smile. Grooming staff (Laura & Kim) are so amazing and kind. My dog has a lot of anxiety and she always comes out there with her head and tail high, happy as can be. They truly care about animals here. They also helped me pick out the correct shampoo and grooming tools to use on her at home and showed me how to trim her nails. Super amazing folks at this store!

This is the freshest and most immaculate pet store I've been in. It smelled amazing, I could see my reflection in the floors! Everything was organized so well, I didn't want to touch anything. I thought I was in a museum.The prices are pretty high but I guess it's like the Target (vs Walmart) version of a pet store so if you keep that in mind, it's fair. It's hard to find employees but when you do, they're so nice and helpful. My mind is still blown as to why it didn't smell like animals at all. Just a pristine environment!

Bravo PetCo for hiring a gem. The young person who checked me out today was fantastic. Exactly the kind of person I want to encounter in a retail setting. Nice, friendly, great attitude, efficient. And, I really appreciated the discount for ordering online and picking up in-store.

SUPER friendly and knowledgeable staff. Took the time to answer all my questions (trust me, I had plenty) and helped me get deals and discounts. Went over the awesome return policy with me. Came back the next day to return two items (bought 3 collars, picked the one my dog seemed to like the best), bought a few more things, and inquired about flea and tick medication. What I needed in store was $90+ dollars, but the cashier informed me that she could match their online price which was around $65. I appreciated the fact that she went out of her way to save me money when I wouldn't have known any different. I will definitely come back her for the staff, the awesome return policy, and the price matching they offer (to other stores and to their own website).

This review is really only for the grooming section of the store. I made my dogs appointment weeks in advance. The only thing that I did wrong on my part was that I was a few minutes late. I did, however, call to let them know that I was running just a little late but I was coming. The lady had said it was fine on the phone. When I get there she said she can’t take my dog. I was really taken back because I had just been on the phone with the same lady who said it was fine that I was going to be a little late. Then she’s telling one of her coworkers that I had called and said I was going to be a no-show. That was not how the conversation went at all. Anyway, don’t waste your time with this place. I wish I would have gotten the girls name so I could list her here, but I didn’t get her name. The manager was apologetic, but it doesn’t change the fact that they wasted my time. Save yourself the trip and use your money elsewhere.

The place usually has nice employees and good service. It does not have much variety in the fish section. The employee that worked at the aquariums was rude to me and told me that my goldfish would die and "good luck". The employee makes me never want to go here again because of how rude and demeaning she was.

Good place for pet supplies. Pricey but convenient. Take pet advice from staff with a grain of salt. Lost a couple fish cause the girl pretended to know and didn't. Her advice was directly opposite to the health of the fish.

Can someone that works at Petco possibly greet you and ask if you need help? I went in to buy cat food but everyone is busy stocking the store and minding their own business and not concerned if you need help or not. I just left and went to Ingles across the street to get cat food. There again, maybe the policy does not include helping custmers. Sorry to have imposed.

My favorite pet store I used to think places like like we're too expensive to shop from regularly but honestly with all my pets needs it actually bis cheaper and so convenient, I actually save, get free everything, make out better then anywhere else and these people get to know you and your pets so it really feels like your welcome! My dog loves it he looks forward to going there. I do all the plans petco offers, pet insurance, vetco, and also the normal rewards program and it's so worth it.

Kudos to them for hosting Furrever Friends, a wonderful local fostering/adoption org. We got our 3 kittehnz through them and the people couldn't've been nicer! Highly recommend in that vein.They *could* have been more responsible however! Several employees with masks below their noses, and one who reached under her mask to wipe her nose, pulled the mask back to touch all on the inside, then didn't wash or sanitize her hands before touching papers being handed to a customer! Need better mask etiquette training! Let's kick this thing's butt together by not being irresponsible!

We went in looking for Geckos and supplies for them. The supplies were slim pickings as they were out of stock on a lot of things. I understand shopping with covid has been difficult on all stores. Also I only saw 3 employees. 1 behind the counter, 1 stocking dog supplies near front and 1 helping with the rodents/reptiles/fish area.

Very nice staff it's a nice store was disappointed they had sale stickers up and when I asked about the product they said the sale was over and would not give me the sale price showing. And on top of that they are selling items cheaper online and you have to show each item to get the cheaper price. It's a big hassle when buying a lot. They do have a (value card) but it also does not give you the online price. Look at the website before you buy!!!

I love it when you go up to the cashier and they can automatically price match things. Amazing ! Saved me a bunch of money! Petco is the place to go for all things in stock in your community. I personally like to visit my LFS, but this store has some essentials that the locals just can't carry.

Always can fnd some good information from Jett or one of the other assistants there. My pup was very sick when she first came to us and I lived in that store. Most recently, I'd sent my husband in to purchase some Purina Pro Plan Dog food as Claire is now officially through her first year. Later in the week, we decided that as she is still not the best eater in the world, it would not hurt to keep her on the higher caloric food for a time. They exchanged it for the same formula puppy food as I'd been buying with no problem. Always helpful and that's why I keep going back.

We take our pup here once a month to get her a "spa treatment" and her nails trimmed, and they treat her wonderfully. Very happy with the results everytime, she smells great!

Great selection, good nail trimming Service and even a shot clinic offered on some Saturdays. Lost one star due to the shot clinic only on weekends. Difficult to attend for those who must work on Saturdays. If they could switch it up once in a while it would be helpful.

I will most definitely shop at the North Asheville Petco again!! The only reasons I put 8 for my satisfaction is because there wasn't much of a variety of sizes in the cat food bowls and I really needed a specific size that I didn't find.. Other then that the Store seems great!!!!
