The self serve bath is really nice being its own room. I use to work at a PS in another state, and the bathing site was out in the open, so I liked the privacy. I wish the employees here were a little kinder. My dog was SUPER hyper. We live out in the country so she doesn’t get to visit stores often. She’s very sweet, was the shelter favorite when we adopted her last year, she’s just VERY excited to see people, everyone’s a friend. She struggles with pulling the lead, she’s rarely on one. I was hoping to start making a PS trip/bath every week to help her with that, but I will not be returning to this store. When I walked in no one acknowledged me, I had to hunt down an employee, and walked past two other employees talking and ignoring me that I thought they were customers. The cashier saw I was struggling with my dog and had me carry the shampoo basket to the shower, while they walked right past the showers themselves to get towels from Grooming. I was met with a lot of rude looks and condescending tones. I was also the only customer in the store during this. After giving my dog her bath, other customers acknowledged me and were nicer than the employees. When I worked for PS, I would have never treated anyone that way.Update: I emailed the email in their response to this review and they did not respond back at all. I guess they really don’t care. I’ll definitely be doing the dog wash at Tractor Supply instead from now on.

UPDATE: the birds they currently have are a green cheek conure and a bunch of budgies (parakeets)Wow! One of the best put together pet stores I've ever seen, and all the animals looked so content! I mainly shop for my conure (parrot) and the prices for bird food are really good - and I was really happy with the selection of other bird things too! I was also impressed that they have the self serve dog washing rooms. AND THEY HAVE KITTENS! 🐈😍

I love this place. All of their employees are as nice as they can be. They make you feel like family. I've been buying my snake's frozen rats here for years and will never go anywhere else.

No longer shop there. They don't answer the phone. It goes to vm and always says it's full. Some of us don't want to drive across town to learn they're out of the pet food we want.

Worst pet supply store I've ever been to. I went to use their self service dog wash because the Patton one was closed for employee appreciation day, and I'd rather drive all the way to hendersonville than go here. The 3 girls at the registers couldn't smile to save their jobs and they definitely had the attitude to match. It's ridiculous that you have to leave a message for a call back to ask even a simple question. I called 5 times in the span of a few hours just to ask ONE question and it never rings.The clip in the tub that's suppose to keep my dog secured in the tub was worthless and had no clasp to it, he just shook it off 10 times over. The drying hose was just as worthless. It's so worn out that it just flops all over the place I can't actually dry my dog. Between trying to ensure he didn't try to jump out with one hand and trying to use the dryer with the other it was such an awful experience.

Pet spa dog self wash station review: shampoo and conditioner provided was nice. Facility (tub/wash area) was terribly dirty, full of old dog hair (tons and tons) and not clean. Unfortunately, I won't be back, I suggest trying another self dog wash in the area.

Never answer the phone I've tried for 3 days and get sent voice mail and it's full I would like to buy a bird but I'm not driving hour to find they have none .

Since we were in the area from out of town, I tried to call ahead of time to verify the self-serve dog baths were open, but each time the call would disconnect while on hold for an associate. Decided to take the chance and thankfully the baths were open and didn't have to wait long for one to be available. The choice to have carpeting in a pet store was kinda off-putting. Just average. Had better experiences at other locations.

I stopped by today to browse the fish section. The tanks and fish were in shockingly bad condition. The employee was very nice and said the store is under new management and they are trying to correct the problem but what I saw was heartbreaking. I saw some fish, particularly Oscars, that were so so so skinny and emaciated. One tank had a very bad ick outbreak and their Jack Dempseys were deformed with almost no tail. I hope the store addresses this and the filthy tanks quickly. I would definitely quarantine any fish purchased here and be wary of possibly buying sick fish. The employee said the breeder they were purchasing from was to blame but it was clear that the tanks have also been neglected for a long time. If the store is truly under new management, I don't see why the tanks haven't been cleaned and the fish need emergency care such as repashi or sinking pellets. They are clearly starving. So new management is continuing to neglect the fish??

This is the best pet shop in Asheville because of several reasons like the health and care of the animals especially birds, the cage is very clean and not over crowded and the whole store is well stocked and plenty of help from friendly employees but the star of the store is the female manager who really cares for the pets and has a great attitude and she said that she always makes sure the buyer is going to give proper care of the animals first and profit after that and that is true integrity and professional greatness on her part and I appreciate it very much, I just bought a beautiful parakeet to go with the one I have and after talking to her she said she could tell that I love my birds and take pride in giving them the best life possible, I have a large self made play area and lots of toys treats and several food and water dishes, and clean paper every other day and wash water bowls out daily with hot water and no soap to ensure that it is only fresh water and not soap flavored water, plastic cups will absorb soap and should be avoided for the water, anyway back to the store,I am very impressed with the manger and her great aditude and most places lock the door ten minutes before closing but I was just getting there 4 minutes before closing time and she was not rushing me and I was able to take my time and pick a good parakeet and her aditude must be rubbing off because the other employees didn't seem to mind me making a purchase after closing time, well I love it and won't go to any other pet shop in town, everything is well stocked and plenty of employees ready to help out, plus the most important part is the health and wellness of the animals and they are awesome! And great selection and service, it's a win win 100 percent awesome

Everything in this store is more than it should be. The 2 girls working the floor never said one word to me as I walked all through the store and past them several times. I can definitely see why there was no one in there. Management… teach your employees customer service

The pet wash is clean, easy, and a very good value. I chose the basic (economy) service since I used my own favorite pet shampoo but products are available for a fee. Towel and blower are provided.

I bought a voucher for the self service dog wash. The whole front of store was just rude. I had to go back to the groomer and she was very polite and helped me out as telling me to go to the front register. I did that and the lazy lady at the register was not helpful even when I told her it was my first visit. Finally made it to the dog wash area and the lazy lady at the register said she would bring us towels....she never did and when I asked her what happened to the towels she just laughed and said it slipped her mind. Just a rude experience. As I do have 5 more vouchers from living social I will go back to the self service dog wash and I suggest you bring your own shampoo, towels and doggie brush.....I'll be doing that in the future along with conditioner.

Store was clean and had a lot of stock. A lot of animals for sale which always makes me feel uncomfortable but the staff was interacting with them often. Hopefully they are from good breeders and will go to good homes.
