When I adopted my dog, she had some of the longest nails I've ever seen on a dog, but she was terrified to let anyone touch them, let alone trim them! My partner and I have tried to do them ourselves, vets have tried... and consistently, we'd get a couple of nails done but nothing close to all of them, and the process was stressful and unpleasant for my pup.We brought her in for a nail trim appointment here and were scheduled with Paige, fully expecting the same thing to happen and that my dog would need multiple sessions before she'd let them touch her nails, but amazingly Paige was able to trim all of her nails on the first try! On top of that, my dog seemed to love Paige. We have scheduled monthly appointments here and are so excited to finally be able to help our poor dog get her nails down to a comfortable length. Highly recommend!

I was so nervous to bring my anxious rescue dog to the groomers for the first time, and we couldn't have had a better experience! Paige was patient, kind, and skilled in how she handled Penny. I am so grateful a groomer with this level of care exists in my area. It's a bit of a drive for us but 100% worth it. Penny left with an adorable bandana, fantastic fresh scent, and the softest coat I've ever felt. I didn't even know she could be puppy-soft like this! Simply magic. Thank you to Paige and the entire team at Pawsitivity Pet Spa.

I have really tried to like and support this business. When I first started going, I would get a phone call while driving to my appointment that they are canceling my appointment. This is while I am driving to work (25 minute drive) and bringing my dog on the way. This has happened to me twice.Since going to this groomer, my dog has developed (2) Cysts which will require surgery to remove, surgery that isn't cheap. These cysts are caused by poor grooming product and poor grooming (per vet advice). In the past six months, we have had two price increases. This last time where I paid over $300, my dog came back smelly, where my coworkers even commented on how much I paid for him to be smelly still.I learned they do not clean the hair out of his ears and I need pay a Vet to clean the hair out of his ears (this was stated by the groomer to me). (more money). Also, don't be suprised when they give you add on charges at the time of paying you weren't expecting to pay. No call before to warn you.My final and last straw on why I am not going to keep my mouth shut any longer and write this review. I genuinely want to support small businesses but now, my dog's health is not good. After the last visit with the groomer, my dog developed bloody diarrhea and his health is not good. My dog has been seriously ill with bloody stool for over three days now. I took him to the vet the day after my last grooming appointment, they recommended I do not return to this groomer. After what they saw with his cut, his ears, how he still smelled, had cysts and how sick he is. My vet wanted to know so they do not take their dog here.Going to this groomer is not worth the money and not worth your dog becoming seriously ill.Thank you for the reply, however, he wasn't the vet who saw Ryder and see his ears and cysts. Thanks for trying to clear this review but wrong vet. There was NO mention of "Allergy" at the vet clinic. Feel free to ask him if he was the one who was actually in the office speaking to me. (I am sure he was being nice and politically correct in this situation to prevent from being in the middle of this because he is a good guy and it is a GREAT business).I am not one to make false accusations for any business because I truly believe in small businesses but it was clearly said to me "Ryder has dreadlocks in his ears, I can't believe at that price they didn't help you with his ears". Not once did the groomer ever tell me she doesn't remove hair from the ears and I had been going for a year. Has Ryder come in matted, yes but even when he wasn't matted, I was still charged extra. The fact is, my dog came back from your grooming salon very ill, bloody diarrhea for 4 days, lost weight, smelled even after a hair cut of a half inch with NO mats, and a bath, and it was over $300 plus vet bills due to him getting sick at your place.

As a veterinarian and dog mom, it was very important for me to find a groomer who is patient and tends to my pups special needs. I have been impressed by Pawsitivity every time. Heidi is an exceptionally warm, thorough and talented groomer. She took wonderful care of my senior dog who passed away last year, and now grooms my new puppy. I have nothing but positive things to say about Heidi and Pawsitivity. They are truly a dog spa for the pet parent who wants that extra special touch and individualized care. I wouldn’t want to take my dogs anywhere else. It can be difficult to find a groomer you trust implicitly, and I am so grateful to have found that.

Won-der-ful! Clean facility, professional attitude, truly care about making grooming as stress free as possible for the dogs. August cleaned our pup up better than she’s ever been. We got some fun color and it turned out just how we wanted it!

**recent update** with the puppy flu that’s going around I had been avoiding the groomers for months. Now I wish I hadn’t, because the way Pawsitivity is handling the situation is above and beyond. I felt extremely safe dropping off my little one with them knowing they are taking so many extra precautions to keep your fur baby safe (disinfecting, screening for symptoms, keeping dogs separate, and more!) Not only is my puppy nowgroomed and glowing (this time done beautifully by August I believe?) , but I feel safe knowing the care they provide! So if you were anything like me and are accidentally letting your dog turn into a tumbleweed due to fear, I highly recommend Pawsitivity. Your puppy will thank you!!Reading some other reviews I also feel the need to mention that yes the prices are a little on the “higher” end but from my experience this is because this spa truly cares about your dogs comfort level and their treatment of their staff! I will happily pay a little extra knowing Clover is not being forced through a traumatizing experience and that their their talented groomers are paid a living wage. I know my dog very well she is a drama queen and her demeanor after every visit shows me the difference in how their staff approaches grooming with true care!——————I was so scared to take my puppy to the groomers for the first time after hearing horror stories about other businesses. Pawsitivity put me at ease the moment I stepped in the door. Everyone was so kind and genuine and kristyn did a phenomenal job with my tiny girl. When I came to pick her up she was playing with her in the waiting room and I could tell from her demeanor she had been loved on. Since it was her first time, she only received a bath etc. and it still felt like I was picking up an entirely new puppy! We will definitely be coming back continuously as she grows. Thank you!!

Clean welcoming environment. Groomer understood exactly what I wanted. Charlie was calm and happy when I picked him up. He may not have loved the actual bath, but I could tell he had been handled with care and attention. I recommend!

Update: still pricey, but worth every cent. This visit was even better than our first one. We were in the area again, so I made another spa appointment for some pampering for my service dog. They still remembered him after 4 months and were just as accommodating as before. The new location is really nice and much easier to find and park. He was very happy and relaxed when I picked him up, so I know they took great care of him. With his history before me and allergies, it's difficult to find groomers who respect and care for him as well as I try to.Pricey, but my baby got the pampering he needed while I visited the salt cave and got a massage. His allergies and skin are horrible right now, so I went with skin care upgrades to the standard bath, along with a fun tie. They were very understanding and helpful. He hates baths, has some separation anxiety and isn't always good with other dogs. When I picked him up, he was chilling rather than anxiously waiting. He was very happy and I could tell by his demeanor that he was well taken care of. I will happily take him back next time we visit Asheville.

Wow!! My 6 rescues have HIGH anxiety when it comes to grooming, which has been an issue in keeping up properly with frequent care. I am so happy to have found a place where there is care and knowledge, and peace of mind that my furbabies are safe and loved on while I'm not there. Thank you for creating an environment where care and trust are the most important!!

I always have the best experience when I bring my Jelly Bean to get groomed here. She’s a very anxious little pup and the owner (Olivia) always makes sure she’s very comfortable and gets the best care. I wouldn’t trust taking her to anyone else! The staff is also always the friendliest and very accommodating. Thanks so much to this business!

I have been going to Pawsitivity for many years and have a 5-star experience every single time! Everyone on staff is so kind and caring and loves my dogs like I do. The owner, Olivia, is outstanding and I feel so good taking my babies there. They are treated with the utmost love and care and always look and smell amazing when finished with grooming. I whole heartedly recommend them!!

Our adopted boy, Link, is shy and still nervous around new people. August immediately gained his trust and did a fabulous job on his nails. We will be returning for all of our pup's grooming needs.

Took my Shih Tzu and little mix there today and they did a great job. I love that they are working on the pups where you can see them - it made me feel more comfortable trying out a new place. The shop is clean and the girls there are so sweet and friendly. Here they are in their new sweaters - fall didn't last long enough this year.

The professionalism here with these groomers are top shelf. Their love for their clients shows. My Gracie is our spoiled brat and I could tell that they spoiled her just as much as we do. Gracie was happy and safe while here. And to me this is priceless. I mean just look at her. Knowing you get what you pay for and to know my dog was safe the entire time she was there again priceless. Thank you ladies for taking care of our Gracie

They take great care of our dogs particularly our Wheaton Terrier. She requires a special grooming and cut and this is the first place we've found in this area that knows how. Not cheap but very good!

I am convinced Heidi is the best groomer in Western North Carolina. Heidi cares so much about animals and does her very best to make sure they are comfortable and happy. There are very few people I trust with my dogs but Heidi is absolutely one of them.

My puppy is extremely squirmy and does not like getting her nails trimmed. I tried on my own, and then finally turned to the professionals! I'm glad I did. They took my pup back right on time, and were quick and very efficient. They did a great job, and we'll definitely be back when it's time for another nail trim!

The owner of his business cares about animals more than a check! My puppy recently rescued from a barn had very matted hair. When I called they didn't have any openings. She agreed to take on the task to get him comfortable. They took us the next hour and now my fur baby is more happy than ever. I will be making this my pet groomer for good. Thank you all so much especially for Leo being happy.

Took my dog in for a nail trim and it was a great experience. She’s highly anxious and fiercely guards her paws, so I was apprehensive, but they made her feel so comfortable and cared for and it went great! Easy and quick and my happy pup going in was still happy coming out!

Everyone here LOVES DOGS, and every dog loves the treatment and care provided by the folks at Pawsitivity. Kristyn, especially, is a top tier groomer and loves your dog more than you do.

Our first time visiting and we couldn’t be happier. My beautiful Mastiff, Ramona, was welcomed and cared for like an old friend. We are customers for life!

Was not thoroughly impressed. Took my dog there for a nail trim and they did three of the four paws and said she was growling. She gets anxious whenever her nails are trimmed, but she has never growled at anybody. I've always taken her to either my vet or a groomer for a nail trim. and they charge $29+ tip, that's outrageous my vet charges 15 and I've never been to a groomer that charged more than 17 and that was in Chicago which is way more expensive than Asheville for everything.

Olivia, Sid and staff at Pawsitiviry do a stellar job of taking care of our “grand-dogger”, Josie, who has grooming anxiety. They treat all their clients with tender love, concern and gentleness. The remarks being made on the “Love & Purrs” website & social media are false and harassing. Totally unfounded.

Highly recommend Pawsitivity Pet Spa (especially August!). I have a Great Dane, Ronan, who has separation anxiety (typical for Velcro dogs) but is worsened when he is in new places without his owners. He has always loved his groomers and daycare, excited to go and not overtly anxious once he knows them. When I dropped him off for his first appt. he was clearly anxious. August was amazing with him, assured me they’d go slow, let him get to know August before starting the essentials bath and asked about ability to get CBD anxiety relief products if necessary. I could tell when I came to get him that he felt safe and comfortable with August and rest of the Pawsitivity staff there! He got the Essentials package and smells/looks amazing! The building is clean and you can tell the other doggies there were relaxed and comfortable. So happy to have found a competent and trustworthy groomer in the area. Id like to note, yes the prices are not cheap but you are absolutely paying for what you get: 1 on 1 care, staff who genuinely care and develop a relationship with your pet, competent and wonderful staff, and not overcrowded with dogs waiting in kennels… In fact August took a few minutes to sit in the front area with Ronan before even starting the grooming process to help him calm and get comfortable with them. I will 100% pay their prices because it is worth it!

They did such a great job with my girl, Freyja. They were sweet and they said Freyja was nothing but hugs and kisses through the entire process, even the nail trim. I also love that they are thorough with communication. I definitely will bring her back next time she needs a de-shed.
