Our beloved lucy died less a month ago. She had perfect blood test results.Roy mc corkle said "as young a puppy" and Roy never noticed anything wrong with her heart . No murmur or issues whatsoever.We believe she died from getting a bacterial lung infection after a prolonged dental procedure. We were very reluctant to proceed with the dental at her age but vets put a lot of pressure on pet parents to do it. A few days after the dental surgery Lucy collapsed at home. Rushing her to Mountain valley clinic, Roy completely failed to recognize the emergency. He gave lucy oxygen ,took an xray that showed fluids in her heary and lungs and gave her diuretics.He sent her home after a few hours . She was doing very poorly. I was told then that the lady who does ultrasounds was unavailable for several more days on vacation . But LUCY could wait .Lucy should have gone to an emergency hospital. But Roy did not indicate the need for it . When in fact ,Roy was not equipped to save her. That evening he finally calls my husband at 8pm and clearly says she is in no danger, she will not die from this.Lucy has a bad night and i lay with her thru the night and in the morning she seems a tiny bit better .i called in the morning but Mathew, Roy's son who works at the clinic, says "Dr roy Mccorkle wont be in today. But ill let him know to call you ." He never called.The next morning Lucy died 30 mns after I rushed her to another animal hospital.She actually drowned in lungs and heart fluids . An indication of bacteria entering the lungs and bloodstream during anestesia .Lucy was a very healthy 14 years young, happy as can be Havanese until the dental surgery.Lucy had been Roy's patient for 4 years now. Just before she died we spent apprx 2000 dollars at Mountain valley animal hospital.And ...seriously ! We have not as much as received a call or a sympathy card from them

Don't have enough good words about this establishment. Friendly and homey atmosphere that my pets could feel as comfortable as possible. The employees were caring and informative. The Vet himself is just the best and really knows what he's doing. Will never take our animals anywhere else. Definitely recommend.

We switched to Mountain Valley Vet after several unsatisfactory experiences with another vet service. My boss has been using Mountain Valley for years and mentioned that I would probably like using them and was very positive about the level of service that he has experienced with their animals.My wife has has a MUCH better experience taking out half German Shepard, half Golden Retriever to this office. She feels like the care is more personalized and that the staff always takes the time to fully explain everything. She and I both feel that these folks are more about customer care than making every buck they can on pharmaceuticals. Our dog has a problem has a problem with getting carsick and the last vet keep pushing a medicine that didn't work and really messed the dog up for hours...plus costs a gazillion dollars. When we made the switch, the doctor got us straightened-out with a new medicine that is much more effective and a fraction of the cost.

I just brought my 14 year old Pekingese home from Mountain Valley Hospital after emergency eye surgery. I cannot praise Dr. McCorkle and his staff enough as everyone there cares!! They are friendly and warm and patient.Every detail is explained and the care is impeccable. Love them!!!

Dr. McCorkle did more for my cat in one visit than 6 months at another vet down the road. I am very impressed with his care for each and every animal, ensuring that the best treatment plan is in place. He is also very thorough in explaining his short and long term treatment plan. I chose this vet based on the reviews and am still presently surprised at how kind and personal every phone call and interaction has actually been, despite the reviews telling me exactly so. They are happy and informative. They do not rush with visits or phone calls. The office is cozy and warm and does not give a “hospital” vibe. But most importantly they are amazing with my Great Pyrenees.

They have been our vet for about 13 years and we love having them care for our pets. If you want a flashy fresh new building and all the latest equipment and don't mind being fleeced to pay for all that then this may not be your place. Dr. Roy and his trained, prepared & knowledgeable staff - Lisa, Matthew & Nancy - are always ready, warm & welcoming on a good day... ready, warm & comforting on a bad one. They have seen my dog, Inga - a Norwegian Elkhound - and I through a lot! Now that she's seventeen, it's getting serious. The best part is, all along, Dr. Roy has taken the time to explain medical diagnoses & treatments to me and thoroughly answer my questions. That way, when I'm home alone with the Best Dog in the World, I'll know what I'm doing!

Real deal my you know what. Not if your expectations are high. Not if your used to the best. Typical country bumkin off the turnip truck. This is one of the worst vets in Buncombe county. It's dirty, dingy like a dungeon, they never answer the phones, they do not return calls. It's all family members who have absolutely no idea what is going on and they tell you that which of course makes you feel so secure, lol. There is only one vet office in this whole town that has an impeccable reputation and it's not this vet no doubt. My kitty has diabetes mellitus that is way above what they can handle. I would highly recommend you go elsewhere and do your research carefully. It is truly a nightmare.One more thing Mccorkle, if I find out that you, Asheville Vet and Pisani, Crossroads mobile are talking among yourself and blackballing my boy because of your unethical behavior trust me and know this, you will all loose your licences ASAP. AMEN
