A family favorite, but it’s getting shaggy around the edges.We call this store the “Mingles” because it’s the Merriman Ingles. There’s one in Black Mountain that we call the Blingles and the Ingles one in Swannanoa is the Swingles, etc. The Mingles is my main grocery store, as it’s a six minute drive from my house. I have been going to this particular Ingles for over 16 years.The good news is that it has all of the staples I need; every once in a while, I will have to run to another market to pick up something more exotic, such as a particular herb or spice, but Ingles mostly has 95% of what I need. Over the years they have expanded their organic offerings as well. They also have quite a few local offerings.However, this particular Ingles seems to be getting a little shaggy around the edges. See photos. I think it may be time for new flooring, because they are really starting to show some wear. Would also be nice to update their self- check out, many of which only accept credit cards, and it often seems as if the scanners have goop on them, or bits of produce or oil, and are not wiped off with some frequency.I do appreciate the new pharmacy, which only seems to be a few weeks old, but while they were putting a new pharmacy, it would be nice to have put in new floors and updated a few other things as well.While I completely understand that many grocery stores do not have the budget to update major elements like floors, the shagginess extends beyond simple cosmetic repairs.Again, often I will find the self check-out scanners to be quite dirty, sticky to the point where I don’t wish to even put fresh produce on the scanner, and it seems that no one is wiping them down between use. This extends to the entire self-check-out area, where there are often dribbles of things or minor trash.The cash register receipts are often not changed out as well, resulting in very, very light print outs of the receipts.I know there’s so many many other grocery stores nearby competing for business, thus….Investing in a little bit more cleaning, and eventually, some new flooring, would be lovely. While I do appreciate the new pharmacy, and I understand that must’ve been quite expensive, just investing in some deep cleaning would really make a difference!

I went to cosmetics and grabbed some hair dye and other feminine products. The associate think her name was Carol, noticed me doing so. She began to follow me around the store.Why? That is what the purpose of shipping is, to place items in the cart.When I went to check out, she was right there at front check put, I noticed her reprint my receipt, then proceed to ask me if the items in the bottom of the cart were mine. I said "I would think so, they are in my cart." She stood there blatantly scanning the copy of my receipt. Then gave me a very fake smile.There was no reason to profile me other than. The fact I am homosexual and bi racial. She is rude.She is not a cashier, she is not loss prevention. This is a makeup lady.Will not be back. Will be going to Harris teeter from this day on. Train your employees, this is NOT 1940 anymore. Lucky I do not file a lawsuit

Every time I come in there the lady Carol who works in cosmetics thinks she has lost prevention. She follows me around if I even walk over there. I walk away because I know she's going to run up to the register. Make a scene check my receipts which is unnecessary. I pay for my items anytime she sees me. She's asking me if the items in my cart are paid for and this and that and that is insulting. I'm a bartender and a business owner and I'm sick of it and it's only because of the way I look. If I looked different. If I was white and older she wouldn't bother me. If I didn't have tattoos I wouldn't be bothered. I called the store manager to no avail. So next step is I'm going to file a lawsuit. Do not come here. The rest of the little young kids that work there are very sweet but she is just the devil incarnate

How can y'all continue to sell items expiring or expired? Milk is always 2 days out from expired. Your fresh produce is sooo old. Prices are really high for the quality. Regularly go to all other grocery stores and get better quality and prices.

Ex employee here to say: Don’t shop here unless you support employee abuse because that’s all this place does. One register open but four to five employees standing around not helping? It’s sad. Give your actually employees (and I mean the ones that work not the ones that stand around) a raise.

Just found a chicken bone in my sandwich. This is disgusting and dangerous. How can you allow this to happen? I think you seriously need to check your process and procedures in the deli/sandwich department. Please check all your food before you eat it if you are going to continue buying these products from Ingles.

Having recently moved here a few months ago, this is one of the few places that offers all the convenience and niceness of the posh places but without the obnoxiousness, which is always a plus. The beer cave as well as their selection of imports, domestics and local beers is the finest in this area...bar none.The fish was super fresh and the csr actually came from behind the counter to speak with me...asked if I needed any help...I was almost too shocked to answer. I smiled, and informed him I was just admiring the selection and freshness. Really just amazing selection.My only complaint was that there were no bagged oranges or tangerines. It was all bagged grapefruit, lemons, lines and oh yeah, more grapefruit.Otherwise, this place is great. The shelves are clean, everything is dusted and tidy.The Starbucks girls were all pissy, but I think that is par for the course....gad, they never smile. No matter, don't drink that swill anyway, just like the smell of coffee.Oh yeah, they have an awesome selection of Italian gourmet, and just cool gourmet stuff. Definitely want to try the dog and walnut butter....omg! So excited.

One if the better Ingles in Asheville. It's fairly large with a nice variety of items. I honestly took Ingles for granted until I moved out of state. I miss their beer selection. I deducted one star because as a whole I find Ingles to lack in customer service.

Great store for everything you need, this location is going under construction, but I still love to get groceries, from this location. Friendly management and employees , good variety, great quality. Unfortunately the Ingles on Tunnel Road, not so good. Rude management, great employees. They seriously need to hire a better manager for this location. It might be the stress of all the riffraff that hang around and steal, this Ingles is desperate for help, but the pan handlers that just act homeless, when there are so many stores in the area that are desperate for employees, just use this Ingles as A hang out.

Expired milk selling it full price I ate twice at there deli I had the white fish plate meal yesterday I had a sub I got sick off of both I ate my fish dinner I literally got food poisoned 🤮🤮🤮🤮 so I will never return to this Ingles

My experience at the deli today was not ok. Just because you're the only one working doesn't mean you need to be rude to customers especially when I was not rude first. Not to mention she was chewing gum like a cow over people's sandwiches and the buffet. That is unacceptable food service.

This Ingles has great employees. I enjoy talking to them and seeing them. The reason for 3 stars is the store is still set up like the old style and so it cannot handle as many people and gets very crowded very fast.

Store could use an upgrade. Seems to be dirty compared to newer locations. Has a couple of electric chargers and nice easy gas location. Prices in area are much higher for fuel than other markets.

More affordable groceries, produce typically in good shape. A little less clean than Publix and not as wide a range of organic or alternative options. Can buy everything you need here if you aren’t picky about brands.

Love my Ingles experiences 😁 I'm always satisfied with my shopping experience.. my own personal opinion is that Ingles has an excellent produce department, deli and bakery 👍

This used to be my absolute favorite Ingles in Asheville, but over the last year it has gone downhill on a massive scale.I am giving it 3 stars only because the pharmacy is the best in Asheville as far as I am concerned, Mike and Walter are both hands down the best. So they alone earned this store 2 extra stars.I don't know if it's the new management or just a lack of good staff, but they have issues. More than once I have gone here to recieve attitude when having to use change or having requests or questions about prices. Previously If the pricing was wrong they would comp the item, but now they just change it to correct the price.The other night I had to run out cause I forgot my wallet in the car. Upon returning I found my cart had been moved to a corner and left there. The cashier told the manager I was back and he rang me up which is fine. Then no one bothered to tell me where my groceries were. Luckily I had found them on my own. Another night the auto cashier had messed up and frozen. They made me sit and wait for it to unfreeze and then tried again only for it to freeze again. He came back and put me at a whole new register to check out. All in all took me about 20 mins to checkout about 5 itemsTonight I was there and heard a lady tell the woman running the auto cashier's that she no longer wanted an item. The cashier replied, you'll have to put it back and went back to listening to her music. It's just an all around service issue at this location now.

Stopped to get gas and had to stand there smelling the store clerk standing at the gas pumps smoking. Disgusting cigarette smoke 🚬 and to boot no paper in the pump for the receipt I needed. Had to walk through her wall of smoke and wait till she put it down to get the receipt printed. Perhaps instead of smoking do your job and put paper in the pumps. I avoid this store the most out of all of the Ingles due to employee's smoking all the time out front.

This goes for all Ingles.Just double check your expiration dates.You're much better off reaching for the product in the back on the shelf rather than what's on display. Otherwise you might as well be shopping at go grocery.Like other supermarkets, Ingles will put their old products in the front and new in the back. Better to be aware than to get all the way home and find out you just spent money on stale or spoiled food. Groceries cost too much for all that.

Absolutely delicious,ice cream is delish, the cookie has the perfect consistency. I've tried many ice cream sandwiches, #1 is target brand but you have to get the minis. This one comes second tho... But I will say Laura Lynn makes a dang good ice cream sandwich. As always, the last bite is the best. Disappointed in the wrap job, as shown in pictures.

I shop here regularly. The salad bar is fantastic and all other food selections are pretty good. Prices are comparable to other stores like it here. People are always friendly and helpful. They have everything from apples to zucchini and a very wide selection of wines and beer. I even bought socks here once. Solid place.

You need to keep an eye on the check out prices, they usually overcharge you with regular price groceries when advertised on sale.
