We have partnered to find the best hormone replacement therapy and I feel so much better these few months later. And, the space itself is beautiful . . .it exudes healthy living. I am so grateful to Katelyn Owensby at Asheville Compounding. My Dr. referred me to her for ongoing hormone imbalance issues and I wish I had found her years earlier. She works with my complex situation (EDS) and answers questions or researches for answers when she doesn't know. She will keep working with you to make sure she gets it right. The folks at the counter are attentive, fun, supportive and just all around enjoyable people. They also work remotely so even if I am traveling or if I ever leave the area I can continue to work with them.

The staff are very friendly and are always helpful with any questions that I may have. They have gone above and beyond for me with any prescription issues in the past. I prefer to come here over other pharmacies just for the sake of peace of mind, knowing they will treat you right. I even used to work at Walgreens and could not get my own coworkers to be as helpful!

I could not be happier with ACP! Their consulting services and prescriptions for HRT have significantly improved my quality of life. They go above and beyond to communicate with my physician. Kaitlyn has been extremely helpful with testing and discussing options. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. ACP even blended meds for my cat that previously had been impossible to administer. So grateful!

I've been getting hormone creams here for years. The staff leaves a LOT to be desired. Get your products and get out. If you can find it somewhere else, you would be better off. They are just not great with their customer service.

Asheville Compounding pharmacy is absolutely wonderful! I thoroughly enjoy having a place so close to have my medicine made and they even make their own creams, lotions, etc. I bought an Eczema cream that they make for my husband and he says that so far it works better than anything else ever has. Bonus: the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable!

I like the idea of supporting a local independent business. However, I can no longer shop at Asheville Compounding Pharmacy. I have a repeated experience (3 times or more in just the past year) of them practicing what seems to be "phishing". Here's how their scheme works: they generally will not inform me of the price of a medication at all in advance. Then I get a receipt where the medication is 10 times the price it should be (for instance, $450 is charged, when the medication is normally only $50).Then, when you call them on it, they apologize, say it will never happen again, and refund the price. However, I believe they do this practice with the hope that most people won't notice the high price, and they will be able to unethically make 10 times the profit.The other scenario they use is when you do ask them in advance what the cost is, they will "float" out an absurd price to you, again generally 10-times what the cost should be. Then, when you insist you won't pay the price, they apologize, tell you the "real" price, and insist it was a mistake, and that it will never happen again.After this scenario happening now almost every time I have to get a new prescription filled, I've realized it's a scheme they are using. It is unethical and absurd.Perhaps it is just an ongoing error. Perhaps their staff are simply incompetent. I don't know for sure. If it is an ongoing error, then how could anyone trust that they have the presence of mind to actually put the correct pills in the bottles -- I mean, if they can't even figure out the correct price to charge you?Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.(Response to Asheville Compounding Pharmacy's response below: The experience of misquoting prices or attempting to charge me 10 times the actual price happening in person to several times. Once I was there in person, I was charged much more than the correct price for my prescription, but I only realized this after getting to the car. They did refund the difference at that point -- but only because I caught it. There were 2 additional times within the past 3 years, when I visited in person. Thankfully, before the higher mistake price could actually be charged to me, the person at the counter told me the price they were going to charge, and I told them it could not be correct. They then "looked" for another price, and found the correct one. This is a total of 5 times in 3+ years where I was charged or almost charged the incorrect price. And let me be clear -- the incorrect price was always a mistake in favor of Asheville Compounding Pharmacy, never towards me. Hence, my suspicion that something untoward is going on there. There may not be written records of those exchanges.)

Absolutely phenomenal pharmacy experience! One of the only Pharmacy’s that pick up the phones, and Kevin is amazing at customer service. They also carry reputable brands for supplements that I’ve never seen at any other pharmacy.

I cannot say how amazing Asheville Compounding pharmacy is! The whole process is so efficient from start to finish—and you even get a text message when your prescription is ready for pick up. Prescriptions are filled so quickly. Staff is very pleasant and the whole vibe is great here (much much better than those big chain pharmacy places!). I’m so grateful this local business exists. They fill regular prescriptions as well FYI.

Probably the best compounding pharmacy I've encountered. The staff is definitely eager to have business and enjoy serving their customers. Though we have to drive almost an hour to get there, knowing that when we enter the store, we will be well received makes the drive well worth it. We have been customers of ACP for many years. It’s a gift to be known and have a personal relationship with our pharmacist and his staff. Recently, I asked the owner if he could contribute some medications for a friend’s medical mission trip to the Ukraine. Not only did he gather together an abundance of much needed medicine from the list of needed drugs but he actually thanked ME for offering him the opportunity to give to this worthy project. WOW!

Very knowledge pharmacist and staff! I had been taking a fish oil that was recommended; it was supposed to be a specially sourced Menhaden fish oil with Omega 3s and great for heart health. But after speaking with John, the pharmacist at Asheville Compounding Pharmacy, I learned that what I was taking did not have sufficient doses of Omega 3s to help supplement my diet. Asheville Compounding Pharmacy carries a great line of supplements with correct dosing amounts. I highly recommend their qualified staff!

I just had such a refreshingly thorough and informative consultation with John, one of the pharmacists, about building a prescription personalized to my changing hormonal needs. Ladies, don’t make the mistake I made by suffering through menopause because you don’t want to support the killing of foals to make Premarin! Asheville Compounding Pharmacy tests your hormone levels and then creates an animal-friendly compound that addresses all of your issues. Despite what can be an uncomfortable conversation to have, John was very easy and comfortable to talk with and even gave me his favorite bean recipe for better protein. While I was there, I also picked up a compounded prescription for my cat (because they do that, too!) Plus, they have financially supported Asheville Humane Society for two decades, and clearly that is extremely important to me. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I would have given a 0 if I could. My doctor gave me a prescription for Ivermectin to help keep me healthy during current break through infections and International travel. This pharmacy thinks they know better than my medical doctor and refused to fill it. They are not medical doctors and yet blocking medical decisions which is legally outside their pharmaceutical license. Last time I checked doctors are the ones who went to medical school and prescribe medicine they feel is in the best interest of their patient. I’m very concerned about the disregard of our medical doctors and the independent control of needed medicine being blocked by irresponsible and ignorant financially corrupt influences causing harm when they are supposed to help.

The best experience ever. I had a terrible time trying to find a pharmacy that would order the medication prescribed for an eye infection. The were so amazing! Even followed up with a call to check on me a couple of weeks later. Such amazing and caring pharmacists!!!

Nothing is too much trouble or too strange a question for these professionals. If you're used to dealing with chain pharmacies, this experience will actually make you happy. They work with pet medicines as well as human, and always aim to get you the best deal and they are fast. Easy refills via automated phone system, but a person is available for questions, too.

These people are just rude. Won't discuss if they have an Rx and price unless they have the Rx in front of them. I simply just wanted to know if you could do it in house and approximate price. Good God Moving on Has this place been sold?

I have a compounded cream that dispenses via "click" and the last time I got it from them, it was clicking weird to dispense the meds. I brought it to them a few days later and they replaced it without a problem while I stood there. Outstanding service and will continue to use them.
