Had a wonderful first visit with my German shepherd! Colleen was FANTASTIC. Zeus was soft, clean and a great report. I could tell she understood his breed and knew exactly how to handle him!!!! We will be back!

Our experience was…a lot. I booked with scenthound because they had same day availability on a Saturday. I have 2 dogs that aren’t difficult to bathe by any means. I normally do all of their grooming care. At drop off, I could not understand where they thought they were getting $35 a month from me for. The scent check is beyond silly. If I want my dog analyzed, I would take her to the vet. I was also told that I was charged more for my pit mix puppy because she was in the system as an Australian shepherd… what? Neither dog was fully dry, our puppy was shedding in masses. I did not upgrade to the brush out but I would’ve expected at least a run through so she wasn’t disgusting. The owner told me as we were leaving “we wont hurt them”… that doesn’t make me want to leave them with you. Just a weird vibe, atrociously overpriced, and non personable staff. Will be going back to tractor supply for $10

I brought my dogs here for the very first and last time this past weekend. Upon arriving, we let the front desk lady and one of the groomers know our dog was very nervous on the ride and was very nervous to be there in general. (unfamiliar place, unfamiliar people) They didn’t take a second to greet my dogs and make them feel comfortable, just went ahead and put leashes on them while explaining their membership information with us. When they were finished I had to help guide my dog to the back room because again, she was very nervous and didn’t know these people. We left and waited a little over an hour before we received a call on our way back that they were only able to complete one of our dogs grooming services today because our other dog “bit one of their employees”. We were devastated to hear that because that is completely out of her nature and just proves she was not comfortable. They asked for her rabies vaccine to make sure it was up to date, which they’re required to do before the dogs appointment. The lady at the front desk seemed annoyed as if it was our fault, but didn’t keep us any longer than we had to. The next day we get a call from the apex police department, asking us information about what happened. We were not there, we did not see her bite anyone and we do not know what happened. Followed by the apex police department calling, animal control calls. Today we get a call from chatham county sheriffs department. The only thing we were told is that “as soon as they tried grabbing our dog to put her on the table, she bit them”. They did not call us when the situation happened, only over an hour later when our other dog was finished being groomed. So the lack of urgency to call us to get our dog yet the numerous calls from all these different departments is absurd. We will not be returning to scenthound and would not recommend.EDIT: in reply to the owner, my dogs service was never started. They waited over an hour to call us for a “dog bite” that we are still unsure of the situation that occurred. we OF COURSE asked if the groomer was okay (what person wouldn’t)…. This company is clearly only trying to cover themselves! because of THEM, and their LACK OF EXPERTISE with certain breeds, our dog is now on the animal control bite list! they did not bathe my dog, brush her teeth or trim her nails. All they did was cause her trauma and stress her out!

The entire staff was extremely nice, right from squeezing me in to get my Joey showered n groomed to catering to Joey’s anxiety. My boy came back to me looking gorgeous like he had never before and he’s 3, so he has been to a few groomers before. Helpful n knowledgeable staff and very friendly - I highly recommend them.

I first began with Scenthound Apex from their very beginning signed up before it actually opened.I didn't have many issues at first, but after so many staff changes it seemed that the services were taking less than 1 hour and that to me seemed odd since my dog does not like the dryer and needed to dry in the crate in addition to the de-shedding treatment, it should have taken longer.Then staff changes again and it seemed that some of the services were left out such as nails being trimmed.But i continued to go because with management and staff changes I was assured things would be better.That was true for a while, until my dog pulled his CCL which made the grooming process slower for him, they did fine for a while then i noticed each time i picked up my boy, he would favor his back leg and major limping began, even with his bi-weekly shots, the only time he would be in pain and agitated was after picking him up from his grooming sessions.I had explained to them over and over again about his back leg and i was assured they took great care. After my last appt. in Aug, (approx) I finally cancelled because my boy could barely get out of the car and make it up the stairs, hard for me to carry a 65lb dog up a flight of stares. I was forced to give him his shot early along with pain pills.Recognizing the fact that they are groomers and have no responsibility for the injury but after asking numerous times to take it easy and even if it costs me more to have time taken with him and longer time frame, that was fine.After cancelling my account with them, i was surprised to find they charged my account for services that were not authorized and now they don't seem to return calls or answer their phone.My biggest problem with this location is the continual staff and management changes, and that the owners do not engage in the business which is a good way to lose business.

We brought our golden doodle to Scenthound in Apex for the first time yesterday. On arriving, the receptionist ran her hands over our dog’s fur and said she was glad she wasn’t matted. We selected a medium length cut. 10 minutes later, the receptionist called and said there was some matting on our dog’s chest and stomach and that she would have to be cut shorter, but she wouldn’t have to be shaved. I told her we did not the tail cut. When we picked up our dog we were horrified. She had been completely shaved including her tail. It’s obvious they didn’t even try to comb out her tail and face. Her ears are now uneven. This was the worst grooming our dog had had in her 12 years of life. We will never take her there again. See before and after photos. Great experience with our first visit today! Friendly staff who were able to fit us in for a bath and shedding treatment same day. They took their time to make sure my mastiff was comfortable and he left happy and smelling great!

Prash is very good with my puppy and she has an excellent Customer Service orientation and she respects customer by listening to their request. Place is very clean and hygienic and systematic. I am glad my Rio comes here for his basic hygiene and he loves it. Thanks!

Worst grooming experience we have ever had for any dog I have ever owned. We got the basic package and added in blow drying. When I picked our dog up I paid and they asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I added 20% to the bill not having seen my dog yet, not that was a mistake. When he came out he was soaking wet and was not even brushed. His tail looked as if it was not even washed. To say he looked worse leaving than when he came would be an understatement. They said he was very afraid of the dryer which I understand but at least brush him. They still charged me for the blow dry though. The employee was very nice and said next time maybe skip the dryer. I promise there will not be a next time. I would think that groomers would be used to dogs that are scared and now how to soothe them but not here. Overall a terrible experience.

The general manager (he's new) said, and I quote, "it's a one-size fits all, haircut." So, that explains why our two dogs (both golden retrievers) came home with a haircut that's only acceptable for a single-coat bread. This company solely grooms dogs... and their "GM" doesn't know the difference between two-coat and single-coat? That's concerning.Note: We were with this company for two years (just bath/sanitary trim/paw trims) and I thought let's try a hair-cut. Big mistake.So, I went to Reddit with photos to ask for other professional opinions because I am not a groomer and my knowledge is minimal. Within an hour over 600 people validated my concerns, some of which work for scenthound in other states. (They encouraged me to demand a refund, I didn't ask for a refund at any point.) Within a the day a few thousand had confirmed my suspicion. (For some reason I'm not able to link it here.)After the defensive conversation I had with the GM, I requested a call from the owner, whom I have met. She was incredibly kind and we chose to stay with the company solely because she wanted to turn things around. The new GM cancelled our membership immediately after our brief conversation on August 30th, I received a text notification at 11:45am. Honestly, I'm grateful he did, because they require a 30-day written notice for cancelling the membership. No call, but I'm guessing she wasn't informed of my request.Lastly, I would have written a few great reviews by now, not every experience was bad, with this company but they can't keep the same groomers. The good ones leave very quickly. So the good experiences weren't consistent enough for us. Dogs also do better with groomers they are used to over time. That never happened here because they all leave. I wish I remembered their names, so I could find them.To the owner, please educate your GM. I still believe you can do better, our dogs coats are important. I don't care about the money, I care that your company might be doing this to other people's dogs. Our dogs coats are still sharp to touch, just please do better for your next customer. Please.Now they are going to write back an excuse - we are not interested. They will say you agreed to the haircuts, yes, I know I did, I even booked the appointment myself... assuming your company knew the difference between coat types.

Scenthound Apex is the premiere place for your fur babies! A friend referred me and I am delighted with the experience. The phone attendant was warm, helpful and patient with my many questions. The groomers came out to meet me and get a thorough understanding of my expectations. This was a first! Quincy & Boden had the cleanest ears ever and smelled so good that I bought the same products. The monthly maintenance plans are a cost effective way to keep your dogs looking and feeling healthy. Best dog grooming service in Apex is Scenthound!

Very disappointing. I drove 35 minutes for my scheduled appointment of a nail trim. While the receptionist was very apologetic and kind, after an hour of waiting, they told me it was going to be another 20 minutes for him to be finished. I was told that there was an appointment that came in super early and they had to finish that appointment before they could get me in on my scheduled appointment. That is very poor business. I will not be coming back again.

I recently took my pet for grooming at Senthound Apex but unfortunately, the experience was not good. The groomers missed important details such as leaving areas under the legs untouched and not cleaning the face properly. After getting him home I had to rework on him. In addition, I was charged for every single thing, which was not made clear upfront. If I am $100 in total for a 8 pound pet, I expect better!To make matters worse, I felt that the groomers were amateur and lacked experience and professionalism. As a pet owner, I expect quality services and attention to detail, but unfortunately, that was not the case with this grooming service.

The front reception was pleasant and attentive. I dropped my puppers off at 1:43pm for her 1:45pm appointment and she was ready for pickup in 20 minutes. Very prompt and she smelled great with a very shiny coat. I enjoyed the experience and will be back!

Original Post:Worst grooming experience, did not even touch the face or tail. Some other places they missed to cut which looks weird with uneven coat. Dog had a cut which they failed to mention, I could have started some ointment immediately, now its getting worst. Told to use hypoallergenic shampoo but still my dog is itchy all over his body (he was not matted, so this itching can not be due to removing matts). I do not think the cut hair were blown out, as I was having the hair all over my cloths after holding him. I was told that nails were already short so will just grind it, which I do not think it was done.After Owner's response:There were cuts after the grooming which resulted a vet visit and $194 bill and many days in cone for my dog. Lies upon lies when contacted them. As per owners response, they are trying to blame it on the new staff. If staff is new, then they should have been there to monitor. My dog is not for your groomers training.

My dog has always had a great experience at Scenthound. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. However, there has been regular turnover among staff, or at least the front desk staff. Fortunately, each of the new employees has been great to work with. It would be nice to see the same smiling faces each time we go back.

The team has changed a lot. The first time I came it was a good experience and now it's been horrible. I keep hearing yelling in the back and it sounds like someone is threatening pets. I can't believe this behavior is allowed at all

This will be my first negative review I have ever left on google. I hope this shows how displeased I was. Wish I can rate this a 0. Extremely disrespectful! Groomers have an absolute awful attitude. Due to the groomer being mad shaved my dog hair completely off without giving us a call prior to let us know what is going on. Shamed my wife for our dog being matted due to him having a cone on his head for a while which made his chest matted. The groomer rolled her eyes, commented cutting our dog will take forever. Worse customer service I might have ever witnessed. Please consider hiring groomers who enjoy their job and will respect your customers. However, The receptionist was nice and kind.

We had a great experience at Scenthound! We had to reschedule our first appointment last minute and they were super understanding and able to reschedule quickly! Our dog doesn’t usually like her nails trimmed and they were very patient with her and were able to get that done! She still smells so good and is so soft a week later! Definitely will be back!

I have been bringing my pup “Kola” here for a year and a half and man I just can’t say enough good things about the organization! My pup has had not only major health issues, but sever anxiety due to very poor experiences in the past with grooming. When I drop her off, not only is she nervous, but I usually cry too! She’s my daughter with no thumbs! When I pick her up she comes strutting her stuff with a smile on and it warms my heart. The staff/owner are very caring and empathetic, not to mention extremely personable. If your like me and trust no one with your animals give them one shot, you will be able extremely pleased with your decision. We took our 4 months doodle for the first grooming, and received excellent service. Staff were really patient and took more time to feel my pup comfortable, I knew my puppy has sound anxiety and very reactive to touch. We were offered multiple options of shampoos and packages to choose. We'll definitely be back!
