I'd like to share my recent experience at the Apex, NC store. Today, I visited the store with my kids and my mom to shop for some items. While there, I found a PC chair for my son, but it didn't have a price tag.I took the chair to the cashier, and he mentioned that he needed to ask his manager about the price. Upon returning, he informed me that the manager didn't have the time to address it. I politely requested to speak with her.The manager returned with a less-than-friendly attitude, asking, "What do you want, ma'am?" I kindly requested that she price the chair as it was intended to be a Christmas gift for my son. She responded by yelling at me, saying she was too busy, waving her hand in my face, and then she shut the back door, displaying complete disrespect. This incident was very embarrassing, especially with an audience. I'm currently pregnant, and the stress of this encounter caused my blood sugar to spike to 200, leaving me unable to drive. I had to call my husband to pick us up.

Staff is not very pleasant. Went there today to try and donate several kids size bikes that are in great condition. We were treated as if our donation was a waste of their time. When asked if we could donate some, we were told they would only accept a couple of the "best looking" ones. Ma'am this is a goodwill. Really rubbed me the wrong way.

Love finding treasures. Wished they treated the employees better. They put out stuff every day, and I go every day and love the selection.

Had never been to this location til today and I gotta say,THIS Goodwill has SO much! So much I was there for hours! From the tons of furniture at LOW prices to the incredible amount of decor,I left with what I know was in hundreds, for 31 bucks! Fully stocked and easy location to find...love DIY projects? GO GO GO! ❤

They constantly change the prices when you get the you get to the counter. They keep trying to charge more for items because they think it is worth more. The cashiers tend to play fast and loose with how rude they want to be with people. They aren't even a non-profit organization either, and the recent price raises and money grabbing tendencies tend to really manifest themselves in employee attitudes.Update:The prices here are still outrageous two years later. It's bad enough that items would be cheaper to buy on ebay. And often prices are so high , items end up being cheaper new in a department store.Update:Prices are astronomical. Most items can be found on eBay for their marked price or less. Store is a mess, and employees seem miserable.

I went to register to pay for 2 pair of children's shoe's size 11 which says on the wall and on the website $2.89 a pair for children's shoes. So the total should have been $5.78 and $6.18 with tax. I ask could she break a $100 cash bill. The lady said she did not have enough change yet which is understandable so I was going to pay with debt card but she said my total was $8.99. This is unacceptable and I'm not sure why the correct prices that are on the wall right behind the register are not honored.

Thrift store shopping was once fun, enjoyable and frugal….. This review is about how excessively priced some items are for items that are received for FREE. This is extremely disappointing and unfair. The manager is also horribly rude to customers and at times loud and aggressive. Hoping someone reads this and responds accordingly

Like most NC Goodwills it’s not fancy and somewhat messy. The thing I dislike most is how the toys are randomly thrown into a bin.

It's becoming questionable at this point if any Goodwill can be considered a thrift store. But a regular store due to it's pricing methods. I agree with others that prices have increased on donated merchandise. Bikes are way to much household items are laughably high some shoes even curled at the toe because their so worn, have been individually priced to high. I can window shop on rodeo drive in Beverly hills not in goodwill

I went here to buy an old, banged up bread box that wasn't even clean to use as part of a funny white elephant gift. It was priced at 6.99 which was way too high. After waiting far too long for someone to come to the register, I asked the lady if she would take 5.00 for it (again.. more than it's worth but I had plans for it), and she asked what the marked price was. I told her, and she proceeded to rudely tell me that the marked price is the price, no negotiations. You would think they wouldn't be so greedy about things that were literally given to them for free.I walked out and will never go to this store again. The staff is rude, the store is unimpressive, and the prices are ridiculously overpriced.Goodwill continues to show it is a greedy business masked as a "do good" company.

This location is hit or miss. Some items are priced very reasonably and others are absurd. I’ve noticed stuffed animals here are listed especially high, even non valuable ones. Shoe prices are also very high on name brands, even when they are in bad condition. Clothing selection is generally good and the stable prices on that is worth a visit. I’ve purchased some cool things for good prices, but I’ve skipped on so many things because the price is way too high for the quality of the product at a Goodwill. The bins here tend to have good items from time to time. However, something they have started doing recently (I haven’t seen other locations do this, so I’m not sure where it’s coming from), is ripping off the price tags of clothing items that still have new tags. As in they rip off the portion that shows the original price of the item, but still leave the tag to indicate it is a new with tags item. It’s a very bizarre practice that I find annoying. The store is moderately organized and seems to be replenished at decent rate. Employees are also hit or miss - some are very friendly and a pleasure to see, and others are downright rude.

Prices are too high for FREE DONATED items. Many things are priced close to original new in store prices, esp artwork. For example, they are asking $10 for a damaged frame that sold at Kirklands NEW for $20.

Sold me two defective TVs. I went back to ask them about it and they said they test everything and blamed the broken screens on me. Do not buy anything but clothes from here. They could care less if things are broken or not. They will still sell them. The assistant manager I spoke to was rude and condescending as well.

Goodwill used to be one of my favorite places to thrift. It's very obvious with all the changes that have been made at the corporate level, that any special luxury or higher end items have been purposely removed from this location. There are nice items but you will not be finding any hidden treasures here. Clean store very nice employees, but definitely not a place to find any hidden gems

Decent location. Nothing exceptional there, the staff isn't the friendliest, and prices are a bit much in comparison to what you'd expect. Also, not in great shape in regards to cleanliness either.

Overall I've had a good experience. The layout of the store is straightforward and things are easy to find. When I've gone the store has been neat, except for in the dressing rooms. My only real complaint is that they seem to be extremely short staffed. I always see the same women working the register, pulling items for customers and running to do things in the back. It usually ends up with there being a ridiculously long line at the register during busy times.

This location is gross starting with the parking lot ... litter scattered and the trash bin in front is always full. Then inside the floors ate filthy, there is minimal stuff. Overflowing clothes but such disarray. They don't know how to price items outside their standard stuff. Clean up your act.

This store has got to have a new manager. Of the several stores I frequent in the area this one is 5 to 10 times the price on everything. Im not kidding. And this is all happened in the last 2 or so months. 5 dollar stuffed animals, 5 dollar 15 year old video games. Shoes for 15 dollars. Vcrs for $15. I would avoid donating and visiting this store till corporate has a chat with this pricing manager. Absolutely atrocious for stuff freely donated to them.

Been a few months since i've been there. But over the last few years this location has fell off on customer service. Apperance and cleanliness the only plus is they use to take cash only and now they take cards the store appears well stocked. But I went from shopping there weekly to shopping there every few months because I never find any thing like I use too. I went into another location a few days ago. When i walked in i was greeted the store was clean staff there acted like I was at a retail store, yet here its more like a yard sale that happens to be inside. This makes me sad that there is such a dramatic difference between the locations. But I personally seen that it changed my decision to shop there without me even relizing it.

Deborah provided the most terrible customer service that I have ever experienced, ever! If I could give a -5 stars rating, then I would. My husband and I were second in line to check out, while my step-daughter was waiting at the glass case to look at an iphone. Deborah explained to my 13 year old step-daughter that no one under 18 could request too view items within the case. I stepped out of line and walked to the glass case. I waited until the person ahead of us was checked out (which she took abnormally long to do), then requested to view the iphone for my step-daughter. Deborah then attempted to refuse me service, by stating that I was under the age of 18. Mind you, I am an almost 30 year old woman, with her husband and three children. My husband explained that I was not under the age of 18, and that she should service me before checking him out. She reluctantly handed me the iphone from the case, while continue to berate me with comments about how I looked underaged. This was extremely insulting and belittling. My husband and I are both frequent donors and customers at Goodwill. Needless to say Deborah should not work as a cashier at this location, she seems to be better suited to work behind the scenes (if at all) due to her inability to be respectful to customers.

Great selection but the staff is very rude and discourteous. Southern hospitality? Forget it. I was trying to purchase two chairs and wanted to leave them at the register temporarily so I could retrieve the matching table across the room and the cashier refused. Mind you I’m spending my money, there’s no one in line and didn’t ask them to help move anything. I’ve bought items at other GCS and Goodwills nationwide and never had that problem. Compared to other Goodwill stores, this is was really the bottom of the barrel . Rudeness should never be an option.

The WORST prices of any GCF. Had some IKEA kids hooks priced $9.99... and to buy it from IKEA is $4.99 new! A salad spinner bowl (nothing to spin or the top) for $8.99... I don’t think I’ll ever return, not worth it at all. Not sure what they’re trying to prove- their inventory is free.

Store is dirtier than most Goodwill stores. Both staff members had horrible attitudes to each other and all the people who checked out while we were there. The female cashier with huge hoop earrings just kept staring at us like she was going to attack us.

Prices are up, quality is down. They don't take debit cards. No matter how busy they are, they never open a 2nd cash register though all stores have two. Lines can sometimes take 15 minutes or more to check out. If you have one or two items and pay cash, it doesn't matter. The person in front of you might have 20 items of cheap glassware and the cashier has to wrap each one separately. Then there's the times when someone is finished checking out and they had the cashier a debit or credit card which they don't take. It takes 5 minutes for the manager to come up front and void out the entire transaction. I think the 5 star review is a shill. Everyone else gives GCF one or two stars.

They price these donated items close to retail. They write on everything with permanent marker so that if there is any value to the item it's long gone once you realize you cant get the marker price off. Rude workers, just not really a thrift store. Be better off going to ross or the dollar store lol

Wonder whose brilliant idea it was to display clothing by just article type and color. They do not organize by sizes. WHAT the heck??? So u have to look through each entire rack for your size? I was needing maternity clothes and apparently it's all mixed in. We just walked right out. Don't waste your time unless u have a specific color in mind. Even if you find it, good luck finding it in your size. Saves employee time.....but not a customers time. Don't shop here for clothing.

The guy who works there is terrible! Doesn't seem like they know what they are doing. They are so picky about their donations and turn away so much that it is turning people away from even attempting to donate. They are going to strangle their source of free goods! They turned down a kids desk being donated because it had a bit of glitter glue on it. That would be a great find for someone who would want to spend 10 minutes getting it off. I'm not going to spend the 10 minutes if I'm going to donate it. I sold it on craigslist on the same day. I really wonder what the heck Goodwill is doing? I will not waste my time attempting to donate here again. I sold the desk to validate my point. However from now on I will just give my goods away through Craig's List for free. It beats loading it in the car.

The guy at checkout is ripping people off on prices BIG TIME! Tried to mark up a kids pullover 3x the price and charge adult prices for kids clothes. Stay away from this location.

Bought an electronic item from here and it didn't even work. You would think they could at least plug it in and test it before selling it? Prices on some things are pretty high for what they are as well. You'll have to wait at the check out line for a long time. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Clothing is not tagged nor sorted by size...as one other patron said "dont come in to get clothes unless you have plenty if time." More clothing would be sold is organized...less time spent on finding clothing...more time to look at bigger ticket items. Register outdated. No buggies...hard to shop and carry-several patrons sat items in floor so they could continue to shop...
