I’ve been all over the country and this Walmart is the absolute worst I’ve experienced in all my storied travels. But then, you take a look around the town and it’s exactly what one might expect in a place that traveling web-loggers describe as having ‘an aire of perpetual gloom overhead.’Theft is rampant in this store and when reporting it, you’re looked at like you are the problem for reporting the theft.Most employees (and I use that term loosely) stand around yelling and laughing with each other or staring into their phones, uninterested in any kind of a task aside from socializing with their counterparts. The employees you will witness working, have a very defeated demeanor about them— Obviously because they are picking up the slack for the 95% of other people there who are not choosing to do anything other than show up.The produce usually looks like it’s been to rehab after a few rough years. Rotten and moldy food are pretty common on the shelves.The pharmacy seems to care less about what you need. Getting them on the phone to check status of prescriptions is nearly impossible. One pharmacist (when I showed up to inquire about a prescription dropped off three days prior) chose to lament to me how they aren’t paid enough and how much of a pain it is to run coupons on prescriptions and then told me to “just keep coming back because we don’t know whats going on with the system”. —I’ve been all over the country, and this was a first time experience with the surreal exchange with this employee working in a pharmacy!I’ve attempted to call this Walmart to chat with someone in charge to see if I could offer help. I was actually willing to come work there on weekends to stop theft. Both times I was put on hold for 20 minutes and no one answered.My best operational advice would be to either clear it out and start over or close up the location altogether—it’s too far gone for a reorganization effort.Take the extra drive to Chesapeake, Edenton, Williamston, or elsewhere for a much better shopping experience. Or if you must, go to this Walmart, do so before 8 AM to get in and out as expedient as possible.The end.

The cashier was very helpful and quick when looking up the price of the top soil I wanted to buy. I was also amazed to have a very helpful stocker come to the parking lot and help be load all the bags of soil I had purchased.

Staff was super friendly and store was clean. However produce was half rotten this is the second Walmart in the area where this is a continuous issue. At the cost of groceries there is no excuse for half rotten food.

Very clean 😁, Helpful and knowledgeable staff and good prices. Does have issues with stock for pet supplies (primarily cats). Short on staff since we had to wait 40 minutes beyond our scheduled pickup time. Plenty of parking but it can fill up fast for handicap parking 🅿️.

Don't walk in with a booksack or you will be stereotyped, but this is understandable in the world we live in, other then that clean and pretty much stocked at all times, (time saver for sure)

My experience at the Ahoskie, NC location was absolutely horrible. I was returning an item that I had purchased the night before and was constantly told by several employees that I could not return my item (despite having the receipt and all original packaging). They offered no solutions and just told me that there was nothing they could do to help. I requested a manager numerous times and was ignored. I called the Walmart customer service helpline about the issue and the associate who answered told me to put the employees on the line and all the employees refused to talk to the rep on the phone. After about 30 minutes of being told that there was nothing they could do and wouldn't accept my return, a manager eventually came, called the Walmart helpline and was instructed to issue my refund. Customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops and deal with nasty attitudes for simply trying to return an item. I will never visit this location again.

I like other Walli World stores better. I see broken stuff returned then it's just put back on the shelf and not disposed of I seen this happen in the store several times so always check name, date, serial number before I buy anything at this moment

Posted 4/12/23 This Walmart is super clean, spacious, stocked and well lit, but while I don't mean mean to sound like a grouch, I have a bone or two to pick with this store: FIRST, the pharmacy is great IN PERSON. DONNA, The lady who assisted me, really took her time to make sure that the prices I wrote down for my medications matched what I had checked on the phone at the store, and that took time. Doing so held up the line unfortunately. Still, she did her job professionally without a hitch. She literally spent like 10 minutes ringing up the 10 medications I had. She's wonderful evwrytime I come in. But the problem with the pharmacy, and the reason why I cannot give this store 5 stars, is because they do pick up many times when you call. It's my understanding the phones go out due to their PA system not working. I don't know if it's because of the small town we live in and perhaps it's not their fault, or a weather related issue maybe? Not sure but...it's really hard when I need to see if a script is ready and can't get through. Another issue I have with this store is not enough employees on the floor to help. You have to search around the store for ten minutes trying to find somebody. And being 4.10, stuff on the shelves sometimes tend to be high up. Waiting in line is an issue too, but aside from that, it's a nice attractive store with everything you need. It has a nice layout and great employees. Handicap parking is a strong point here. It's always available, so that is a plus here too.

You can NEVER get anyone to answer the phone!! So frustrating! Gas isn't cheap & driving just to fine out a RX is ready is ridiculous. Poor customer service as well.

Culinary Arts healthy choice snacks and pizza - fresh fruit and veggies - eggs real Butter for the oriental spaghetti and sparkling drinks for my Co-friend from Ghana! The Shrimp Alfredo Lean Cuisine meal for 1 person frozen dish for $2 48 is so delicious.... will stock up next week!!!! Rice crispie treats and fruit snacks for the kids too! This Walmart is getting worse! I bought a pack of chicken leg quarters on Thursday, opened them to clean and grill Saturday and they were RANCID!! The shelves are bare in a lot of areas. The store is so disorganized and junky.

This is a great go to Walmart. Not many people in the area buy up different things. So they're usually pretty stocked with the unusual items. I can always find what I'm looking for. Good people and workers.

The online grocery ordering with curbside pickup is absolutely awful. They constantly leave items out of your order, so you're paying for things you don't get. Other than that, I've had no bad experience with this store. But I most definitely would not recommend using the grocery pick up.

It's a walmart but it's better than most, at least when I was there. The old guy in sporting goods on 9/2/21 @ 830pm. He was wonderful & looked a product up for me & even showed me where it was by escorting me to the product. Even the young lady that checked me out was very nice. Store was clean & not crowded.

Tarboro N.C employees are no help. When you need someone their not available. When you call they are rude & just transfer you. It's about 10 lanes for checkout and you might find two open. I'd rather go to another one. Sometimes I look at things on their site & the system so slow, it says they have the product and don't. HOW ITS NOT KEEPING UP WITH WHATS SOLD OR NOT IN STOCK. WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT.

This is my hometown walmart.I love coming here.I know most of the people that work here.I enjoy just interacting with the workers.They are always happy to see you.I always find a great deal here.I have gotten a lot of things just because they were such good deals.I didn't need them.But why not.A deal is a deal.They don't.come by everyday.

Need to hire more people to stock the shelves! Shelves are always bare even though I always see people working hard in the store. Half of the time in the grocery section you have to dig at the back of the shelves to reach anything and on more popular items there is nothing there at all. This is not an employee problem, it's a personnel issue.

We have several Walmarts. A few is more desirable than others. My main complaints-poor customer service, not enough staff, and staff is to be desired. On a positive note: the prices are ok. Like other businesses the prices have increased. I wish they would bring back layaway
