I really like this Whole Foods. I get all my meat from here (fish, poultry, and meat). Everything is as great quality as you’d expect from a Whole Foods, from the Mediterranean bar to the sushi. Their buffet isn’t as good as some of the other Whole Foods I’ve been to, but it’s going to be hard to compete with all the nearby restaurants anyway.

I frequent this place and things are usually nice and fresh. IDK what has been happening as of lately though they seem to be falling off on the freshness of their fruits. This is not the first time I have seen the fruits like this so I had to take the time out to share this and this was not the only bag that was like this.

UPDATE: Gallagher reached out to me and addressed my concerns. I really appreciate it - yet - the people that work at the customer service counter need to be trained to show empathy if a customer a in pain over a product they used, even if that associate can’t help them right at that moment because they don’t have a receipt - and offer an alternative talk to the manager, etc. not be “I can’t help you.” It basic human decency. They should strive to make every interaction a pleasant one it’s their job. They’ve really gotten better at this location…Until yesterday.I have to use hypoallergenic stuff. So, I saw the Eco laundry detergent said HYPOALLERGENIC and I was so happy.Purchased and did a few loads of laundry, including my sheets and when I made my bed and turned in, had a massively painful reaction. Same thing with my gym clothes.Contact dermatitis is extremely painful..So I went to deter return it, but I didn’t have my receipt and the lady at the customer service she didn’t even say like oh I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience or any of this. I mean I was literally still in pain and I told her this, she didn’t care. She wouldn’t help me and she wouldn’t let me return it. Actually I didn’t even want to return it. I wanted to for a refund. I wanted to exchange it for another soap that I could look at the ingredients list more carefully, because apparently even if they say hyper allergenic doesn’t mean it really is.Since she said, no, I said I’m contacting the corporate office which I did and now it’s been two days and I’m still waiting to hear back from them. This is just really awful customer service for someone that has had a severe painful fraction to a product that you sell that says hypoallergenic.I’m really mad at this point and I’m hoping that someone at Whole Foods corporate sees this and reaches out to me so we can resolve this. I have an open case but I don’t have the case number with me right this second.

They have my favorite cupcakes! Now I don't have to go to the Columbus Circle location for these! Also got flowers for my wife--pink lillies.

It's wholefoods. The hot bar is always full and clean, produce stock is hot or miss, decent selections of cheese/ antipasti. Although, I wish they had more selection.

Great customers service. The staff was very helpful but when it came to some of the items like meat and seafood the selection was very limited. I didn't like the checkout line system that they have set up. You actually end up waiting for a long time as suppose making a line behind the cash register. The restroom was clean and the cashier was helpful.

I just left self checkout. The store was about to close. The security guy followed me in the elevator on the way to self check out. He was openly talking to the other security guy about people coming into the store at night to steal thinking that no one would see them. He said that people come to self checkout and try not to swipe all of their items. He and a few other employees were standing in a huddle near the front door. As soon as I finished my purchase the clerk came directly behind me and swiped her card on my machine. She and the security guy were standing together. It was so obvious. They were breathing down my back. I said damn they couldn't wait? She ran up to the security guy at the door and gave him the receipt. Right in front of my face. Why would you do that to someone so blatantly. This is not the first time that I have felt like I was being watched. I will no longer be shopping there! Enough is enough! It's always your own kind. If I was white in Harlem they wouldn't have been so blatant. We must do better. I will report this to the manage Ruby in the morning.

Bring back the lounge, the bathrooms, and a better hot food bar. The Mediterranean and cold salad bar is okay, but the hot food bar is simply awful. You gotta be kidding me. As Whole Food employees and representatives, have you ever visited any other Whole Foods? Come on now.... every day those trays are filled with the same chicken wings, hard chicken fingers, and dried out veggies. Not fair. WF Harlem has really turned into a prison commissary / cafeteria. They betrayed this community big time. Other than that I love the employees... but tell the manager to fight for us.

Pricey, but a wide range of food options. It’s very convenient when you need a specific food item or ingredient. Their hotbar/salad bar is fantastic and fairly priced.

The experience at this location has declined through the years. Customers don’t have access to the restrooms and the seating area is not available anymore. It’s better to go to another location. I usually travel to another location for grocery shopping and only go here if I need to grab a pressed juice on the go. This review should of been made, but I have time today.

One of my favorite locations. My go-to here is to stop by the bread section 1st to get my sourdough bread. Then move right next door (literally one step over) you can get an amazing slice of pizza which I always do (12 cash pizza cheese pie!!! *FRIDAY ONLY*). After grabbing my fresh oven-brick pizza I go downstairs to my beautiful selections of fruits (Pineapple, watermelon, and Asia pears are my favorite). After I will be making my way to self-checkout and say see you later! Thanks, Wholefood!

This whole foods market is one of the busiest in the city. I go often to this market to buy lunch. At times, lines are long so store has self checkouts to ease the process.

This place had it all when I visited for the first time. It was like walking in a wonderland of different varieties to choose from. The location is good, travel wise and fun to shop. So I recommend it for those who want good quality and good service with their shopping needs.

Super clean and quite large! The top level has mostly fresh pre-made food options and fruits. There are escalators going down to the main level with normal groceries. They have an escalator for carts to bring them up to the top checkout level.Only reason I give it 4/5 is because the up escalator was broken, leaving to a bunch of people having to walk up the stairs. With one escalator, it’s tough getting back upstairs as you also have elderly taking their time going up the same stairs.

Their restroom that was open to the public previously, is now closed and despite having a feminine emergency I was not allowed to use the bathroom. No one I spoke to tried to even look at me. For a Whole Foods that has “good customer service” coming from a lot of people in the reviews, ( which is why I shop there in the first place) they have some of the most unkind and unhelpful staff.

Customer service is a bit loose with it. I come here almost every day. Occasionally try to return items and they get all weird about it. Returns are part of your job as customer service. Next time I have issues, putting a call through to corporate. If you can't handle processing returns then move from behind the desk. I WAS RETURNING ONE SINGLE WHOLE FOODS ITEM. Do df better

So excited to finally have a Whole Foods close to home. This is just what Harlem needed. It's close to all of the major bus and train lines that run through Harlem. The food was fresh and the store was clean. The store employees were eager to help. There are lots of options, and this store supports and promotes local vendors.

This is a great Whole Foods but…This establishment has only a one ADA accessible self-checkout #6. Of note, it is not a dedicated self-check out lane but spot to a lovely manager that said “they could work on it.”I am a disability advocate and SBA owner. One day I hope that all the self check out lanes are ADA accessible. We live in a an able bodied world so my hope is that in time ADA accessible with be universal not one singular ADA shelf checkout. When it’s all accessible we all benefit. 💚Quick update as of November 2023:In-person cashier led check out: Not ADA accessible since the line snakes in a way that does not allow for 36”+36” (inches)Self-check out: 1 out of 2 self-check out stations are ADA accessible {the the below mentioned line items}~ #6—ADA sign is outdated wheelchair sign (needs to be current)— sign is not viewable since it is behind “quick grab” items— self scanner is difficult to interact with since it is too high for wheelchair users and those with mobility aids (**notice how I used the current language of with and WC users**)— manual corded scanner is not mounted on LEFT side. The cord is wrapped around a piece of metal on RIGHT side at height that is too tall & distance that is unreachable. It is not ADA accessible.— credit card reader is mounted on RIGHT side and similar to above it is at a height that is too tall & distance that is not reachable nor accessible~ #unknown- does NOT meet ADA accessible standards on mutiple line items (up to and including the line items mentioned above; this self check out in NOT the proper 36”+36” ADA accessible distance)If Whole Foods and parent company Amazon, took the time to hire a contractor that specializes in accessibility (like my colleagues or myself) they would avoid legal penalties and possible lawsuits.Harlem deserves better and seeing at this is a Harlem local Whole Foods. Our neighborhood and community deserves better.

This store is a joke. The staff, especially security act like a bunch of dogs. The salad bar is missing all green at 1pm, and I waited 30min for them to replenish. There is no bathroom for customers or an eatery section. Is this even wholes foods. Close down and start over again.but of course this store would be subpar considering the location.

Avoid this Whole Foods bakery for custom orders. I first ordered a birthday cake 3 years ago and it was so dry and stale, like it sat out in open in the fridge for three days. I decided to give them a second chance for my daughter's birthday cake just this past week. Big mistake! I ordered the cake online on Monday for a Friday afternoon pickup, called to confirm the order on Wednesday, and then Thursday at 5:30PM received an email that my order had been canceled. I called and they told me to call back in 30 minutes. When I did, they told me they "didn't have the right ingredients or a decorator," and that they "weren't taking orders for Friday pickup." I explained that I ordered it on Monday and confirmed it on Wednesday, and that I couldn't make alternative arrangements the night before the party. They told me they'd put me on hold while they spoke to the manager. I held for 30 minutes, then hung up, called again, and was connected immediately. They said they "got busy," but that they would end up being able to fulfill my order after all. How? I thought you had no ingredients and no decorator? The "no decorator" part was right- when I picked up the cake the next day, the text was completely lopsided. The cake looked awful. After two bad experiences, I won't give them a third shot.

Multiple issues with this location firstly the customer bathroom is “out of service” which is ridiculous and illegal for the scale of ready to serve food and beverage they sell. Management has an abysmal attitude, do not expect them to help. Not as many employees anymore or restocked products. Many empty shelves. Overpriced. Just going to stick to Trader Joe’s which doesn’t have these issues.

It's hard to argue with an outstanding line of products from fresh produce and meats to dairy, frozen, packaged foods and dry goods, and fine deli and salad bar ... plus all the fresh baked goods including breads, cookies, desserts, and even pizza! The lines are often long but they move quickly. Prices are reasonable and sometimes a bit above average but what you pay for is exceptional quality and for me that's worth it!

I really appreciate this location. The aisles are very large, and you have plenty of room to maneuver through the store. The store is extremely well stocked and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pros:- Fairly well laid out and easy to navigate- Fairly well-stocked, with the exception of certain sale items- Decent-sized eating area- Downstairs grocery area is fairly quiet and roomy - not cramped and crowded like the WF at 59th Street or Union Square- Good selection of produce, with some unusual itemsCons:- Check-out area is awkwardly laid-out, due to a large refrigerated section blocking the traffic. I had some unpleasant encounters with people who were basically trying to get by. Whoever designed this area should rethink it asap.- Smaller than some other Whole Food stores. Bakery was especially small, and I saw few gluten-free items.- Hard to find an employee downstairs if you have questions- Store exit is far from the entrance - to get back to 125th Street you have to walk about 3/4 of a block.Overall, a welcome addition to this neighborhood. I hope it does well and improves as it goes along.

Great and first Whole Foods in Harlem. We grew up in Harlem, so this is mind blowing for us. We went there to purchase an organic Beets juice that some friends bragged about. The store has a huge variety of products including vegan products at fair prices. Check out options varied from self checkout, limited items, and standard checkout 👍🏿 We are happy that we were able to get the Beet juice there because it wasn't available in the grocery stores that we visited in our area of the Bronx.

Omg thank you Whole Foods for adding a location to Harlem. The selection is great, lots of workers willing to help, and very clean. I love how many local options there are as well. It's a bus ride from me now so I won't have to always go to the one on 2 Ave or 14th street.

SHAME on all the EMPLOYEES AND MANAGERS. My PREGNANT WIFE came shopping a few days ago and was DENIED access to the restrooms. Instead she had an ACCIDENT and I had to bring her a change of clothes. Denying a pregnant woman who has to use the bathroom is DISPICABLE. She asked a cashier and the cashier told her to ask a manager. The MANAGERS wouldn't even look my WIFE in the eyes while denying her access to the bathroom. KEEP IN MIND SHE IS PREGNANT. I WILL BE BRINGING THIS TO CORPORATES ATTENTION.

Very nice variety of foods in, from the cheese section to the buffet line, to the bakeryI would wish that they were seating in the whole foods for people to eat their food. All other whole foods have it and it doesn't seem like the one in Harlem is the only place it doesn't have seating (Correct me if I'm wrong). Also, the buffet line always seems to take out all of the foods for the day three hours before closing time and it's a bit inconvenient for me. Other Whole Foods start taking everything away for the day at the closing time. It's alright if you live in Harlem and you need to do your shopping there, but I've seen better Whole Foods than this one

Maybe some times are better than hours judging by other reviews but registers are always severely understaffed in evenings. Currently two people for 30 customers which is a disgrace for a NY Whole Foods. Hope this gets fixed soon. Great selection of goods and ready foods, though!
