I can’t recommend seaport paw highly enough!! May is incredible and the only person I trust with my bernedoodle! We’ve been taking our pup here since her first haircut, and they are super accommodating especially when I need to squeeze a trim around the eyes. She knows exactly how I like her cut and always manages to keep her looking like a teddy bear even when it’s time for her summer haircuts!

Seaport Paw is the best Groom in NYC. (And this business is woman owned and operated). Every one at Seaport Paw ACTUALLY cares about each and every dog and human that comes thru the door. Their prices should be triple what they are. (And they charge a fraction of what everyone else charges). I’ve been to Canine Styles, Unleashed and a handful of others in the city, but no one compares to Seaport Paw and the family of groomers there. I see that others have commented about minor preferential cosmetic issues but I’d ask: do they know what happens when a dog gets impatient or moves during a haircut? If you notice a trim is uneven on an ear, seaport paw is happy to correct it.My schnauzer has been going to May, the owner, for 8 years. And for 8 years, Pippa has been beautifully and EXCEPTIONALLY manicured down to EVERY last detail.When I’ve visited other groomers in the city, that’s when my dog gets butchered. (Once I spent 4 months correcting a bad haircut from canine styles - only May could save her AND canine styles charged triple what seaport paw charges - we all have had a bad cut before and know how long it takes to correct it - thankfully May was there to save the day). Other groomers do not know traditional haircuts for the breed (or what’s appropriate for the mix), they just cut at will and pretend they know what they are doing. Other groomers do not know every dog and owner by name, other groomers treat you and your dog as a customer doing a transaction, and we know that’s not what we are looking for when handing over a member of the family. This is in stark contrast to the ethos at Seaport Paw where they know EXACTLY what they are doing and the right way to do it- with love, genuine care and attention to craft.I recommend Seaport Paw above ALL groomers in NYC. My dog, Pippa is noticed on our walks in the city and every day we no doubt get asked where I go. I cannot sing the praises of Seaport Paw and May enough. May knows exactly how I like Pippa to look and everyone there knows her by name. Nothing compares to Seaport Paw and May has been there for me and Pippa since she was a puppy. May is not only the most generous, loving human but that sentiment extends to her family of groomers and staff. I cannot recommend this small business enough. And I encourage everyone to take their dog to Seaport Paw. And to tip generously!!!

Walked in for nail trimming and it was done smoothly & swiftly at a reasonable price. My dog also loved the yogurt sorbet afterwards. Justin at the front desk was really nice and accommodating. Can’t wait to book more appointments for my pup here.

Absolutely livid, they butchered my pup’s ears. Before & after photos below.I took my cavalier spaniel for three specific services: sanitary trim (underbelly), paw pad trim, and nail trim. I specifically told the staff I didn’t want the ears touched. He asked if I wanted them cleaned, I said I didn’t want them cleaned or cut (so they were told twice).I picked up the pup to see his ears had an inch trimmed off in jagged, uneven cuts. It is clearly lopsided. It looks absolutely dreadful and will take months to grow back.When I pay $100+ for a trim (no bath, just the trim) my lowest expectation is that my requests are listened to. When I called to explain our dissatisfaction, I was given no remedy other than a quick apology for the miscommunication. I had to return in person to demand a refund.Absolutely will not go back. Do better.

I love Seaport Paw! May is the only person that I will let my Bernese Mountain Dog go to for baths. May absolutely adores dogs and takes such pride in her job.

Seaport paw is amazing and offers top notch services. It’s owner May is dedicated to providing each pet with a wonderful experience. My pup Luna loves to go there just to say hi! The location of the store is in an area with hundreds of dogs. They are always very busy and handle the demand with ease and quality service. I would recommend trying them out.

unfortunately after grooming my dog here for 9 years my review goes from 5 to 21. The main reason i will no longer bring my dog here is because Aria , the girl who is at the front entrance/desk rarely answers the phone and is always rude. I requested to talk to the owner but she has not returned my calls.2. the groomers raised their rates drastically without notifying the clients.3. if you don’t tip the grooners well they will add an additional $15 “demating fee”; my dog is silky and never has nots, i comb him daily.4. Anybody who’s anybody knows cocker spaniels are the friendliest dogs on the planet. i’ve never had any issues with him for nine years serviced in this store, but because i refuse to tip 20% after the rate hike up, there’s no time in their schedule.Other groomers in the area charge up to 25% less.I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Seaport paw is great! I like that they are a small local business and although chewy *hates* being groomed she never seems too shaken up when I pick her up.You definitely need to be very specific when you ask for what you want in your groom. Chewy always comes out looking cute.They usually have last minute or next day appointments available which is also nice.Last time they gave her a cute flower bow too.

May is the absolute best! I have a rescue dog with significant health issues, and there is no one else I'd trust with her grooming care. May is so careful of her needs and so thoughtful in her approach - she really takes the time to get to know my dog and make the right plan for her. My dog is always happy, healthy, and very cute after her groom, and I'm incredibly grateful.

Best groomer and people ever! I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner. I used to live on the Upper East Side and I absolutely LOVED my groomer there. I was really comfortable with them and I knew they too good care of my babies so I was really worried about bringing them to a new groomer. But when I met May the owner of The Seaport Paw I just knew by her cherry, kind and animal loving disposition that my pups were going to be in good hands. My pups are (were) seniors. I say were because one recently passed away. The last year of his life he went blind suddenly. He was very scared when he became blind and I couldn't believe it when May sent me a video of him totally calm and relaxed while she was grooming him. He was seriously being pampered and he was loving it! Even though he was blind he totally trusted her and felt so comfortable it literally made me cry. I'm so grateful for the special care she took of him and that she continues to take of my other pup when he is being groomed. Such a great place and great people!

I've been taking my Deville (see pics) here for years. I live in Brooklyn but the trek here is worth it.The grooming and care is always A++!The products are awesome (treats AND grooming products.The service is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and May runs a great ship.PS- She also does a fab job with color 💙💚💛💜🧡❤️👍‼️

I will never go anywhere besides Seaport Paw for my dog's grooming. I have tried to go many places over the past 2 years, and I never had any success because my dog is a rescue with bad anxiety. May, (the owner and head groomer) went above and beyond to gain my dog's trust and due to a ton of patience and care he now loves her! She does an absolutely amazing job as well- his haircuts are perfect and you can tell how much time, love and detail she puts into the cut. Everyone that works here is very nice. They also have a store in the front where they sell amazing products, so I do my shopping here too! The best grooming experience I have ever had.

Take your pup here! We first found Seaport Paw when taking a walk with our 3 month old Cavapoo, Buddy. The owner, May, was bursting with love and they instantly bonded.This shop has everything from leashes and grooming supplies to unique “New York themed” chew toys and dog-friendly cakes!Not only that, but their grooming services are top notch. Buddy had his first appointment yesterday and didn’t want to leave when it was time to go.Don’t miss out on this local Seaport spot—it’s truest a staple of the neighborhood for a reason.

Ever since the ownership has changed the service is has gone down tremendously. They are grabby and money hungry and don’t care about your dog’s experience or the service. My dog has been going here for 3 years and this time his nails are completely jagged and they’re so uneven and they didn’t use the requested shampoo for his conditioner. The person at the front desk was sure to ask me how I would like to leave a tip and didn’t even say thank you for the large tip amount that was given. The reviews on google seem to be all positive but if you go to yelp you will see others with a similar experience. DO NOT BRING YOUR PUP HERE!

I am usually not the type of person to leave reviews but today was the day I decided it’s time to leave a review. I’ve been bringing my dog here for about a year and a half and my experiences in the past have been great, the staff were lovely and my dog looked handsome in his teddy bear cut. Today of course he looked adorable but the cut is not the issue it’s the lady at the front desk and just the fact that they raised their prices. Before even after dematting bc my dog gets really matted , it would be 179. It’s been this price for the year and a half I’ve been going. I have no idea what happened in 3 months but the total was 245 today 9/22 and I explained to the lady why the sudden change and she explained oh we have a new groomer and I guess those are the prices. I’m complaining more about the miscommunication and the sudden price spike than anything else because on the phone the receptionist tells me if you pay by cash you get 20 dollar discounted for not paying by card then in person she tells me oh it’s only 12, like excuse me you literally said 20. Then on top of that after I got home not even 10 minutes later. my dog had an episode and I had to take him to the vet which was another pretty penny. Just before taking your dog here inquire about the prices and make sure you have enough before being like me being under the impression that it was under the old price when in fact the price has changed. The two stars I left are for the great cut that they left with my dog but the terrible miscommunication with the front desk lady because she says when price on the phone then changes it in person which doesn’t make much sense and the price spike is what really upset me.

I don’t recommend this place for Pomeranian grooming they don’t know how to work with this type of breed. It’s not safety for your dog. They cut too short and for Pomeranian it’s not okay.Wool after grooming looks horrible, not soft and shiny. We will NEVER come back and i REALLY hope we haven’t alopecia after this grooming

TERRIBLE! Just came from them! My dog spend there 2.5 hours! And they literally did nothing! They just used some spray (like dry shampoo) with super strong scent (even for human) - my dog was all covered with white dust, itchy, with very very very dry hair (usually she is super silky). They didn’t groom her at all, nothing changed, ears untouched, tail and belly also, paws are not trimmed! And they charged me $82!!!! I can call it a fraud after all.Didn’t have time to come and talk to them. I had to run, and I guess they used this fact. Never will come back. Super disappointed.

People who work this shop were helpful searching for a very small dog harness that fit him. Mom did purchase something that she liked but wish she didnt in the end b/c it was $50. She was going to buy 4 little balls but ended up with 2 because each were $4. Well this is the Seaport. Other than outrageous pricing, the place is very very clean and had lots of stuff to look at while waiting for your pooch to be groomed.

The staff at the Paw is REMARKABLE. May and Jackie are so kind and responsive. They truly care about the client's needs and want to make sure that you have a good experience with them. They're also entirely passionate about pups so your pup is in the best of hands with them. They are incredible and I'm so grateful for them!

The staff is so friendly and great. We stopped by to check it out and the staff offered our young pup some water and treats. They answered questions we had and have some great toys, treats, and ‘extras’ for pups. I have a feeling our pup won’t let us walk by there again without going in to say hi.

This little dog grooming shop is so adorable and they do an amazing job with my puppy every time. Thick room cost around $100 all in, and if you pay in cash it is slightly cheaper. The groomer, Audi, always does a fantastic job, and my dog comes back looking like a little stuffed animal.

They are really really really nice and sweet people. But our dog looks horrible, I want to cry looking at him. I would never bring the dog for grooming to this place if you care about beautiful work. If you want just to wash and shave - it’s ok:). I hope in some months I will have my cute dog back :).

All the Groomers are wonderful and the Owner Amanda is not only a special person but she knows her stuff! I love all of the natural food products there too. Well...Gunner loves them! I bring my dog here for nail trimming and bathing all the time and I've always had a great experience! At one point, my dog had a little skin infection and had a medicated shampoo prescribed to him with special instructions. The groomer already knew exactly what to do. I've never been to such a knowledgeable groomer. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We LOVE the Salty Paw! May is incredible and the owner, Amanda, was so kind and friendly. She even encouraged us to explore local businesses in the South Street Seaport while we waited. When we got back to the groomers, our doodle looked AMAZING!! Thank you all so much! We'll definitely be back!

Used to love this place but then took my dog there for a 2nd time and he cried and didn’t want to go in. They barely cut his hair and it all got matted. Noticed red marks on him too. A friend of mine said her dog got infection from this place also! Heard great things but now I would never go back.
