This is the first time I took my Shih-tzu cupcake to see Lucky the groomer at Pets on Broadway. I was a little anxious because she hasn't had the best experiences with groomers. But Lucky was very considerate and thorough, here are some before and after pictures. YOU BE THE JUDGE....I definitely will take cupcake to him again. Just love the pics

I usually don't write reviews but here I go.Some months ago, I took my dog for grooming like the last 3 times and this time around there was a new employee. The grooming was so bad my dog was bleeding on 2 of his 4 paws and couldn't walk.I called the establishment, and they provided me a 50$ credit for the next grooming. Funny enough I went back, and the credit wasn't on my account and the manager was nowhere to be found. So, the issue is the trust. How the hell you can promise something as the manager and don't follow up as promise.

My review is based off the grooming itself and the experience.The experience as a first time customer was less than ideal. Of course no one can predict this would happen but my dog had an allergic reaction to either the products used or a chemical in one of the products. I didn't notice it at the time of pick up in the hustle and bustle of the checkout process but his eyes by the time we got home we're swollen shut. I frantically called to get the product names that were used and report his reaction and ask if anything had occurred during the grooming. I highly doubt If something did happen during grooming- sprayed something in his eyes, shampoo/conditioner got in his eyes- they would say it but they offered to give him an eye wash solution if I came in before they closed. My partner and I hurried over and they gave us the eye wash free of charge and they put some in his eyes.The grooming itself was a bit sloppy- He has small tufts of long hair throughout his coat. His eye lashes were cut down and the fur on his neck is like a fade! I asked for the long strands hanging down his ears to be trimmed slightly but they were pretty much cut down to where his ear ends. I paid more for a teeth cleaning and I can't tell if that was done. But I am happy that the groomer recommended the hair cut #7 instead of the #6 because if we had gone with that one - he'd look like a naked mole rat.Is my dog okay?He is fine now but the swelling lasted 2 days and he had to take a few halves of benadryl- thankfully he wasn't blinded!Does the haircut look awful overall? At first glance I didn't like it but it grew on me and hair is hair- it'll grow back so its fine.Will I go back? Definitely not. Next place I go to I'm taking our own products.

Love it here. My cat gets groomed and it's like a mom dropping off a kid for a play session. They call you when they are done.

best groomer i’ve found! they were SO friendly and took the time to go over pricing and details about exactly what i was looking for before the grooming, and even did a little photoshoot withmy little boy after!!! they got all his mats out, seriously the best groom he’s ever gotten! love them!

Bruno loved it!I went to the store looking for food and toys for my need doggie! They were so nice and helpful that I had to go back next day to introduce Bruno (my frenchie), he got groomed and I got him snacks and sweaters, happiest pup ever! The staff is amazzzzing and I can’t wait to go back!Ps: they gave him the cutest little bow after grooming!

Just moved into the area and have 3 dogs; a Chihuahua & 2 Frenchies, and they all aren't too fond of the cold but excited to go on walks in their new hood. -- Came across this store randomly while walking Peepo (Chihuahua) at sunset and the wind was picking up big time. Was tempted 2 order clothes for them online, but I'm an IRL/old school kinda shopper across the board. I gotta touch it and see it before buying it. --Anywho, I googled pet stores nearby and this place was the closest around by far, had prety damn good reviews & looked like their selection was right on the mark. - Service was friendly, the selection & prices: good. We tried on two sweaters because he's so small and found the perfect fit. I'll be back soon to get two more for the Frenchies.

🚨🚨TO START OFF THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, I TOOK MY DOG 1st time FOR GROOMING ONLY TO GET A BATH, THEY GAVE ME THE PRICE WHICH IS $50, I WENT TO PICK UP MY DOG AND THE GUY TELLS ME IS $105 FOR A POODLE THYS ONLY 16lb, WITHOUT ASKING ME OR CONSULTING THEY WHEN AHEAD AND CHARGED ME EXTRA $25 SAYING MY DOG HAS LONG HAIR, I WILL LEAVE FOTOS PF MY DOG SO YOU GUYS CAN SEE HOW LONG... THEY LIE TO MY FACE LIKE IF THEY CONSULTED ME ABOUT PRICES.... MY APPOINTMENT CLEARLY SAID BATH FOR $50 BUT WHEN YOU GO A PICK UP UR DOG THEY HAVE OTHER HIDDEN FEE THEY DONT TELL YOU ABOUT .... Pets on Broadway is your friendly neighborhood pet store. Without having to travel far or shop at a giant chain, I can get everything my Gia needs to be happy and healthy. If they don't have what you want, they order it for you. The staff, including Charlie, are super nice and professional.

I came in to this business, looking to make an appointment to groom my Poodle dog. I was attracted by how clean and organized this place seemed. I made my first appointment, the day of it, I was called to reschedule because the groomer was leaving early. I was a little disappointed, but made the appt. for the following 2 days,. The night before the visit, I got a call at 8pm, asking me to reschedule because the groomer decided not to come in, do to the fact that there was only 1 pet to be groomed, (my pet). So, in my opinion, they don't care about the clients or the dogs. Why would a business allow their only groomer do this to their clients? ? needless to say, I did not schedule another visit, but thank goodness I found a wonderful and responsible groomer at another business who did a great job, and affordable, grooming my baby. Thank you so much Pet s on Broadway!!

I’ve taken one of my dogs here for grooming with Lucky in the past and it was great. I felt confident going back here. Today, I took my other dog and got a different groomer this time and they did the exact OPPOSITE of what I asked and then doubled down on how I said to “take it all off”. I NEVER used those words. I paid close to $140 for the groomer to “misunderstand” me and leave my dog with almost no fur in this cold weather! I’m extremely upset and won’t be going back. They offered a discount on future services or free treats because “this haircut is done and there’s nothing they can do about it now” (in terms of a refund). No kidding! I, however, didn’t ask for a refund, but one should have been given now that I think about it! Even so, I can appreciate the offer to discount the next service, but I will NOT be going back. It’s really unfortunate.

Great service no complain been taking both of my dogs there for a long time but was disappointed about a discount that was offer to me due to me been a employee of the city by the store manager name George when I got to the store to drop off my dog I ask about my discount after I paid 185.00 to get my small dog groom which the price was. Insane because I paid aways less then 150.00 so anyways the young lady that was there confirmed with the manager on some group employees chat that they have about this 15% discount I guess he said yes he did approve it then the young lady when on to contact the store manager name Sam and ask him he said that he don’t give no type of discount to any type of city or state or federal employee so I was disappointed because even though the discount was already offer to me a week ago by a manager I still didn’t get it I just feel that I should of because that’s not my problem that he as a store owner didn’t explain that to his managers

I went to the Pet Square location on W. 42nd for the first time today to have my dog groomed. They were incredible and gave me an appointment that afternoon.Carla did a WONDERFUL job grooming my senior dog. I have never seen my dog so happy at a grooming.I will be a regular customer from now on.

Do not use Pets on Broadway for grooming. The groomer will tell you they can do the cut but they cannot and then they will be rude and charge you full price.

My dog had a severe allergy reaction due to the grooming in December. As per the Vet It must have been from dirty and unsanitized clippers. Until this day I'm still dealing with skin condition.

I took my dog Juicy to be groomed and she looks beautiful. It took less than an hour when I picked her up she looked soooo different but beautiful at the same time her groomers name is Andrew hes very attentive with the dog which made for an easy process and he's such a sweet person. When and if you decide to go ask for Andrew because he's the best.

After having a really positive grooming for my mini Australian Shepherd here, I booked a repeat service. I got a phone call from a different person two hours later saying I would need to reschedule my appointment because I was the only appointment and the groomer “couldn’t come in for only one appointment.” Disappointing, and not sure why the previous person would have booked me if that time wasn’t available. Since their scheduling was unable to work around mine, I guess I’ll be looking for yet another groomer or just doing it myself.

My favorite pet store in NYC (and I’ve been to a lot of different ones)! I take the subway there because I’m not in the same neighborhood (though I’m not incredibly far or anything), which to me shows the quality of the store since I wouldn’t go out of my way otherwise. The people who work there are so friendly and knowledgeable, including the feline staff of course!, and the cat food/overall cat selection is excellent. Sam was super kind and went out of his way to help me after my kitty got sick and I went in for the first time. I really appreciated that and his helpfulness in general.

Sam is the best, most dedicated pet store owner ever! He’s always on time ordering my cats’s special food, always asking how they are and even throwing in a little treat for them at times. He really cares about his clients and he even does pet sitting- my girls love him. I recommend him and the staff at Pets On Broadway any day!

Brought my overly rambunctious husky Shadow here for his first grooming, I was a bit worried since he can be a bit anxious. I have to say he was well taken care of and he looked amazing upon pickup. They were so good with him, definitely going back.

Such a lovely little neighborhood store. Not a chain, and very reasonably priced (competitive with on-line services!), with a careful selection of quality products for primarily cats and dogs. Sam gives personal service, knows his customers and their pets, and the store cats Charlie and Jasmine are the best welcome team. (Note that it's on 149th, between Broadway and the River!)

The company's website has one price for a bag of food, then I go into the store and buy the bag and I'm charged a totally different price. After checking I called the store and they tell me the pet food company just raised their prices. That's funny because no other retailers are reflecting this sudden 40% price increase. Definitely will never return. Don't shop here unless you love being price gouged

My girlfriend brought our cute little Cavachon in for a grooming yesterday only to find out that the groomers weren’t in. Someone messed up the system and didn’t call to let us know that the groomers weren’t in and we would have to reschedule. Because it was at night I made her Uber both ways costing us 50$ and my dog wasn’t even groomed. Didn’t offer us anything for this huge inconvenience. Horrible horrible horrible. With I could give this establishment no stars. 0/10 recommend.

My favorite place to shop for all of my pets necessity's. My dog Hennessy loves going there to be groomed. They treat her so nice and always give her treats. They also have a large variety of different healthy dog foods and treats. For anyone living in the area you should definitely go there for all of your pet needs

I forget how many years I've been going here - certainly as long as Sam has worked there. Pets on Broadway has a surprisingly large selection of food, treats and toys. I go there to pick up things for my cats but they have a great selection for dogs and other animals as well.This alone earns PoB a great review. What merits five stars is Sam. In fact, I often joke that they should rename this to Sam’s Place. He’s unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable and consistently goes above and beyond to help. I’ve often called or texted to ask if they have something. If they don’t he’s happy to order it. He even does delivery. In fact, he even once went by my place to feed my kitties when I was stuck and unable to get home! Oh, and his kitties Charlie and Jasmine are adorable and friendly.I’m a die-hard fan of Pets on Broadway and highly recommend them.

We go here all the time for our two dogs. Good selection and if you ask for something that they don't have they will come up with alternative options and/or order it.We have used their grooming services for our Schnoodle several times and have always been very pleased.Petco, Petsmart and other big box places are fine but here you personal service, familiar faces and support a local business.
