These guys have been a fixture in the Lower East Side for many years! I have shopped here for years until chewy came along. but there are a few times when that delivery doesnt make it - or during covid - nothing was getting delivered! BUT THESE GUYS DELIVER! yes!!! and its always good to give the stores in your neighborhood some business. nyc needs the little stores to stay open! and while chewy is great - these guys really come close and they are super convenient and competitive prices. i was so grateful that they were open during the pandemic!

Adriana who works here is more knowledgable than my (overpriced) vet... I was blown away by her knowledge for pet nutrition and ability to provide me very honest and helpful product recommendations for my pet frenchie while keeping my budget in mind! She's A++. I will be returning on one of the days she works for any future purchase needs!

It's not a very big shop, but they have a nice assortment and a little bit of everything you might need for your cat or dog. I haven't gone down every aisle because I'm just there for my kitten. But I've always found what I was looking for. Staff is very knowledgeable as well

All visible and online signage suggests this place closes at 8 pm. I rushed to make it at 7:54, only to be turned away. Very unprofessional; will not be patronizing this place anymore.

This is a well-known dog shop! I bought a pet from this shop last Monday afternoon. I really like the employee because she always encourages me to be sweet and safe with her cat. I have no doubts, as a happy customer, about buying it. Ultimately, I did not regret it, because the pets I bought were so sweet and lovable.

Before you buy anything make sure you look up the ingredients. I unfortunately because I was running late for work I didn’t get the chance to do so. I grabbed what I usually get my dogs which is the Stella and chew meal mixers now yes you would think they are a really good brand like I use to think but they have potassium chloride which causes stomach bleeding, tricalcium phosphate if you keep giving this they will get lung cancer, choline chloride getting too much of this will cause vomiting, heavy sweating, salivation. Now look these up and you will find out for yourself. I called them once I found this out and the “manager’s” response was “we are not a vet and we sell whatever people buy” and I mean I get it but that’s just how you know they don’t really care about your pets so do yourself a favor and look up those ingredients before you buy anything from them.

I love shopping at Petopia! Always some free snacks to try for my dog.Once my dog still a bone and impossible to get it out of his mouth… maybe they should put the bones in a upper level then to the dog eye level?Other then that super nice personal, polite, helpful, attentive to what you need and ask.It would be nice if they had a card that gets you bonus if you shop a lot over there cuz, I do and it’s a little expensive.

Just out walking and came across this spot. Has a very large selection for all types of pets. My dog was having some anxiety issues and I asked the salesperson for some assistance. Talked to me for about 15 minutes explaining everything, asking questions about the issues the dog was having. Recommended a product with cbdWorked like a charm - I was impressed that it worked so wellIt was without a doubt due to the salesperson knowledge because I have compared the item I purchased to other items online, none had similar ingredients

Started finding more local places in the city to shop at. I ended up finding new kind of litter to use for my 17 year old cat that doesn't go all over the place and its clean for its little paws...cedar is amazing and makes the apt smell like the outdoors

I have been a customer here for over 7 years, and this past month I've experienced the worst customer service that I've experienced within the time that I have given you guys my service. As I remember its customary to let a customer know when a delivery is going to take over an hour. The last 2 times I called to have a delivery the person on the other end did not let me know it was going to take over 2 hours. Which hindered my plans, twice. The store called me 2 hours later to ask if I was home so that they can send their delivery guy. At that point, is when I let them know that this is the 2nd time that they're sending my food over 2 hours later and not letting me know. I would not mind the time, had I been notified I would have made other plans for the food. The manager for this store, which said her name is Monifa, was very condescending and argumentative over the phone. As I'm asking her to please let the staff know to make sure that they let the customers know if an order is going to take over 2 hours she proceeded to combat with telling me that they "called me a few times previously and a couple of deliveries before this I didn't answer the phone", which I failed to understand what that had to do with me not being told that the delivery would take longer than expected. So am I being treated like this as punishment for not answering my phone previously? I do not appreciate being treated unequally just because there had been a mishap with a previous delivery. As a loyal customer, I should be told if my delivery is going to take longer than "within the hour" as they usually do. Since the manager was being argumentative on the phone, I took a trip to the store, where I was already frustrated because I have given this company hundreds of dollars for my pets for someone to argue with me about whether or not I deserve to be told that my order will be long. I am very offended and upset that I was treated this way today. Your manager definitely heard a mouthful today, because with the times that is going on there's no room for being treated unfairly in any capacity. Monifa would benefit from a course on dealing with customer problems. Especially with loyal customers.

The store is always well maintained and cleanThe only downfall is the horrible customer service… the answers condescending, the effort to help you find a product is at bare minimum it seems like it’s a bother to ask for anything there only 2 employees seem to always have to resolve the issues because of the rest of the confrontational staff… Usually you build customer and employee relationships when you support a business on a regular day basis but it’s the complete opposite…. Everything is they can’t, they won’t or just a face because you press them to do so.. the lack of hospitality is insane .. the customers in your community are what keep a business going making them feel like an inconvenience will never allow that to grow..I honestly hope to hear on this matter and what Petopia is going to do to improve itrather then be ignored …

This pet store carries my dog’s food, which not a lot of stores carry, but it isn’t my favorite pet food store. I go here if it’s convenient, but the staff isn’t very helpful and they just stay behind the counter the whole time. Don’t expect any recommendations or help if you’re looking for something.
