Updated Review:Apparently not all groomers here are good. When they auto-book my next grooming, they secretly changed my groomer of choice!! I only noticed this when I receive a terribly groomed dog today!This new groomer Elvira K gave my dog a weird shape head and uneven body cut. The worst thing is that she clipped my westie's tail too, my dog now has a rat tail for the next couple of month.Original Revie:Absolutely love this place! My regular groomers are Guy and Enrique. They are very skillful and efficient, and they always listen to my requests. Thank you for making my doggies look so cute and clean!

Staff is incompetent and careless. My dog went in cute and happy, then came out a different dog.. ugly and sad. I didn’t even recognize him. They did not listen to me and the groomer wasn’t even in yet to speak to me. I wanted him brushed and trimmed. They said they needed to cut his fur more to get to the matts but then just completely shaved off his fur where you can see his skin. The shave itself was messy, uneven, botchy and there were a bunch of king strands all over him. His face was a mess too and so uneven. I am still so upset about this and baffled that they would let a dog leave looking like this. A refund doesn’t even help pay for the traumatic experience and does not grow his beautiful fur back. Elivara was the groomer for my dog and she should not be working here if she does not know how to groom a dog properly. This looks like someone very unexperienced. I would have never had my dog shaved down in the winter. I do this myself when it’s summer so don’t even need to bring him somewhere to get shaved. I do a much better job too. So I don’t know why he was there for 4.5hrs then just came out looking like crap. I have no confidence that they even did everything else that needed to be done. This place should not overbook dogs if they can’t properly groom each one. Or show up late and get backed up and do him quick. I am beyond furious with this experience.

The groomer really didn't cut the areas that were needed to get cut/trimmed. And I think he used something that he wasn't supposed to use, because my puppy's eyes are irritated w green mucus.

My experience at Turtle Bay location was disappointing. I expressed my concerns with the service I received from the groomer named Guy C. He showed lack of empathy and his professional manner was woefully lacking. Please advised him for the future.

Daniel the store manager was 30 minutes late opening the store for my 8:00 am appointment. I waited in street holding my dog for 30 minutes. Fortunately it wasn’t raining. No apologies. No accountability.

I am so, so, SO happy with the care and grooming Diana provided my pup! My pup looks adorable and she was not at all stressed when I picked her up; which gives me such relief and peace. They didn’t go over on time and were patient as I worked to get them the vaccine records from the vet. I 100% bring back my dog!

My appointment was at 11am and we were told that our dog would be ready in 3 hours. However, 3 hours later, my dog wasn't ready and was told to come back again in 2 hours. My dog was held there for a total of 5 hours. I understand the groomer was busy, however, it is Petco's responsibility to appropriate staff based on demand and not overbook the groomer. Additionally, one of the groomers/employees rescheduled my original appointment without any notice. Luckily the new appointment time worked with my schedule but it was extremely unprofessional.

My dog was groomed terribly and I was charged for way more services than I needed. The lady at the front desk kept insisting I add more services I did not want or need and ended up being charged for them anyways. I was told they wouldn't cut the hair on my dog's face as much and when I picked him up his face had been completely trimmed to the shortest length possible. The hair cut was absolutely not consistent with what a Maltese dog should look like. I was originally supposed to pay $52 according to the website when I made the appointment, and ended up being charged $100 plus tax after all the unnecessary services they added. It is much cheaper to go to any other grooming salon and I am positive your pet will end up looking a lot better if groomed anywhere else. I came here because it was supposed to be cheaper, ended up being more expensive and worse service. I will NOT be returning.

The good: the hair cuts for our dogs have been what we asked for. The price is quite reasonable for NYC.The bad: repeated voicemails are never returned unless you call the sales floor and ask for a manager, only then do I get a call back the same day. No one in grooming ever picks up the phone. Even told to just text them if I need something, yeah that doesn’t get a reply either.Booked time off work and groomer is 40 min late to work but no one ever lets me know, can’t check in dogs until the groomer arrives so I’m stuck waiting and miss my next work meeting.Vetco vaccines are showing they are valid in the petco app, they won’t take the dog for grooming saying it’s expired a couple days ago (app said next month). Then tell me to go to a vetco clinic on a Friday, so I book time off work to go so they can keep the grooming appt that took me over a month of calling to book with them. Turns out that location of petco doesn’t even do vetco appts unless it’s a Saturday and Sunday and even then I would have needed an appt and the next one available is in 3 more weeks. Another wasted morning off work.I’m so done with this location. If an area manager reads this please retrain your staff or hire an extra person (or 10) to fix these issues. This repeated nonsense has cost your company 15 years of my brand loyalty. Not worth it for me to ever go here again. I’ll take my money elsewhere. Lots of independent shops with MUCH better service are far more worthy of staying in business.

The cut was great, but it took a lot more time than originally estimated. Also, I am not sure why the UES location and midtown location had different base prices ($52 vs $68) for a cut and bath. Other than that, I loved the staff and my baby looks beautiful!

The Midtown East Petco in Turtle Bay is by far the worst Petco location I have been to. I have been taking my mini goldendoodle to Petco for years and never had a problem (in Chicago). Since moving to New York, this was the worst Petco experience I've had to date. Anabel was very unfriendly, lacked to apologize for poor service, and lied to her associates about the instructions she gave me.
